Fro Yo in Full Force

April 29, 2011 by Julie 40 Comments

It’s back in full force!

fro yo 006

Oh fro yo, I missed you during Lent!

I enjoyed this big cup of frozen yogurt outside after work today with my friend Laurel. We met up in Baldwin Park for a girly early evening of pedicures and frozen yogurt.

I arrived at the nail salon a couple minutes after Laurel and she greeted me with a bottle of light purple nail polish in her hand which inspired me to select a purple polish for my own toes.

fro yo 008

As a typically pink polish only kind of girl, I feel quite sassy with my purple toes! I told Laurel I wanted a “European-looking” polish for my upcoming trip (I leave on Wednesday!!!) and we laughed because we have no idea what toe nail polish colors are cool overseas. European readers, please feel free to educate us!

Laurel and I hung out for around two hours before saying our goodbyes. It was great to spend some time with her! Laurel works full-time and is in grad school so she’s a busy bee and I always cherish our time together.

When I arrived back at our apartment, Ryan and Sadie were out on a walk, but fortunately they weren’t too far from home and I was able to meet up with them and join them for a one-mile loop around the neighborhood. The weather this evening is gorgeous. We’re cherishing it while we can because soon the Florida weather will be sweat-inducing within five seconds of stepping outside.

Since Ryan ate dinner while I was out with Laurel, I was on my own tonight. I felt like putting zero effort into making dinner and ended up eating my bodyweight in pistachios and Swedish Fish.

Multiply that serving by eight… or twelve. Maybe fifteen. I couldn’t stop!

I am also happy to report that Swedish Fish are now gone. Those little buggers have been taunting me all week and I couldn’t keep my hand out of the bag!

I didn’t plan to consume nuts and candy for dinner, but both pistachios and Swedish Fish are seriously addicting and I couldn’t stop! I kind of feel a little blah now. I think my body missed vegetables this evening.

Now I’m off to try to take it easy for the rest of the night because the remainder of our weekend is go-go-go!

First up: Ryan and I are heading to Gainesville to celebrate my sister’s college graduation from the University of Florida. I’m so proud!

The fro-yo looks great! You’re smart to put berries and fruit on yours.. I usually can’t stop myself from piling on loads of chocolate, whether that comes in the form of brownie bits, Reese’s, m&ms, etc.. . yum!

Hey, anything really goes here in England 🙂 The rest of Europe I’m not so sure on as we have a completely different style…

Coral and mushroom/nude tones are in right now where I am! Also, if you google ‘barry m cracked effect’ that will show you the latest- you paint a black layer over whatever colour you’re wearing and it ‘cracks’ in an almost leopard print effect pattern! <3 it.
    Enjoy your trip x

    Hiya!
I’ve been reading your blog for a few weeks now and it always brightens my day! I’m an American in England studying abroad with my fiance and your comment about European toenail trends made me think to warn you- its crazy over here! I was a bit overwhelmed by the amount of.. uh, style that surrounds you at every moment when I first arrived this past January. I live in a college town so maybe that is a contributing factor. Either way, get ready to see some crazy/inspiring stuff! Have a blast in Europe and thanks for your great blog!

I am a red toe kinda girl – though they are currently pistachio green 🙂

I am surprised how many women in Europe don’t paint their toes! At least in Spain! Also strange is the lack of toe showing. Even in the hot summer I will se SO many closed toe shoes. The Spaniard would rather be caught dead than in flip flops! I told him this will change when we move to FL 🙂
