Halloween Treats

October 31, 2013 by Julie 1,595 Comments

This Halloween is full of treats!

The treats began last night in our house when Ryan and I exchanged our anniversary gifts. I totally dropped the ball and didn’t end up finding anything leather, so I veered from the traditional anniversary gift themes and gave him clothes and a little box of goodies.

3 year anniversary gift

I attached little cards to various food and beverage items that I know Ryan likes and used the name of the item in a sentence about why I love being married to him!

For example, attached to a bag of Combos pretzels, I wrote a card that said I love you because “you’re the perfect COMBO-nation of playful, loving, supportive and fun!” On a bag of Smartfood popcorn I wrote, “You’re SMART and challenge me… in a good way!” It was a fun project and I hope it conveyed to Ryan just how much he means to me.

Gift Idea - label favorite foods and use the name in a sentence about why you love them

We don’t normally go all-out for anniversary gifts, so I was shocked when I opened Ryan’s gift to me and found a beautiful new leather purse that can be both a cross-body purse or a clutch.

Tory Burch Clutch

He went above and beyond and saved for it and I absolutely love what he picked out! I was shocked and so impressed and told him that I will wear it all day and all night! He definitely put my gift to shame. Thank you, Ryan!!

Treats continued at work today. Even though I work at a gym, we’re not above celebrating with a little candy!

DOTS Candy

My coworkers made fun of me because I grabbed a box of DOTS. Do people not like DOTS? I am so out of the loop. It’s not like I was loving on Bit O’ Honeys or something! Give me a little credit!

Once I was done working and teaching, I headed home for a late lunch which came together in no time at all thanks to leftovers.

I reheated last night’s crock pot dish of pulled chicken, potatoes, carrots and onion and ate it with an apple and a Reese’s peanut butter cup.

It was delicious!

And now it’s time to share a little Halloween treat with you!

YourReebok Giveaway

I have a feeling quite a few of you will be pumped for this giveaway!

This month, through my on-going partnership with Reebok, I was able to experience the company’s YourReebok page which allows people to customize shoes using various colors and personalization touches.

Design Your Own Reebok Shoe

Since the Reebok Nano Speed has quickly become by all-time favorite Reebok shoe, I knew they were the pair of shoes I wanted to use as my design guinea pig!

I spent a little too long on the website and think I designed four different shoes before I finally settled on a certain look.

Reebok Nano Design Your Own

Personalized Reebok Shoes

And yes, you can personalize the back of the shoes! I ended up opting out of that feature because I couldn’t think of anything more creative than my name to put on the back of my shoe, but I’m sure people come up with some awesome nicknames or funny taglines!

I played around with super bright colors, muted colors, lots of white and lots of color but in the end I put together a shoe with lots of purple and gray and a touch of light blue. reebok custom nanos

They should be arriving sometime next week and I am pumped to put them to good use!

And now it’s your turn to customize a pair of Reebok shoes!!! One PBF reader will win a gift card to customize the Reebok shoes of their choice.

To enter this giveaway, simply comment below, answering one (or all) of the following questions:

  1. Which pair of Reebok shoes would you customize?
  2. What colors do you think you would incorporate into your design?
  3. If you personalize your shoes, what would you want them to say?

I will randomly select a winner on Monday morning.

Good luck!!!

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

Wow! Ryan did great with the purse!!

I’d be down for any reebok. Green or pink!

And probably something like “go my own way.” I like the personalization!

    1. I would probably go for one of the Nano family…maybe the 3.0? I need something more for functional training than running (i am NOT a runner)

    2. I can be totally girlie in some things-not my workouts, but my workout gear? yes. so, i’d go for a bright turquoise-y color with either hot pink or purple 🙂

    3. I am not creative enough for anything fun, so i’d probably leave that be… or get “not now.” because sometimes people (guys) think it’s okay to engage me in a conversation while I’m lifting…it’s not.

I would really like to try the nanos for stability during circuits. Pink and grey would be awesome and I wound personalize them with “Wont Stop”

I would choose the Nano’s. I’m im need of a black pair of shoes but would also include a bright pink or purple. I have never owned a pair of reeboks and wonder how they would compare to my nikes.

I would LOVE to customize a pair of Nanos!! Most likely a red/pink shoe because I’ve been dying for a pair in that color! I’d keep the wording simple with my name (so creative, I know :P).

I would try the crossfit nano speed shoes probably as I have the nanos already and they are great for lifting but hard on the knees to run in and I would like a more versatile shoe! However the lifters would be neat to try as well! I would design a crazy colored shoe with lots of bright colors like the ultra violet and the pink and bright blues! and my shoes would say GO HARD!

I’d probably go with a mostly black shoe with a couple of funky accent colors… neon green and purple!

If I personalized them, I’d probably put my roller derby name on there.

I would LOVE to customize a pair of nanos! I recently invested in a pretty expensive pair of running shoes, and am in serious need of a sturdy, low-to-the-ground shoe to use while strength training. It’s so difficult to balance while doing squats and lunges that I’m sometimes reluctant to lift during the week… having a pair of nanos would hopefully help motivate me to get back on track!

I would LOVE a pair of the Nanos, I started Crossfit a few months ago and am considering buying ‘proper’ shoes for my workouts and LOVE that you can customize them on their site, I have a pair stored that are red and bright blue (both colours I love)
As for the personalisation, I recently got declared NED (No Evidence of Disease) after fighting stomach cancer for the last year and a bit so I’d get that date on them – the day I could start looking forward again and to remember you’re ALWAYS stronger than you think you can ever be!

I would LOVE nanos to use during circuit workouts and BodyPump. I’m kind of over the super bright shoe thing so I’d do mostly grey with a splash of color, probably teal or blue so I can wear them with pink OR red and black OR brown.

I actually think I would get “free indeed” on then. I really like the verse it comes from and it has a lot of personal meaning to me after battling through some issues. I struggle with body image and being obsessive more at the gym than anywhere and this would be a fun reminder to myself that I am not held captive of that anymore. Instead, I am free and free indeed 🙂

Plus it’s a lot less lame than just my name.

I would definitely go with the Nano Speed as I’ve heard plenty of positive reviews about them and am in dire need of some new cross-training workout shoes. I would probably incorporate green, blue, and maybe some yellow and/or purple into the design, but I know it’ll take me a while to make up my mind if given the opportunity!

I am not well educated on the types of Reeboks (a sneaker is a sneaker, right??) 😀 so I’d have to look at my options, but for the colors, I would go with a color scheme I don’t already have so maybe white and purple! Maybe no tagline for me… not until I can think of something witty enough 😉

I’d pick a shoe that would be good for walking when I’m shooting an event (i’m a sports photographer) and go with either Navy colors (blue & gold) or something with red (my company color)…. Hi there,
It’s my first comment on your blog, but I just couldn’t resist anymore when I saw this amazing concept. We temporarily live on a very tight budget, but try to purchase good quality shoes whenever possible because it’s a long time investment. My husband ADORES Reebok and this will be a great Christmas gift in advance. He would most likely choose blue and gray and write something bold like “Never give up” or “Dream big”!
