Aspaeris Pivot Compression Shorts Giveaway

February 25, 2012 by Julie 1,073 Comments

After I blogged about the soreness I experienced following the Savannah Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon, a wonderful woman (and amazing athlete!) who works with my dad and reads my blog reached out to me about the benefits of compression clothing.

She swore by compression gear as a means to increase oxygen blood flow to the muscles, helping them to recover faster.

After wearing compression sleeves over my calves following the Women’s Half Marathon later that month, I was a believer. I wasn’t sore and loved the snug fit of the sleeves.

I knew then that I wanted to try out compression shorts since my hamstrings and quads are often sore after long runs.

Thanks to the kind people at Aspaeris, I was able to try out the Aspaeris Pivot compression shorts and my belief in the benefits of compression clothing was further solidified.

The Aspaeris compression shorts are tight and thick, but comfortable. They don’t dig into my skin. They are snug, but don’t make me feel strangled.

According to Aspaeris, the shorts “offer a unique two-layer design. The top layer supports your muscles while the bottom layer guides you into position. Breakthrough, patent-pending compression bands are cross-knit into the fabric that creates muscle memory to help prevent ACL injury and improve your performance.”

Snug as a bug in a rug. Smile

The shorts come in a variety of colors including black, white, red and navy blue.

And now YOU have a chance to win a pair of Aspaeris Pivot compression shorts!

I’ve run two marathons in the past couple years, and I’m planning on running another one this year! This is such an awesome giveaway and would be so fantastic to use after the many long runs in my future 🙂

I’ve never tried compression shorts, but I’ve heard a lot about them. My farthest run has been 15 miles, which was hard for me.

My goal is to run a half marathon injury free. I have trained twice and both times, gotten stress fractures in the same place weeks before the race. I need to play it safier and take better care of my body.

I’m currently sidelined, due to an injury training for my first half. So my goal is to recover and run a healthy half-marathon. I think these shorts might even help me recover faster, due to the increased blood flow benefits.

    Thanks!

I am currently training for my first marathon… so until I complete that I would have to say my 19 mile training run is what I am most proud of! On which, I wore my neon green compression socks…. which I LOVE.

My biggest athletic achievement thus far is completing my first half marathon, hands down. As my husband left my two toddlers and I for a 7 month deployment, I told him I was going to “become a runner” while he was gone. He laughed and wished me good luck. My first run (less than a mile, ha!) was rough, but crossing the finish line 3 months later after 13.1 miles was worth it. I have since completed another half, a 10k and a 14k, but I doubt anything will ever compare to the first!

My greatest athletic achievement was last year when I raced in my first Olympic distance tri after two years of racing sprints. I hope to race a half iron this year if my past injuries allow me to train for these longer distances. I am a fairly new reader to your blog….found it about 6 weeks ago, and I have enjoyed checking it out daily!

First off – let me admit that I have been following and enjoying your blog for a few weeks now. So glad I found it. I have had fun reading through your back posts – your wedding – your first half marathon ………. I am stoked to try some of your smoothie recipes once it warms up.

As far as athletic achievement – I never did anything remotely athletic before the age of 40 (Unless you can count walking quickly to good sales in the Mall or talking non-stop with friends) After I turned the big 40 I suddenly realized that the weight had crept up on me (I could not longer blame it on baby weight at the youngest of my three was like seven years old LOL) and I wasn’t feeling so good.

And so began a complete transformation of my lifestyle (much to my husband’s astonishment – as he said he would have never guessed in a million years I would suddenly be interested in becoming sweaty on purpose) I changed up my eating habits and my family’s eating habits. And I started to walk followed by running from one mailbox to the next one (mailboxes are close together in my neighborhood) Before I knew it, I had run a 5K and decided to run a half marathon.

I will be celebrating my 44th birthday next month – I have now completed five half marathons (PB was 2:01 – still working on that sub 2 I see that you achieved – Congrats!), three 10 mile races, 2 10K races, and a few 5K races.

So I guess you are never too old to start!!! 🙂

I ran a LOT a few years ago, culminating in the NYC marathon in 2011, but haven’t been running as much since then due to a combination of hip issues and general lack of time. I really want to get back into running this year and do a half marathon in the summer. I’m also a new reader to your blog and have really been enjoying it!

My biggest (ongoing) achievement is definitely upping my mileage every week. I’m a college freshman, and I began running when I started school in August. I remember going to the gym the first day, and “running” on the treadmill. Back then, I could only alternate jogging 30 seconds and walking 2 minutes. I’m now up to a consistent 10 mile run, and my first half marathon is in late March. Great giveaway!

I was training for a winter half marathon earlier this fall when I strained a muscle in my back. It would have been my first half, and I was sooo excited to give it a try. It’s been 4 months since the strain, and I still haven’t been given the OK by my doctor to begin running again, but as soon as I get the green light, I am going to start training again!
