Aspaeris Pivot Compression Shorts Giveaway

February 25, 2012 by Julie 1,073 Comments

After I blogged about the soreness I experienced following the Savannah Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon, a wonderful woman (and amazing athlete!) who works with my dad and reads my blog reached out to me about the benefits of compression clothing.

She swore by compression gear as a means to increase oxygen blood flow to the muscles, helping them to recover faster.

After wearing compression sleeves over my calves following the Women’s Half Marathon later that month, I was a believer. I wasn’t sore and loved the snug fit of the sleeves.

I knew then that I wanted to try out compression shorts since my hamstrings and quads are often sore after long runs.

Thanks to the kind people at Aspaeris, I was able to try out the Aspaeris Pivot compression shorts and my belief in the benefits of compression clothing was further solidified.

The Aspaeris compression shorts are tight and thick, but comfortable. They don’t dig into my skin. They are snug, but don’t make me feel strangled.

According to Aspaeris, the shorts “offer a unique two-layer design. The top layer supports your muscles while the bottom layer guides you into position. Breakthrough, patent-pending compression bands are cross-knit into the fabric that creates muscle memory to help prevent ACL injury and improve your performance.”

Snug as a bug in a rug. Smile

The shorts come in a variety of colors including black, white, red and navy blue.

And now YOU have a chance to win a pair of Aspaeris Pivot compression shorts!

after suffering from running injuries I finally jumped on to the triathlon bandwagon the only problem was, I didn’t know how to swim. I could keep myself afloat but I couldn’t make it from one end of the pool to the other (never mind back) so I took swimming lesson and now three years later I have done two half ironmans!!! Never say never.

I recently came across your blog and am LOVING all the recipies and training advice. I am SO excited you are giving away a pair of Aspaeris Pivot compression shorts. I ran my first 1/2 Marathon (Nashville Country Music Rock n’ Roll) last year just under 2 hours and was SO sore but SOOO excited to have made it under 2 hours!!! I trained using the methods in the book “Run Less, Run Faster”. Compression shorts would be awesome for my next 1/2 marathon (hope to do it under 1 hour 45 min!)

My biggest accomplishment is running 18 mikes while training for the Pittsburgh marathon. Unfortunately I hurt my hip after that an was not able to run but doing that kind of distance made me realize my own capabilities. Maybe these compression shorts will help with my reoccurring hip problems. 🙂

I am currently training for my first half marathon, which I’ll run in my Vibram FiveFinger barefoot shoes. Nobody really thinks I’ll do it so any leg up I can get will help! Foam rolling has been a lifesaver and even if I don’t wi I’ll definitely be looking into some compression clothing.
