Aspaeris Pivot Compression Shorts Giveaway

February 25, 2012 by Julie 1,073 Comments

After I blogged about the soreness I experienced following the Savannah Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon, a wonderful woman (and amazing athlete!) who works with my dad and reads my blog reached out to me about the benefits of compression clothing.

She swore by compression gear as a means to increase oxygen blood flow to the muscles, helping them to recover faster.

After wearing compression sleeves over my calves following the Women’s Half Marathon later that month, I was a believer. I wasn’t sore and loved the snug fit of the sleeves.

I knew then that I wanted to try out compression shorts since my hamstrings and quads are often sore after long runs.

Thanks to the kind people at Aspaeris, I was able to try out the Aspaeris Pivot compression shorts and my belief in the benefits of compression clothing was further solidified.

The Aspaeris compression shorts are tight and thick, but comfortable. They don’t dig into my skin. They are snug, but don’t make me feel strangled.

According to Aspaeris, the shorts “offer a unique two-layer design. The top layer supports your muscles while the bottom layer guides you into position. Breakthrough, patent-pending compression bands are cross-knit into the fabric that creates muscle memory to help prevent ACL injury and improve your performance.”

Snug as a bug in a rug. Smile

The shorts come in a variety of colors including black, white, red and navy blue.

And now YOU have a chance to win a pair of Aspaeris Pivot compression shorts!

It sounds like nothing for most people, but my greatest athletic achievement was finally reaching my goal of running for 30 minutes without a walk break yesterday! I’ve been working on it for months! I’d like to run a 5k this spring.

I would absolutely LOVE a pair of those shorts! I’ve been dying to try compression for so long but it’s just so expensive. My greatest athletic achievement was last weekend, I ran my first half marathon and sub 2-ed, which was my only goal! But oh my goodness my quads burned the next day – I definitely need to try compression shorts now I’ve signed up for my first marathon!

I think I’ve seen those shorts on one other blog I read… they look really interesting! My biggest athletic accomplishment probably has to do with Ironman. I’ve crossed the finish line at 3 of them and I LOVE the sport. I had to take a little break after my last one in Sept 2010, but I’m coming back later this year. 🙂

After running 2 marathons, I have discovered how important it is to wear the right clothes! The first marathon I wore a running skirt. The shorts underneath the skirt were unlike the compression shorts you have because they kept riding up and made for an unpleasant chafing experience!

I would really love to win the shorts for my friend who is my inspiration for keeping fit. She will be 58 yrs. old this year and does 2 marathons per year, many triathalons yearly and rides her bike summer and even winter when it’s not too cold. She never spoils herself with too many running items but I think she would love these. Thanks Julie, hope you are having a great weekend.

My fitness goal is to begin a program like C25K, to start learning to run. At my current weight, I’m not fit to run, but I have goal in mind, and am very excited to start. I love post’s like this, it’s helping me learn some on the do’s and don’t of running, and is helping to prepare me for when I start running. 🙂
