Apparently My Name is Daniel

November 30, 2010 by Julie 38 Comments

A couple of days ago I was logging into AOL to check my email. (Yes, I still use AOL and my email address is comprised of random letters and numbers – 8th grade-style. Don’t judge.)

Once I logged in, I was greeted with a “Howdy, Daniel” at the top, left side of my AOL homepage.

Odd.

I figured it was some sort of a mistake until day after day this week, I’ve been greeted with various welcoming phrases, followed by the name Daniel.

Hello, Daniel!

Daniel = Julie?

It could be worse… I could be greeted with a name like Hawk, which, coincidentally is the boy’s baby name Ryan loves at the moment.

Little Baby Hawk and His Loving Father

Let’s hope he grows out of that one by the time we’re ready for a Baby Squirt of our own.

Lunch

For lunch Daniel I enjoyed a sandwich full of flavor!

Tuesday Lunch

Piled onto a whole wheat sandwich thin was:

  • 1/2 Aidells chicken & apple sausage link (I ate the half that didn’t make it onto the sandwich)
  • 1 slice Swiss cheese
  • 1/4 Granny Smith apple, thinly slices (I ate the other 3/4 of the apple while making breakfast this morning)

Granny Smith Apple Slices

On the side, I included grape tomatoes and green pepper slices for some added nutrients.

Grape Tomaters

I am a big fan of fruits and meats paired together… if done correctly! I’m not about to sit down to a feast of ground beef mixed with strawberries, but baked apples and pork is another story!

Perhaps I’ll revisit the meat and fruit combo for dinner?

Or perhaps not… I’m  feelin’ risotto!

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

haha that cracks me up about AOL calling you Daniel. on a more serious note, are you struggling at all with a post Thanksgiving slump? i am still feeling really gross from overindulging and cannot help but be discouraged by the weight that i gained. do you have any advice for dealing with this or were you able to avoid holiday weight gain?

yes, i definitely am. my jeans are fitting tighter and i just feel a little sluggish all over. to be honest with you, i feel like my eating has been out of whack lately (hence my “food rut” post from yesterday), but i’m trying not to focus on that and am looking toward getting back on track with healthy eating. beating yourself up over things you ate over thanksgiving will get you no where… just move on to healthier ways! i’ll join ya! 🙂

thank you so much for your honest and words of wisdom 🙂 it is so easy to lose focus of what is really important and get discouraged by pants that don’t fit quite right. hopefully by next week we’ll be feeling back to normal!

That is hysterical!! AOL does some pretty crazy things. Like you, I’ve also had the same AOL account since I was in 8th grade, and for the past ten years of so, people have emailed me thinking that I am…get this… TONY DANZA!! I mean, all different people send me random fan mail! I have no idea why this happens, but it does about 4-5 times/year. Gotta love AOL, Daniel. Love, Tony 🙂 🙂 🙂

My husband was on a real kick with wanting the name Hunter S if we had a boy. S being the entire middle name. Ummmmm no. Four years later and still no baby, but I think he might finally be over Hunter! 🙂

Hawk as a name could make for some interesting middle school memories – men and their idea of good baby names can be very amusing. My own partner is going through a tree phase, and since we’re trying for a wee one, I’m frightened I might end up with a hardwood moniker for a child!
I get mail – snail mail – for a Victoria Nkhoma. Have for three years, in four different addresses. Very confusing indeed!

Somewhere there is a guy named Daniel who still uses AOL and is also very confused about why his computer thinks he is Julie. And HAWK? That is hilarious. He might feel a little pressured to be a pilot dont’cha think?

[…] Please let me preface this post by saying that I love UPS. Ryan and I are both slightly obsessed with our UPS guy because he leaves Sadie dog treats every time he delivers a package to our apartment. Plus, he’s super friendly and even asked me what the “Peanut Butter Fingers” packages we receive are all about. I told him that my first name is Peanut because I was four pounds when I was born. My middle name is Butter because it is delicious and I just married Ryan whose last name is Fingers. Can you imagine if that were true? Awful. That name is even worse than Hawk! […]
