How Much Would You Pay For…

April 29, 2014 by Julie 84 Comments

Today’s workout took me out of my usual routine. I found myself in a late morning Piloxing class in between shifts at work. I’ve taken Piloxing at my gym a handful of times before, but work conflicts have prevented me from taking it in the recent months.

Today I had a free hour at the same time as the class, so I headed into the gymnasium to kick and punch my little heart out for 50 minutes. I left sufficiently sweaty!

After class, I worked up until lunchtime rolled around and I had time to break away and meet up with Ryan for a smoothie lunch date. Ryan has been raving about the veggie blend smoothies at Smoothie King ever since he and his friend Eric tried them during a work break one day and I was excited to order one this afternoon.

Smoothie King Veggie Blends

I selected the carrot kale dream that combined carrots, kale, bananas, orange juice, apple juice and vanilla protein powder.

Carrot Kale Dream Smoothie King

It was sweet and tasty but didn’t keep me full for nearly as long as I anticipated. An hour or so later, I felt grateful for the Kashi granola bar I threw into my purse before I left the house this morning.

And now for a little fun…

How Much Would You Pay For…

If you follow me on Twitter, you may have seen this tweet last night:

PBFingers Tweet

(This is a billion-dollar idea that needs to become mainstream. Someone get on that!)

Anyway, as Ryan and I sat on the couch with Sadie last night, I shared my intense desire for delivery ice cream with him. This inevitably turned into the two of us playing one of our favorite hypothetical games that we’ve dubbed “How Much Would You Pay For…”

It’s a very basic and highly entertaining game that we play on hikes with Sadie or road trips. It’s like playing around with imaginary money since most of the hypotheticals we come up with will never happen. Here are some of last night’s “How Much Would You Pay For” questions along with my answers:

  • How much would you pay for someone to show up at our front door with a bowl of your favorite ice cream right now? $30. Yes, I really wanted a bowl of ice cream last night.
  • How much would you pay to be able to hear Sadie’s thoughts for one day? $800 (What’s sick is that I’d probably go higher than this and her thoughts would be, “CHICKEN!” “Walk!?” “I have to go potty.” “Let me out.” “FRISBEE!!!!!!!”)
  • How much would you pay to be able to go back to college for one week? Assuming the week would not include any tests and all of my best friends would be there for a full week in our old sorority house, I’d probably pay $500+. (Yo, Kappa Delta, I think this would be an awesome alumnae fundraiser.) My girlfriends live all over the place, so the thought of having everyone together sounds incredible to me! <—For those still in college with your best friends, let this be a reminder to cherish your time!

Now it’s your turn…

Questions of the Afternoon

  • How much would you pay for someone to deliver your favorite food to your front door any time you want it? (Yes, I realize this answer will be influenced by the value of the food.)
  • How much would you pay to be able to hear your pet’s thoughts for one day?
  • How much would you pay to be able to go back to college for one week, assuming the week would not include any tests and all of your best friends would be there?

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

You will find this amazing, because after reading your blog I see that you travel to Boston occasionally….but we have delivery fro-yo in our neighborhood! We live in Fenway, and there is a place called Cafe 472 and you can add as many toppings as you want (I usually add peanut butter and chunks of cookie dough, like real cookie dough). The fro-yo comes in vanilla and chocolate and tastes just like ice cream when you add in all the toppings! It’s unreal, and we happen to order way more than we should! I just might have to order tonight….

I was going to tell you about the same place! Fortunately, I live on the same block in Fenway as Cafe 472, so I never have taken advantage of their delivery services (it’s really like right outside my front door), but it’s a brilliant idea! And I totally agree with Amber about how amazing it is!

Delivery Fro-Yo is my dream. I would definitely be ordering that more often than I should. Is it crazy expensive? I feel like I’d pay $10 for delivery fro-yo or ice cream without even thinking twice about it.

Not expensive at all! The base is like 3.50 and then it’s like 50 cents to 60 cents per topping. Not bad at all….and I mean who can complain when it’s delivered cold to your door step 🙂 Plus, they LOAD on the toppings…no joke!

I am totally obsessed with my Vizsla too so I’d probably spend silly money on hearing his thoughts. (I often think about sneaking him to a dog whisperer)!! My husband and I often talk for him and we always wonder if he is actually thinking something totally different or something as simple as ‘FRISBEE’ like you said.

Your tweet last night made me think of a company here in Houston called Tiff’s Treats. They actually will deliver cookies + Blue Bell ice cream and/or Starbucks coffee (the grocery store kind in the bottles). There’s a couple locations near my med school so during exams, it’s not uncommon for someone to place an order and then announce via our FB group where in the school they can come snag a cookie.

I don’t currently have a dog but I have always wanted to know what my dogs were thinking in the past so I would say at least a few hundred

If it meant going back to college for a week with no responsibilities and all my sorority sisters back as well I would probably pay $500-1000 maybe more 😉 I couldn’t agree with you more when you tell those still there to cherish it because there is nothing really like it!!

