Cheerios! Oh, oh, oh!

November 10, 2009 by Julie 13 Comments

Does anyone else remember that old Cheerios jingle? “The one and only Cheerios oh oh oh!” I’ve had it in my head ever since I bit into the first crunchy o in my breakfast this morning.

Tuesday's Breakfast

Yesterday when Ryan and I got home from the grocery store and were unpacking our green bags (love those things!), we randomly had a big box of Cheerios in one of the bags that neither of us remember placing on the conveyor belt. Free Cheerios – not a bad deal!

Naturally I had to incorporate the crunchy lil’ guys into my breakfast. I combined a cup of Cheerios with a cup of thick Greek yogurt and some thawed raspberries from my freezer.

I served my cereal-yogurt-fruit combo with a hot cup of Bigelow eggnogg’n tea.

Eggnogg'n Tea

I saw the tea at the grocery store yesterday and couldn’t resist picking it up! The tea smelled heavenly. It was good, but I think it would have tasted even better with milk, a little sweetener and some whipped cream. 😉

What’s your favorite holiday beverage?

Breakfast was tasty!

I love hot chocolate, and I like egg nog, but just after a sip of it. Do you like apple cinnamon cheerios? They were the best!

I love seasonal teas, the apple cider spice is one of my favorites. But a hot cup of peppermint tea with some hot chocolate mix? Oh so good.

I love hot apple cider! And have you ever tried “mulled wine?” It’s like spiced wine that’s heated up….sooooo delicious.

However, I am NOT a big fan of eggnog…it kind of gives me the heebie jeebies 😉

I bought that Eggnog’n tea a while ago and hated it. I didn’t think about adding milk, whipped cream or sweetener. It smelled yummy but the taste, yuck.
I love egg nog, hot apple cider, mulled wine, peppermint mocha.

yeah i think it definitely needs a little something extra. i think i just expect something creamy when i hear “eggnog” so i think adding milk/ whipped cream would really help out the flavor.
