Halloween Treats

October 31, 2013 by Julie 1,595 Comments

This Halloween is full of treats!

The treats began last night in our house when Ryan and I exchanged our anniversary gifts. I totally dropped the ball and didn’t end up finding anything leather, so I veered from the traditional anniversary gift themes and gave him clothes and a little box of goodies.

3 year anniversary gift

I attached little cards to various food and beverage items that I know Ryan likes and used the name of the item in a sentence about why I love being married to him!

For example, attached to a bag of Combos pretzels, I wrote a card that said I love you because “you’re the perfect COMBO-nation of playful, loving, supportive and fun!” On a bag of Smartfood popcorn I wrote, “You’re SMART and challenge me… in a good way!” It was a fun project and I hope it conveyed to Ryan just how much he means to me.

Gift Idea - label favorite foods and use the name in a sentence about why you love them

We don’t normally go all-out for anniversary gifts, so I was shocked when I opened Ryan’s gift to me and found a beautiful new leather purse that can be both a cross-body purse or a clutch.

Tory Burch Clutch

He went above and beyond and saved for it and I absolutely love what he picked out! I was shocked and so impressed and told him that I will wear it all day and all night! He definitely put my gift to shame. Thank you, Ryan!!

Treats continued at work today. Even though I work at a gym, we’re not above celebrating with a little candy!

DOTS Candy

My coworkers made fun of me because I grabbed a box of DOTS. Do people not like DOTS? I am so out of the loop. It’s not like I was loving on Bit O’ Honeys or something! Give me a little credit!

Once I was done working and teaching, I headed home for a late lunch which came together in no time at all thanks to leftovers.

I reheated last night’s crock pot dish of pulled chicken, potatoes, carrots and onion and ate it with an apple and a Reese’s peanut butter cup.

It was delicious!

And now it’s time to share a little Halloween treat with you!

YourReebok Giveaway

I have a feeling quite a few of you will be pumped for this giveaway!

This month, through my on-going partnership with Reebok, I was able to experience the company’s YourReebok page which allows people to customize shoes using various colors and personalization touches.

Design Your Own Reebok Shoe

Since the Reebok Nano Speed has quickly become by all-time favorite Reebok shoe, I knew they were the pair of shoes I wanted to use as my design guinea pig!

I spent a little too long on the website and think I designed four different shoes before I finally settled on a certain look.

Reebok Nano Design Your Own

Personalized Reebok Shoes

And yes, you can personalize the back of the shoes! I ended up opting out of that feature because I couldn’t think of anything more creative than my name to put on the back of my shoe, but I’m sure people come up with some awesome nicknames or funny taglines!

I played around with super bright colors, muted colors, lots of white and lots of color but in the end I put together a shoe with lots of purple and gray and a touch of light blue. reebok custom nanos

They should be arriving sometime next week and I am pumped to put them to good use!

And now it’s your turn to customize a pair of Reebok shoes!!! One PBF reader will win a gift card to customize the Reebok shoes of their choice.

To enter this giveaway, simply comment below, answering one (or all) of the following questions:

  1. Which pair of Reebok shoes would you customize?
  2. What colors do you think you would incorporate into your design?
  3. If you personalize your shoes, what would you want them to say?

I will randomly select a winner on Monday morning.

Good luck!!!

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

I think the nanos would be the best- I’ve heard such great things about them. I would LOVE a purple pair.. maybe with a touch of gray. I’m not sure if I could think of something clever to say, so probably wouldn’t put anything on the back.

I actually LOVE Dots. Not as much as Snickers, but they’re probably my favorite non-chocolate and they are so hard to find! Also, side note, my aunt is obsessed with Bit ‘O Honey, and they aren’t that bad either.

I totally am dying for a pair of nano’s.

I would personalize with Run on the Left side and Faster on the Right.

Or Never Quit. Or Work Harder. Imagine It. Or a weight goal on each shoe might be nice. or a PR goal for a race. you get the idea.

I would customize the Nano Speed, since you think so highly of them and they would complement my running shoes well. I would love to make them majority turquoise with some dark purple and gray accents, and maybe put a motivational saying on the back!

    Hi Julie!

I would love a custom pair of the Nano’s!
I’m all about blue -a snazzy navy blue pair would be perfect!
I think I would put my nick name on the shoes: “Kare-Bare”

I would love a pair of nanos! Coral and yellow would be my choice for colors and I would personalize it with ALS.
ALS is short for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis or Lou Gehrig’s Disease. My mom and so many others suffer from this debilitating disease and there is currently not a cure. I run for all of the individuals with ALS and their families.

I love a good light weight, flexible running shoe! Since I run mostly indoors, I like a crips white shoe with a pop of color, maybe green or purple, and I don’t know if I’m clever enough to come up with a worthy personalization… :/

I want a pair of cross training shoes, so I think the nanos would be perfect! I am not into really BRIGHT shoes so I’d probably go with blacks/greys/blues/purples 🙂 If I customized them I’d just use my initials since many people refer to me by them.

I have no idea what shoe I’d personalize. I’d have to look at the site more but I know I would need good ankle support! Bright colors are a favorite, especially for running shoes…maybe a yellow and blue combo? I’m like you and my personalizing would probably just be my name 😛 Such a neat giveaway!

P.S. I have always loved dots! I haven’t seen them anywhere in ages though.
