Comfy Casual

April 28, 2011 by Julie 51 Comments

barnes and nobel 001

  • Extra long beige cardigan: Grace Elements (via Marshalls)
  • White tank: Forever 21
  • Black leggings: Hue (via Macy’s)
  • Beige wedges: Charles David
  • Long gold necklace: Banana Republic Outlet
  • Gold cuff bracelet: Banana Republic Outlet
  • Headband: BIC Bands

Random tidbit: I discovered BIC Bands through SkinnyRunner who said they really don’t slip off during running. I told my mom about them and received one for my birthday and am officially in love! They really stay in place and I now want 5,000 different colors!

I need a headband like that. Mine always slip right off and I thought it was because I have a big head. haha

i’ve always thought the same thing! these have some kind of a suede-like material on the inside that really helps them grip. they’re awesome!

I too just looked at the BIC bands site and I’m in love! Headbands make getting ready in the morning go by super quick. I was thinking of caving and buying some SweatyBands (hot name, I know), but they’re $15 each!! These seem much more reasonably priced!

my birthday was this past weekend and got a few sweaty bands!! yes- way more expensive. BUT i’ll vouch for them that they dont move during a work out at all! tons of cute colors- but the big ones are really too big for my head and dont lie down like the smaller ones do. can’t wait to try these BIC bands!!!

I think I started reading in December, but I’m pretty sure I’ve gone back and read every single post 🙂 haha I just love your laid-back attitude and positive approach to pretty much food, fashion, and fitness! All this to say, this outfit is totally cute, and you wear leggings as pants if you want to wear leggings as pants, girl! I like to think of it as comfy chic 😉 you look adorable! keep posting and i’ll keep reading!

Cute headband! I’ve been looking for a headband that doesn’t slip too. Have you tried wearing these running? Do they slip when you run?

I totally agree with you – if the top covers your butt then leggings can totally be your pants! Cute outfit. 🙂

Leggings totally can be worn as pants if they are the thicker kind, and your cardigan covers your butt. I think the outfit is super cute. And on that note, time to check out the headbands mine always slip too. Sadly it really might be because my head is too big!

Lovelovelove this outfit! Leggings + long cardigans might as well be my uniform for how often I wear them 🙂

Just ignore all the mean comments – as long as you get good quality, non-see-through leggings and wear a shirt that’s a little longer, leggings are A-OK as pants in my book.

Julie, Lululemon also has head bands that don’t slip off as they have a little rubber grip on the inside. They come in all colors and even prints to match you workout clothes.
