Healthy Holidays Giveaway Week: Day Two

December 4, 2012 by Julie 1,351 Comments

It’s day two of Healthy Holidays Giveaway Week and the fitness fun is just beginning!

Healthy Holidays Giveaway Week

Today we’re keeping the festivities rolling with a compression shorts giveaway!

Aspaeris Compression Shorts Giveaway

As someone who discovered the benefits of compression gear only a year ago, I fell hard and fast for compression clothing, sleeves and socks.

The Aspaeris Pivot Shorts are my favorite pair of compression shorts – I have them in navy blue and red – and when I reached out to the company about a giveaway, they enthusiastically agreed. Hooray!

Aspaeris Pivot Shorts

They also threw in the added bonus of 25 percent off the compression shorts on their website for PBF readers just in case you don’t win but still want to try their gear. (Just use the code PBFINGERS on the Aspaeris website and you’ll get the discount.)

The Aspaeris Pivot Shorts are actually two shorts in one.

According to the company, the outer short is a high performance compression short designed to support your muscles while the inner short features Dual Sensory Compression Bands™. These cross-knit bands guide your muscles into the proper position, thereby improving your pivot performance which helps prevent ACL and hip injuries.

Pivot Compression Shorts

They’ll keep you nice and snug!

To enter this giveaway, please leave a comment below telling me about your experience (or lack of experience!) with compression gear.

I will randomly select a winner on Thursday morning.

Good luck!

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

I have zero experience with compression gear! But I recently injured my hip and have been out of commission in regards to running so maybe this is something I need when I can return!

I have never tried compression gear, but I am trying to loose the weight I put on after my wedding and have started running. I am a TERRIBLE runner! After a 1/2 mile I think I am dying. However, I have always wanted to be a “runner”. I want to go out and just run and not feel like it’s killing me. I am currently on week five of a 10k training app that I downloaded.

I have heard about compression gear from people who train for 1/2 marathons and full marathons. Doing a 1/2 marathon (after a 10k) is my future goal. I’d love to have the gear to look at when I don’t feel like running and use when I am working on reaching my goal. 🙂

    Thank you!

I’ve been wearing compression shorts for what it seems like all my life! It usually was to prevent turf burn, or those nasty burns from gymnasium floors, or just about anything resulting from falling during sports! As of lately they’re also to keep me from flashing everyone in lacrosse games (we wear skirts!). I’ve never thought of the fact that compression shorts really DO help you with injury prevention and muscle stabilization. Would love to try these out!

Looooove the Aspaeris brand of compression shorts!!! I have pairs in black & red and I sleep in them nearly every night. SkinnyRunner’s posts on compression totally turned me on to their wonders and I have been faithful to compression gear ever since.

I have compression sleeves for my calves for long runs, I really like not getting so sore after longer runs. I have never tried shorts, might have to give them a try.

I hurt my ankle a couple of years ago and my physical therapist suggested wearing compression socks while is slept to help circulation. It actually helped a lot. Now that I’m getting back into running, I’ve pulled out the sock again.

Not gonna lie, I have two pairs of Aspaeris, and would LOVE to win a pair to gift to one of my running friends who has been skeptical on the whole ‘compression’ trend. I swear by them, though. Amazing.

Awesome giveaway! I JUST bought compression socks in October and wore them once for a couple hours. I totally didn’t buy into the compression craze…until yesterday! I wore them knowing my calves would be aching when I woke up in the morning. Shockingly, they weren’t sore at all! I totally credit the socks.

I’ve never tried compression shorts before and definitely never seen double layer shorts like Aspaeris! My hips tend to hurt whenever I run, so the extra support could be just what I need! Love the bright color as well 🙂

I’ve never tried compression shorts but man could I have used them after my first 5K! I had reconstructive knee surgery a couple years ago so I was pretty nervous about “injuring” my knee again from running such a far distance (atleast for me it is). But to my surprise, my knee felt just fine after! However, my hips were another story. I could barely walk after, it was bad! I think these compression shorts would really help me and would definitely give me some piece of mind before running my next race. 🙂

I just got my first pair of compression socks within the last couple of months. I do have to say I was skeptical of how they would work, but I absolutely love them!! I now have a pair of compression pants that work great for winter running (I live in Wisconsin) but would love to try shorts when Wedl get our short but sweet summers 😉

I’ve never tried compression gear before, I have this weird thinking that it will be tighter than spandex and just “compress” me, ha I don’t know why…but I have heard multiple people say it’s one of the best things for running and since I tore some ligaments in my knee back in high school, maybe it would help support that better with my running now.

I have worn Under Armour compression shorts for triathlons because I can transition from the water to bike without having to change. They keep everything so snug that I feel extra strong in the quads. This is the only brand I’ve ever tried but I would love to see another brands performance!

I have never worn compression shorts but I am always looking for a comfy new pair of shorts for running, there is something that is slightly motivational about having new gear to run in that makes my morning runs before classes much more enjoyable!

I like compression gear because it provides more coverage when I’m working out. Also I like the shorts because I am able to keep extra tennis balls in the shorts while playing tennis.

I always wear compression socks after long runs, but never gave much consideration to the shorts. I just found out that I have a third stress fracture from running, and hip stretching and strengthening were recommended. Maybe these will help keep me injury free?
