Love Affair

June 24, 2010 by Julie 49 Comments

When I fall in love I fall in love with a new food, I fall in love hard.

I am so excited by the tastiness of something new that I want to include it in every meal!

As evidenced by my new love for Chavrie goat cheese, which I only discovered yesterday, I simply had to include the creamy goodness in my lunch today since our love affair is in full bloom.

Goat Cheese + Broccoli + Pasta

I need to back off from the cheese a bit because I can already feel myself getting a little too attached, clingy and overly obsessed.

I think the $6 price tag on such a small chunk o’ cheese will help prevent this new relationship from becoming a full-fledged addiction.

I included the goat cheese in a pasta bowl with Carba Nada egg fettuccine noodles and steamed broccoli.

On the side I enjoyed a small banana.

All Together

Lunch was finger lickin’ good (or fork lickin’ good in this case 😉 ).

Now a question for YOU!

What is your most recent food obsession?

Though this goat cheese is definitely my most recent foodie love, my past obsessions have included Monterey Pasta Company’s ravioli, flourless peanut butter cookies, the Pioneer Woman’s sugar cookies, Carba Nada noodles, pumpkin protein pancakes, Babybel cheese, Mochi frozen yogurt, Jimmy John’s sandwiches, and Lindt truffles… to name a few. 😉

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

they actually have 12g of protein in a serving which is great for keeping you full! i usually make a serving or 1/5 servings & bulk them up w/ lots of veggies for more volume.

woops, i meant 1.5 servings! i’m not sure how much it makes cooked. i usually just weigh it using a kitchen scale before cooking to make sure i am eating a proper serving size since i can eat TONS of pasta. 🙂

Oh- and I have the same running shoes you have. They are amazing! Not a single blister. I’m tempted to buy another pair- I love them that much.

BTW: Here’s a link on how to tie your laces: http://tallguysurfing.blogspot.com/2009/10/how-to-tie-marathon-knot.html
Sounds silly but it’s called the marathon knot which I use. It makes all the difference.

I looove goat cheese too! It’s too bad you don’t have a Trader Joe’s near you … I get goat cheese for $2.99, so my obsession carries no monetary guilt! I have a long lasting obsession with hummus, lattes made with my milk frother (so hard to enjoy in this heat though!), and canteloupe!

I’m the same way about food – when I find something I like I put it on repeat day after day until I find my next obsession. Hence why pimento cheese has been mentioned on my blog waaaay too often lately, hehe! 😉 Speaking of that is my current obsession and I don’t see an end in sight!

You can make your own goat cheese! There are recipes and supplies available on this website, but I’m sure this isn’t the only resource. I haven’t tried it yet, but getting ready to soon. I used to get my goat cheese cheap at TJ’s but, alas, no longer live close to one. Hence the need to make my own since what I find now is so darned expensive. If you try it, please post about your experience!

I’m obsessed with berries right now. I try to eat seasonally and it’s the right time for those succulent little treats right now!

Definitely find nutritional yeast. You will be hooked, knowing how you like your parm cheese! I put it on everything. Yes, EVERYTHING!

Current obsession is taking a Jimmy John’s Veggie Unwich and adding a packet of albacore tuna. Had my second one in two days for lunch today.
