If You Could Judge a Reality Show

June 12, 2013 by Julie 76 Comments

Good afternoon!

I hope your day is going well so far.

This morning, after I published my morning blog post, I drove to the gym for a quick workout. I took my favorite boot camp class at the gym before I had to attend a quick meeting.

During the meeting one of the women I was talking to brought cupcakes in for everyone to enjoy. She said she was inspired to make them after watching an episode of Cupcake Wars on her DVR the other night. We started talking about how sweet it would be to be a judge on that show. Wouldn’t that be an awesome gig?

We then talked about what shows we’d love to judge if we were able to guest judge any reality competition show currently on the air.

My top selections?

  • So You Think You Can Dance

So You Think You Can Dance

Oh how I wish I could dance. I wouldn’t be able to offer any technical critiques, making me a worthless judge, but I would gladly sit at the judge’s table and gush over the incredible athleticism of the dancers.

  • Chopped

Chopped--Episode 905--Four Champion Chefs Compete for a $50,000 prize--Pictured L to R: Judges- Chefs Marc Murphy, Alex Guarnaschelii, Aaron Sanchez, and Host Ted Allen -- as Seen on Food Network's Chopped Season 9

Even though the chefs competing on this show often have to cook with some pretty obscure ingredients, the dishes they end up creating almost always look fabulous! I’d also love to guest judge Top Chef, but I haven’t watched that show in quite a while, so Chopped won out!

Lunch

Once the meeting and reality show conversations were over, I drove home and prepared lunch.

quesadilla

I made myself a quesadilla with leftover chicken from last night’s dinner, cheese and corn and served it with roasted broccoli.

chicken corn quesadilla

Fabulous!

Now it’s time for me to hop in the shower and head back out for my shift at the gym!

Question of the Afternoon

  • If you could guest judge any reality competition show, what show would you want to judge?

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

I would have to choose Top Chef… although Chopped would be my second choice! I saw one of the judges, Chef Marc Murphy, when I was out to dinner last week. It’s an open kitchen concept so my boyfriend and I were talking to the charcutier/ cheesemonger as they sent a giant platter of food over to his table, on the house. I think that alone makes me want to be a judge!

I finally started watching this season’s SYTYCD. As someone who’s taken dance all their life, I judge it at home by myself already, so I think I should petition FOX to pay me for my opinions.

Hmm the only “reality” shows I watch don’t involve judges – Survivor and The Bachelor/Bachelorette. Maybe I could be the first Bachelorette judge and rate all the guys on 3 very important categories: abs, guns (and I’m not talking about the weapons), and tooshies. Hehe – I’m totally kidding. 😉

Chopped for sure. I am constantly wondering how all those crazy dishes taste. BTW I know this was a few days ago but I completely recommend doing a triathlon. I am a pretty recent follower of your site but I can tell you like variety in your workouts and tri’s are great for that. You never get bored and the feeling of accomplishment is amazing. Buying a bike is an investment but you may find that you like that bike more than you ever anticipated (I did!). If your nervous about the roads you can always use an indoor bike trainer.

I LOVE this question and literally had the same thought the other night. I would 100% say So You Think You Can Dance…
I was watching/judging last night with a friend and was saying the SAME THINGS the judges were saying, particularly with the group whose dance seemed juvenile. Nigel and I used the same words…I think I was meant to be a judge on that show!

I can’t wait to try some of them in DC next year 😀 I would definitely love to judge either America’s Got Talent or Throw-down with Bobby Flay. With Throw-down, you know you’re gonna get to eat something delicious, it just matters which one is MORE delicious, so it’s a win-win situation haha!

I hate to copy, but I gotta go with Cupcake Wars! Cupcakes are my passion, so I’d love to taste all the fun creations. However, up top with that is The Voice…the chance to take Shakira’s seat and judge next to Adam Levine, Usher and Blake Shelton ALL night? Sign me up! Plus, I love the singing part too 😉

I would love to be a host on any singing show. I can’t sing- but as most people, I’m super judgy about who’s a good singer and who’s not! Especially those first few weeks. Though I would probably end up giving too many people tickets to the finals because I would feel too bad to be mean to them.
