Nothing Accomplished

March 6, 2011 by Julie 70 Comments

Remember how I signed off my last blog post? How I said I had a bunch of things on my to-do list that I was going to get done?

Well, um, that didn’t happen… yet.

Rather than get a jump start on some chores, I opted to tag along to Ryan’s soccer game. Initially I planned on staying home because it was supposed to rain, but when the weather looked promising, Sadie and I went along to Red Bug Park to cheer on our favorite soccer player.

Though I tried my best to pay attention, I inevitably got a little bored and called my friend Leah to catch up. She entertained me through most of the game and I loved hearing about her wedding planning! I can’t wait to see her in Chicago in May for her bachelorette party. Woo!

Though my soccer fan skills are admittedly a little subpar, Sadie is a fantastic fan!

soccer 005

She didn’t miss a play! She was a good girl and sat on my lap most of the time. (Yes, she is 35 pounds and sat on my lap… Vizsla owners know that not sitting on your lap is not an option.)

Sadie sprung out of my lap a few times when Ryan ran close to the sidelines or when she heard him yell out to his teammates.

We spent about two hours at the park watching Ryan’s game (they won!) before heading home.

Ryan requested a pit stop at Jeremiah’s for some gelati. I’m not one to refuse ice cream, so off we went!

I ordered a peanut butter and vanilla gelati topped with a bit of chocolate soft serve while Ryan opted for his traditional cookies ‘n’ cream combo.

Even Sadie got in on the fun with a little pup cup filled with vanilla soft serve.

Happy dog!

Once we arrived home, I made us quesadillas before whipping up another batch of cookies for the bake sale winner. I ate too much dough from the first batch and didn’t want to send the winner like three cookies, so another batch was necessary.

Once again, more dough was consumed. I am feeling sugar-sluggish right now. Bleh. I think it’s time to actually start tackling those items on my to-do list this time.

Up first: Laundry! I need gym socks!

Question of the Afternoon

You know I’m not one to focus on the negative, but let’s make each other feel better by bragging about our inefficiency and procrastination…

What’s one thing you haven’t done today that you were planning on doing?

I’ll go first: Laundry, clean guest room, paint toe nails, clean kitchen. (See, that was four things. Don’t feel so bad!)

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

Sadie is so cute with her little ice cream cup!

I didn’t do any cleaning that I wanted to do: vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, etc. But I’m caught up on laundry which I’m happy about!

Always Homework. I get a lot of cleaning done though while putting homework off. As long as I’m doing something productive, I don’t feel so guilty.

I had MAJOR plans to write a paper and I didn’t even write the title 🙂 I also had big plans to work out with my roommate, but now she’s disappeared…

But I DID clean the whole apartment, get a lot of work done for my nonprofit, go to small group, and play three games of uno.

I definitely neglected cleaning, but it was for a good cause… mid-term studying

My dog is 68 pounds and she constantly sits on me…in fact, most nights, she actually sleeps on me! Crazy girl 🙂

I definitely took a three hour nap instead of tackling the loads of laundry I (still) have waiting for me. Le sigh, such is life!

My husky Mila is about 40 lbs, and she’s allllll about sitting in my lap as well, and I love it! It’s so cute. I definitely “trained her” right when she was a puppy and I’d lay on the floor and put her on my chest. Dogs are such great snuggle buddies!

I have a huge to-do list that I didn’t accomplish anything on from this weekend. I hope to get some of the stuff done during the week. It sounds like you had a fun day though! I am so jealous of that gelati! It looks so tasty! 🙂

Cleaning out the fridge. Although my husband and I DID tackle the freezer this weekend. Took everything out, wiped it down and reorganized it all going back in. The fridge is much harder, waaay more stuff!

I didn’t rsvp to a baby shower or call a friend who I need to catch up with. That’s the good stuff I wish I could have done! Instead, I ended up doing boring other things like laundry and cleaning out my email inbox. It’s all gotta get done though, right?
