Here Comes Crazy

July 9, 2012 by Julie 28 Comments

Sadie did quite well at her vet appointment today.

Can’t you tell?

After a nervous five minutes quivering on my lap in the waiting room, Sadie got her Lyme disease booster shot and we were on our way. I laughed because when the veterinary assistant brought her to me from the back room after her shot, I could hear her little nails sliding all over the tile floor as she tried to run ahead of him. To the woman at the front desk I said, “Here comes the crazy!” I love my little nut job.

Our vet just happens to be located right across the street from a frozen yogurt shop, so you know what that means.

I got a cup of cheesecake frozen yogurt topped with cheesecake pieces, sprinkles, yogurt-covered pretzels, whipped cream and a drizzle of peanut butter sauce. I avoided chocolate toppings so Sadie could have the last few licks of my cup. Sharing is caring.

Dinner

I wasn’t incredibly hungry by the time dinner rolled around, but I cleared my plate and was left feeling awfully stuffed. At least it was a nutritious meal!

In the bowl:

  • Chicken thighs, sautéed in olive oil and garlic salt
  • Roasted Brussels sprouts
  • Roasted chickpeas

I typically throw chickpeas into a meal straight out of the can after rinsing them, but roasting the chickpeas gave them a chewier texture that added a lot to the dish.

Off to walk Sadie with Ryan before planting my butt on the couch for the next episode of The Bachelorette. Top three, baby!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

who do you think is going to win? i think it’s between jef and arie even though i like sean! she just seems way more into those guys and almost seems like she’s trying to make herself like sean more than she does, in my opinion.

i loove sean (and his “messy” room, haha!), but I agree with you, I think it’ll be between Jef and Arie for her…..I feel like she’s going to pick Jef in the end. I wasn’t too sure about him at the beginning but he’s growing on me.

But Jef looks like her child! Argh, I think he’s great I just can’t get over how creepy they would look together. Too young and perfect. The episode tonight was absolutely painful to watch!

Haha oh Sadie is adorable :D. I took my kitten to the vet last week so she could be put on anti-anxiety meds. Needless to say, they weren’t calling her crazy, they were telling people to be quiet because they had a frightened kitty on their hands! Hope you have a great evening Julie!

My dog is the SAME WAY at the vet! She always hides in the corner/under a chair and shakes violently. I feel so bad, but it’s kind of cute 🙂

Sadie is ridiculously adorable! Haha, she’s too cute. And I’ve never roasted my chickpeas, but I should give it a try sometime!

I was pretty stoked for Bachelorette tonight! It’s always the best when it gets down this close. I peaked at realitysteve for the winner, so am just watching in silence.

Chickpeas are definitely better when they’re roasted – I’m just too impatient 99.9% of the time.

Glad the vet appointment went well…Sadie’s so cute!

I keep hearing about this chickpea roasting thing and I MUST try it. It looks so good and I’m sure they taste even better then when they’re just out of the can + rinsed (that’s all I ever do too)!

Re the Bachelorette: This is a classic case of the good guy versus the ‘bad’ boy. Hopefully in this case the nice guy won’t finish last, but I think he will. She likes guys with “an edge.” Arie is very superficial and immature and will be traveling a lot. It’s hard picturing him as a father. Arie would have NEVER thought of giving up the fantasy suite out of respect for her. Jeff does look younger but so what? I bet if she took off the pound of makeup she wears that she would look more her age. Just sayin. Jeff has really shown he has what it takes to be a caring husband and father and it’s not fake. I REALLY hope she picks Jeff.

The Bachelorette was good last night! I’m rooting for Jef all the way! I think she has a much better connection with him. I’m really getting sick of seeing Arie eat Emily’s face. It’s gross!

I just started watching that show this week, I think I’m on episode 6. I’ve never watched them before but I find myself sucked in, and I actually like Emily which I think is why I’m watching. I like Jef and the age thing is so not an issue. My Husband is four years younger than me and a much better husband and Father than anyone my age or older I’ve met could have possibly been.

I love adding peanut butter sauce to my fro yo! Hm, I just realized I’ll be driving past my favorite fro yo place today & I just may have to make a stop. It’s a 30-ish minute drive from my house, so I don’t get to go too often!

Hahaha my dog cannot handle the vet. He doesn’t even like being in the car because he assumes every time he is, he’s going to the vet. I don’t think the vet likes my dog very much either because of his remarkably bad behavior on every visit haha. We’ve tried muzzling him, tried knocking him out (the drugs literally had zero effect on my dog, so…haha): nothing works. Poor guy 🙁

Ahh! How about that episode of the bachelorette!! I didn’t see that coming… now I’m really thrown off who I want/think is going to win. I was thinking… they should add a date where Ricki is involved to see who she likes more… what do you think?

My sister in law made sweet, roasted chickpeas and they were delicious. Thankfully my husband doesn’t like beans of any kind so I get them all to myself. 😛
