Aspaeris Pivot Compression Shorts Giveaway

February 25, 2012 by Julie 1,073 Comments

After I blogged about the soreness I experienced following the Savannah Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon, a wonderful woman (and amazing athlete!) who works with my dad and reads my blog reached out to me about the benefits of compression clothing.

She swore by compression gear as a means to increase oxygen blood flow to the muscles, helping them to recover faster.

After wearing compression sleeves over my calves following the Women’s Half Marathon later that month, I was a believer. I wasn’t sore and loved the snug fit of the sleeves.

I knew then that I wanted to try out compression shorts since my hamstrings and quads are often sore after long runs.

Thanks to the kind people at Aspaeris, I was able to try out the Aspaeris Pivot compression shorts and my belief in the benefits of compression clothing was further solidified.

The Aspaeris compression shorts are tight and thick, but comfortable. They don’t dig into my skin. They are snug, but don’t make me feel strangled.

According to Aspaeris, the shorts “offer a unique two-layer design. The top layer supports your muscles while the bottom layer guides you into position. Breakthrough, patent-pending compression bands are cross-knit into the fabric that creates muscle memory to help prevent ACL injury and improve your performance.”

Snug as a bug in a rug. Smile

The shorts come in a variety of colors including black, white, red and navy blue.

And now YOU have a chance to win a pair of Aspaeris Pivot compression shorts!

I used to be a D1 XC/track athlete and my goal is to eventually get back into “college shape”. I am not necessarily looking to beat my old times but to match them. Every time I pick up a runner’s world magazine I day dream about running a 18:00 5k or a 4:57 mile….those were the days!

Last weekend I just finished my first half marathon in ft. lauderdale. I’m only down in FL until the end of March and will be heading back up north to finish school. After finishing my first half I have now become inspired to train for a tri-athalon or POSSIBLY a half ironman. I love the feeling of accomplishing something with your body that you never thought to be possible. I also plan to try out a variety of different types of exercising outside of my comfort zone to try and increase my muscle strength and endurance!

After swearing off skiing for the last 15 years because of a horrible first experience (when I was 16 years old), my husband coaxed me into trying it last year. I only had two ski days last season because I started so late, but this season we’ve been going as much as possible. Today I skied all intermediate terrain, a goal I NEVER thought I’d reach when I started up again last season. I have a way of being so critical about my body despite the fact that it allows me to do so much. It’s time to start thanking her!

Also…my husband and I mountain climb, and every time I reach a summit I am so grateful. So I guess they’re both my most exciting achievements!
