Jewlie Fagon

June 21, 2011 by Julie 130 Comments

Remember how my week last week was dominated by peanut butter?

Well, now you may see the fruits of my labor…

shape granola

You may click here to see the peanut butter recipe slideshow I created for Shape magazine in its entirety.

This may have been the most fun freelance project I’ve ever completed. Writing + Peanut Butter + Amazing Fitness Magazine. It’s going to be a hard one to top. I hope you guys enjoy the recipes!

Lunch

Today’s lunch was enjoyed outside of the home on a hot date with… myself.

starbucks 017

I felt the urge to get out of the house to work today and headed to Starbucks to enjoy their free internet and a mocha light Frappuccino late this morning.

starbucks 013

(Side note: I desperately need to clean my laptop screen. Anyone know of any good at-home cleaning techniques?)

Oh, and guess what? According to Starbucks and Shape, I’m a whole new person today. I’m Julie Fagan Jewlie Fagon.

starbucks 018

Hey, Shape magazine can call me whatever they want. Smile

I worked through my normal lunchtime at Starbucks and was enjoying my new work environment so much that I decided to buy a sandwich and continue plugging away.

starbucks 011

I died a little inside when I paid $5.25 for that bad boy. It was pretty good, though I prefer my homemade egg salad.

I think I like all of my homemade egg and tuna salads more than the salads offered at restaurants because I make mine with Miracle Whip and not regular mayonnaise. I know Miracle Whip divides people and evokes a kind of hatred only matched by peoples’ hatred of cottage cheese, but I like it and will stand by the ol’ Whip. Regular mayonnaise gives me the heebie jeebies… kinda like catfish.

Time to get back to work. I think I may be ordering a hot tea because Starbucks is feeling a little chilly at the moment. Or I could walk outside because it’s hotter than a mofo in Orlando.

P.S. The Fashion page was updated this afternoon!

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

This reminds me of a friend that just named her child Ella “Jewell” pronounced like jewel. I desperately want to tell her she mistakenly added an extra “l” to her child’s name.

I just use a squirt of Windex and a paper towel to clean my screen. That’s how they did it at the computer store once and I was so shocked, lol but it’s how I’ve been doing it ever since.

And yea, I bought a Santa Fe sandwich or something about 2 weeks ago at Starbucks and it was like $5.69. Highway robbery!

Starbucks always sucks me in! Whenever I go there to work, I end up not leaving for hours and hours.

And what a coincidence on your name!!

I’m definitely on the nay side of Miracle Whip. There’s a weird taste that I can never get past! And same with cottage cheese 😛

The funniest misspelling of my name was Baride. I kid you not. Usually people mistake Brandi for Brenda (I get that…kinda?) but this girl wrote Baride on my coffee cup and called for Baride for a good two minutes before I realized I was Baride!

I dont like egg salad that isnt homemade because it seems like people never season it! A little salt and pepper go a long way!

I had no idea that mayo or miracle whip were different…I never use either in my day to day life and I only use mayo in a recipe when I absolutely have to!

I can’t tell you how many times Starbucks has spelled “Liz” or “Elizabeth” wrong. I get that “Elizabeth” is long and can be confusing to some, but “Lyss” is not my name! haha. Once a barista butchered “Elizabeth” so bad he wrote “sorry” under it!

Coffee shop + laptop/book is the best. I always feel so much better spending time with my nose in a book or on the computer when I go somewhere outside the house! I can’t really put my finger on why, but I fell in love with it when I was in grad school writing mile long papers and listening to live piano music in my favorite coffee shop. It is soothing in a way and I always felt like I was able to get more done!

PS Your recipes look amazing! Congrats on such an exciting freelance article!

I think my favorite crazy Starbucks name story is a something Chad Ochocinco (wide receiver for the Bengals) tweeted. He went to Starbucks and on his cup they just wrote “The Black Guy.” Hilarious. He had a pic of the cup and everything.

I’m so glad that I’m not the only one that gets skeeved out by mayo…except miracle whip and even veganaise do the same thing to me. It always makes my stomach flip, and I can’t eat most prepared salads like that because I can taste the gobs of mayo that they use! Bummer, because that sandwich looks super yummy!
