How to Make Packing Less Miserable

November 6, 2010 by Julie 24 Comments

As you may remember, I am not a fan of packing. I detest it. I dread it. I put it off until the last possible second.

Way to put off packing # 1: Dog park!

After breakfast, Ryan, Sadie and I piled into the car and headed to the dog park to pay fetch and enjoy the crisp fall weather.

dog park 016 dog park 003As always, Sadie was super popular among the other dogs. Ryan and I call her the dog park tease because she always gets the other dogs all riled up by rolling over and showing them her goodies, and then she runs away and only wants to play with her humans.

dog park 014Sadie is also extremely jealous. She was not happy when I let another dog give me kisses. 🙂

Luckily she forgave my momentary indiscretion once I turned my attention back to the little princess.

dog park 031We spent a little more than an hour at the dog park before heading home and officially booking the second half of our honeymoon.

Any guesses what we’re doing?

Here’s a clue: We will have inordinate amounts of food at our disposal at all times.

Ryan wanted the clue to be this: It can’t quite possibly not be something Captain Nemo might not do. He wanted to make you guys think… or leave you extremely confused. 😀

With the second half of our honeymoon planned, we headed out to run some errands and pick up lunch at Moe’s.

Post lunch, we headed home and got our packing on.

Though I was seriously dreading packing for more than a weeks worth of activities, I discovered a way to make the experience slightly less miserable.

dog park 033Bust out some show tunes!

After singing my way through half of Legally Blonde: The Musical, my bags were packed and I was in a good mood! dog park 036Then it was time to load the car and head to my parents’ house in St. Pete for the night!

I’m actually blogging from the road and it’s making me feel a little car sick… I better get back to being a good passenger and keep Ryan company.

See ya in the morning for the start of our honeymoon! 😀

I am sure that you are going to have an amazing time on your cruise. Do you think that you will go to St. Lucia on your anniversary as you had already paid for it or did they refund your money??
