Klondike Thief

October 11, 2010 by Julie 38 Comments

I love my dog.fitness mag 048She sure can drive me up a wall…

fitness mag 049   But at the end of the day…fitness mag 114 She’s a breath of fresh air and something I can always count on to make me smile and laugh hysterically.

Sadie was less than helpful this afternoon as Ryan snapped pictures of me for a little fitness-related project. Sadie clearly wanted to be the star!

As it turns out, I’m a pretty pathetic model and feel rather uncomfortable in front of the camera. It’s much easier for me to act goofy and use the self timer on my camera than it is for me to pose for pictures taken by others. I feel so awkward!

After our little side-project, Ryan and I headed inside to get crack-a-lackin’ on dinner.

Dinner

On the menu this evening was trout with roasted Brussels sprouts and Oreo Klondike bars!

trout 003 I prepared the trout by spraying it with olive oil cooking spray and sprinkling it with garlic salt before broiling it on a cookie sheet lined with tin foil for approximately 10 minutes until the fish flaked with a fork.

It was really, really tasty! I never think to buy trout unless it is on sale, but it might be worth the extra money every now and then.

The Oreo Klondike bar made an excellent dessert. Great buy by Ryan! 😀 trout 006

I think Ryan intended to keep the Klondike bars for himself, but he knows my love for ice cream cannot be tamed. I am officially a Klondike Thief. 😉

Now we’re chillin’ on the couch for a bit before getting into bed EARLY. I was exhausted at work all day and am in desperate need of a long, deep sleep.

Enjoy your evening, friends!

      yes! loooove reese’s klondikes!

and, no, sadie’s not barking. she’s being “huffy” as we call it. she opens her mouth and breathes in & out quickly when she’s overly excited. 🙂

Those klondike bars look dangerous ;)…

I thought she might have been howling in that first pic, my fogs howl instead of barking at times. Just curious, do you buy frozen fish or fresh? I do both, but the frozen seems to be cheaper though never really looks all that great.

we actually bought this fresh last week, but didn’t have time to use it so we froze it. 🙂 generally speaking, i usually buy fresh fish (whatever kind is on sale).

Oh my gosh my dogs always get in the way as soon as I am close to the ground. There is never any way I can do any type of exercise that involves being on the ground. Yoga? Not a chance. Ab work? Hmph, good luck with that!

I’m the same way with pictures. I’d much rather make a silly face and being in front of the camera alone makes me feel so awkward!

Julie, I ALMOST bought Brussels sprouts last night because you always make them look so good. But then I realized I didn’t know the answer to one VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION…. Do you buy fresh or frozen? What is your opinion of both?
I’ve heard they taste like mini cabbage…I love cabbage. But my mom hates Brussels sprouts so I never tried them as a young girl. Help!! 🙂

Aw Sadie is so cute! I have a golden retriever (his name is Tiger!) and he drives me crazy sometimes (as in when he escapes to our neighbors yard across the street to randomly roam their territory =]) but I love him to death! He is such a little brother to me! (and he makes for a good footwarmer/pillow in the winter times)
