Leftovers and freezer food to the rescue!
I took Sadie on a long walk after work and returned really hungry and not in the mood to put a lot of time or effort into dinner. I opened the freezer and this box jumped out at me!I saw this box of Morey’s Fish Creations teriyaki salmon at the grocery store a couple of weeks ago and stashed it in the freezer for easy access.
Tonight I baked two of the frozen fish filets in the oven and reheated a combination of leftover rutabaga and parsnip fries to enjoy on the side. Ryan arrived home from work just as I was pulling the fish out of the oven. He loved the salmon because he said it didn’t really taste like salmon. Ryan likes salmon, but, unlike me, it’s not his favorite fish, so he liked that the teriyaki flavor dominated the fishy flavor. I liked these salmon filets as well, but definitely prefer the fresh salmon that I prepare.
Now I’m off to pack my lunch for tomorrow and hop into bed with Ryan to read The Hunger Games. This book is getting GOOD.
