NBA League Pass = One Pair of Tory Burch Flats

December 20, 2011 by Julie 82 Comments

Mission “use up all fresh food before Christmas” was in full swing at dinnertime in our house.

  • Brussels sprouts
  • Sweet potatoes
  • Onion
  • Fresh Italian sausage

All used up!

roasted brussels sprouts 002-1

Dinner included sautéed Italian sausage and onion with roasted Brussels sprouts and sliced sweet potatoes.

roasted brussels sprouts 005-1

roasted brussels sprouts 006-1

A vibrant plate full of flavor!

As everything cooked, I snacked on pretzels. I cannot seem to keep my hand out of the pretzel bag today.

NBA League Pass = Tory Burch Flats

After dinner we took Sadie on an hour walk around the neighborhood. The weather started to warm up again this afternoon, so only a light sweatshirt was needed. It was a beautiful night!

During our walk, Ryan and I started making some deals.

Ryan wants to buy the NBA League Pass so he can catch all of the Chicago Bulls basketball games on television. The League Pass is a whopping $150.

I said that’s crazy expensive… and then said that if he buys the League Pass, I get to buy the super pricey Tory Burch flats I’ve wanted for more than a year now.

These beauties…

Honestly, I’m not liking either of our chances. Smile

Off to read The Violets of March!

I love my TB flats but funny enough they aren’t that comfortable! They run really small and the back digs into my heel after a day of wearing them. But who said we wore them for comfort? 😉 I say get ’em

I wanted TB flats forever, so I saved and saved and finally got a pair. They’re the most uncomfortable shoes I’ve ever owned! Yes, they look great, but they don’t stretch at all, and the heel digs in and is super painful. Don’t waste your money! Even Shasta, a HUGE TB fan admits they’re so uncomfortable…http://www.shastaanne.com/2011/09/score-cheap-ballet-flats.html.

I recently purchased that EXACT pair of Tory Burch flats along with a pair of the classic Revas. The tumbled Revas absolutely torture my feet. If you can stand it I would suggest purchasing a size larger than you normally wear so the material won’t be as tight on the back of your ankles!

    Three things:

    1) As a Tori (with the same initials too) I okay the flats.
    2) Um, the NBA pass is only $150?! I pay like 400 every year for the NFL Sunday Ticket and I’m single and live by myself! I need to get into basketball!
    3) If you Google Spoiled Pretty’s blog, she actually found a pair of Tori Burch inspired flats for a fraction of the cost because she couldn’t justify shelling out the cash either.

As someone who’s been married for what seems FOREVER (married at 19, am now 44 so 25yrs gone) we don’t “make deals” anymore as the bargaining got out of hand.

If it makes the person happy and if iot means a lot to them then there is no bargaining and no “you owe me for…” – we often find that we make changes to what we do to pay for it (ex-if I want something “superfluous” I give up my treats at Starbucks to pay for it.

Of course if it is a huge financial item (thousands or a substantial ) then it is discussed.

One trip to see the Bulls in Miami would cost $150 +++ to be able to see a whole season for that is a DEAL and the cost per game is worth it for his happiness — and maybe

That’s what works for US … Just passing on an idea or two. (Of course it’s easy that I am NOT a shoe fanatic

I’ve had League Pass Broadband for the past two year- definitely worth it if you’re a hardcore fan, but the customer service sucks. Sometimes streams don’t work or cut out during overtime and all they do is offer sterile apologies rather than a partial reimbursement. I hope LP on tv doesn’t have the same technical difficulties.

How many games on national tv do the Bulls have this season? (National and local games are blacked out on League Pass.) Do you guys have DVR to record games?

Julie, if you buy the flats definitely go up a half a size. When I did that with my pair, I didn’t have the problem of the back digging into my heel. However, I wore them around campus for a day- big mistake! I’d consider them
to be better suited for standing, sitting or walking short distances…. more like a show-off shoe rather than a functional pair 🙂 They are absolutely gorgeous though so I’m willing to sacrifice! Love & AOT
