My goal is to qualify for the NYC marathon with the new standards.
I just completed my division 1 swimming career yesterday, while also doing nursing school.
I started training for my first half-marathon about 6 weeks ago, and am so excited to be up to about 7 miles in a stretch at this point 🙂 The run takes place in Philadelphia in May, I’m doing it with a good friend of mine, and we’re loving the training/prep/new knowledge about running, healthy living, and the gear/tools that make it all easier. I haven’t tried any compression clothing yet, so this would be a neat new experience. Thanks, love your blog!!
Having a history with multiple ACL tears, I’ve been looking into anything that will help stabilize that area and of course, decreased soreness after long runs would be amazing. This year I’m hoping to complete my first half marathon without totally killing me knees in the process!
I am so curious about compression shorts/gear! I don’t suffer too much from soreness but I definitely need to be better about recovery from long races – I have a feeling my negligence will catch up with me!

I had knee surgery in high school to reattach my knee cap which dislocated 3 times in the span of 6 months from a reoccuring basketball injury, running has always been an issue since then. I ran my very first 5k back in October and since then will be running my first 7k next month, 10k in April, and HALF MARATHON (how crazy!?) in May 🙂 I’m so glad I started making a change in my health for the better and I have a feeling 2012 is going to be a fantastic year!
