Latinos y Mas y Apple Fritters

July 7, 2012 by Julie 45 Comments

Last night was full of Latin food and lots of laughs!

latinos y mas 016

Ryan and I got together with our friends Brittney, Cara, Casey and Dustin for chips, salsa and a delicious Latin dinner at Latinos y Mas.

latinos y mas 011

I went to bed with a very full belly!

Workout

Today started out with a Saturday morning workout at the gym. Ryan and I began with 20 minutes on the elliptical before hopping off to each do our own thing.

I opted for a slightly shortened version of my 1000 rep workout. I am seriously loving that workout! I omitted some of the upper body strength moves since I did lots of arm exercises at the gym yesterday, but left nice and sweaty anyway.

Breakfast

If you’re a long-time blog reader, you might remember Ryan’s love affair with McDonald’s hotcakes. He thinks their pancakes are the best thing goin’ and after the gym, he swung by McDonald’s to pick up breakfast for himself.

I opted for an iced coffee.

Then we had to make a pit stop at Tas-T-O’s doughnuts because I wanted to grab one of their unbelievably delicious apple fritters to bring to Orlando today for my friend Laurel for her birthday celebration.

If you think I have willpower of steel and can stop by Tas-T-O’s and not get an apple fritter for myself, you are mistaken.

latinos y mas 019

The breakfast of champions.

Just to give you guys a little glimpse into the doughy, cinnamon-swirl deliciousness that makes a Tas-T-O’s apple fritter the best darn fritter in the world, I cut into it.

Drooling may commence now:

latinos y mas 022

Let’s hope the apple fritter I bought for Laurel actually makes it to Orlando!

Off to walk Sadie with Ryan before hopping in the shower and driving back to my old stomping grounds.

Enjoy your Saturday!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

Hi this is kind of random but I’m just curious. How heavy are the weights that you lift? I know strength training is essential for toning and sculpting the body and I’d just like to know if you have certain weights that you use all the time or you vary the weight depending on the exercise or day.

I love your blog and I read it all the time! Thank you so much!

I’m not a big fan of apple fritters, but I would struggle to pass up a caked donut. I’m really lucky that most of the time when I pass the nearest donut shop, I’m on my way to boot camp and can’t stop!

Apple fritters were always my fav and I haven’t had one in years. I was excited to see them at Walmart when we stopped on the way to my sisters. Alas, it was a terrible let down. (Serious, I should know I wouldn’t get a great fritter without going to a donut shop) No apples, just fried dough ;(

That fritter looks awesome. Surprisingly the only way I like cooked apples is in a fritter or when its in applesauce. I hate chunks of apples cooked otherwise. I need to try out that 1000 rep workout, since those are totally my favourite kinds of workouts! I must admit I’m a tad embarrassed to say I have no clue what types of foods are Latin. Yikes. I guess I’ve never had it before