YES! We have this in Texas (as Ashley pointed out above)! Tiff’s Treats is amazinggggggg and seriously the best idea ever. I think their delivery fee is only like $5-10. Worth it for a warm cookie and/or brownie with ice cream.

-How much would you pay to be able to hear your pet’s thoughts for one day?

Well my Great Dane sleeps about 18 hours a day so he probably doesn’t say much. But I’d definitely still pay $500 easily.

-How much would you pay to be able to go back to college for one week, assuming the week would not include any tests and all of your best friends would be there?

Thankfully all of my friends live within 2-3 hours of each other. We all head back to Baylor during football season and tailgate our butts off! And that’s free (not including the cost of the game ticket and beer :))

I would pay a RIDICULOUS amount of money to hear either one of my dogs’ thoughts. Their little faces seem so expressive, but I still would love to know what’s really going on…

lol – delivery ice cream is one of “my” million dollar ideas! That, and a “parking space” for buggies in front of every parking space at the grocery store that are all connected (like an open path) so when the employee collects them, they’re all in a line and just get pushed right to the front of store and lazy people won’t leave them all over the parking lot.

You can’t imagine how strongly this posts hits home with me today. I was doing fine until you mentioned college! Last night me and my pledge class sisters sat in our last Zeta meeting together with tears in our eyes the whole time. It’s a surreal feeling to think next fall we won’t be sitting in that room again. Now it’s like every day feels different because we know after these 2 weeks are over our lives will never be the same again. Some of my sisters will be moving on to real jobs across the country while a few of us will remain here to finish school. But things are going to drastically change for us and it’s sad, yet exciting. I know several of us have had breakdowns for the past month on having to leave each other. As a freshman I had no idea how fast time would fly and how awfully hard it is to think about your best friends leaving. I’m already wishing we had one more week free of school work that we could spend together!

I have no idea how much I would pay to have food delivered to me! I live 60 miles from the nearest delivery restaurant. I dream about sushi being delivered to me all the time. I’m not sure there is a price I wouldn’t pay.

I would probably pay 500 dollars to hear my dog Molly’s thoughts. Why 500? That’s how much it cost to get the stairs built to the house that she chews on all the time. I just want to know why!!

I”m not sure if I would pay to go back to a week of college. It all depends on if the alcohol is free because my friends and I spent way to much money on beer 😀 Assuming drinks are included in the price, I would probably pay the cost of one semester. I loved college so much and wish I was still there some days. Life was so easy, tests included.

Favorite food delivery? $10. I’d actually rather cook it myself or walk/drive to get it but since I’m in a city I’m a little spoiled when it comes to take out.

My dog’s thoughts? I’d pay it all. My husband and I speak for him all the time and we think he’s a very dignified little guy. I’m sure he’d have some wisdom or philosophy to share with us. That, or he’d just tell me to stop picking him up and snuggling him all the time and not speak for the rest of the day just to get even with me.

College? I would actually love to spend a day with my husband in his college. He went to a huge school and had/has a really close group of friends. I’d love to know what he was like back then!

My mom and I discussed the how much would you pay to hear your pets thoughts for a day. With her cat we don’t need to pay. He will meow and basically he will want food. We have figured out if he doesn’t get fed the exact moment he wants to be fed he will follow us around the apartment looking pathetic and crying till we feed him.

As for my cat, she’s going to be 20 and tends to sleep the majority of the time. Otherwise she just wants to cuddle with me.

But I would seriously pay like $1000 to hear any one of my aunt Norma’s pets thoughts. she has 2 dogs and 5 cats I think and they are seriously spoiled!

My first thought was pregnant women would be a wonderful customer group for fro-yo/ice cream delivery. Especially when it’s so hot in FL. You could even expand your line of frozen things and deliver frozen cheesecake on a stick or frozen chocolate dipped bananas rolled in nuts….limitless options…

I am a 2 minute drive from a drive through ice cream place so it is basically the next best thing to delivery bc I can go in PJs 😉 And I live in my college town so during football season I basically have a “go back to college” experience every gameday weekend when all of our friends come back to stay with us and go to games and relive our glory days.

I would easily pay $20 for some ice cream delivery! I’m always a little embarrassed to go into a store by myself and just get ice cream. I know people have to think I just got dumped … Or I’m pregnant …

I am 5 minutes from a from-yo place but I would pay $10 to have it delivered. Actually that’s a stellar idea for AZ since we eat it year round practically. I don’t have a pet but to go back to college I would pay $100. I’m pretty content with where I am in life and really don’t have a strong desire to go back. This should totally be a board game!

If you were to move to Kuwait, you could get your ice cream delivered! Actually, you can have anything delivered. Even groceries & coffee 🙂

Ooh, I’d easily pay $500 to go back to college for a week. My best friends and I always meet back on campus for homecoming weekend to play college for a few days. It’s one of my favorite weekends of the year!
