Come to Me for Cuddles

April 6, 2011 by Julie 79 Comments

After work today I swung by Target and spent nearly $70 on a buttload of paper towels, my favorite gummy vitamins, some storage containers and gum (impulse buy).

I’m beginning to think it’s impossible to go to Target without spending at least $50. Target is where my money goes to die.

Dog Park

I arrived home to a hyper dog. Ryan and I knew tonight was the perfect night for a family trip to the dog park.

DSC_0520

Sadie was stoked!

As usual, she looked to Ryan to throw her ball after ball…

DSC_0546

DSC_0527And then she came to me for cuddles because that’s what I do best. Smile

DSC_0542

I tried to be cool and throw the ball…

DSC_0530

But Sadie still preferred Ryan’s throws.

DSC_0533

They’re quite the dynamic duo. Smile

DSC_0549

We spent nearly an hour at the park before our stomachs told us it was time to head home for dinner.

Dinner

Ryan enjoyed a hodgepodge of leftovers, but I wasn’t in the mood for reheated grub and decided to make myself a smoothie bowl instead.

I wanted something sweet!

DSC_0556

Into the Vitamix I threw:

  • 1 c. frozen strawberries
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 tbsp. cocoa powder
  • 1 heaping scoop chocolate protein powder
  • 1 pinch xanthan gum
  • 1 large handful fresh spinach
  • l large spoonful peanut butter (1 1/2 – 2 tbsp.?)

While I blended everything up, I also ate a plain whole wheat tortilla because I wanted something doughy.

The smoothie bowl was so, so good! I literally slurped it down while proclaiming, “This is exactly what I’m in the mood for!” I should do smoothies for dinner more often. Now that I think about it, I should also bring back breakfast for dinner…

We did breakfast for dinner: french toast and breakfast sausage. So good! Definitely one of my favorite dinners.

Your dinner smoothie sounds great. I’m sitting here trying to decide what to make tonight – not feeling what I originally planned. Hmm…

Love the last picture of Ryan & Sadie together – so fun!

use baby powder! seriously the stuff is a miracle worker for greasy hair! also, i will wash my hair if it gets super sweaty (after cardio workouts) but after bodypump it’s not too sweaty, so i don’t think it smells (at least i HOPE not!).

Ahhh, I am sooo jealous! I decided 20 minutes ago that a smoothie was *exactly* what I wanted for dinner…45 minutes after I ate chickpeas, a pita and hummus. Needless, to say, NOT satisfying! 🙁 oh well, at least I know what’s for breakfast!! …and possibly tomorrow’s dinner!

I agree, it is nearly impossible for me to walk out of Target without spending way more than I planned & I’ve also learned that there’s no such thing as just “running in” Target either. No matter how hard I try to resist, something catches my eye & I end up wandering up and down aisles I originally had no intention of going near.

I am a relatively new follower of your blog, but it’s long overdue that I let you know how much I’ve been enjoying keeping up with your daily posts & even going back to read past ones that I missed before finding you! :O)

I am so glad you said that – I have always felt I could never get out of Target with less than a $50 purchase. I think I achieved this one time – I bought gum, a magazine and I think a water. This only happened because my boyfriend was actually the one making the purchase. Had we not went to the register I might have gotten out of there spending ZERO! That place is a money pit, but I love it so!

I usually don’t do breackfast for dinner, but there are nights when I have odd craves like
    Cream Chesse/Yougurt/Nutts/Aplle/Stevia combo !

As for Sadie, it’s normal since girls are more into their dads. If you want to be the favourite “parent”, consider taking another dog, a male.

Imagine that! As if one isn’t enough energy consuming…But it rewards you with plenty of love so it’s a Win Win situation!
