On the News in Orange Sweatpants

January 10, 2011 by Julie 33 Comments

Yup. That pretty much sums up my morning.

But let’s back up a bit, before my orange sweatpants made their television debut, shall we?

This morning began like any other Monday morning. Ryan and I headed to the gym and went our separate ways, with him heading to the weight room for a he-man workout and me into BodyPump for a she-lady workout.

The instructor at today’s BodyPump class did a throw-back release with lots of old music. For some reason all of the songs that worked my upper body (chest shoulders, triceps and biceps) seemed much harder than all of the legs tracks (squats and lunges). Odd!

I finished up my workout with 20 minutes on the elliptical before heading home to  take Sadie on a walk.

We headed out for our typical walk around Lake Eola in downtown Orlando.

Lake Eola

There are frequently camera crews in the area because Lake Eola is a central-point of downtown, so I didn’t think twice when I saw a man pointing a camera in my direction.

I was then stopped by a woman who quickly asked me if I would mind answering a question for her about the fountain in the middle of Lake Eola. Before I knew it I was being filmed in my Victoria’s Secret orange sweatpants, with my sweaty hair and totally make-up free face. Oh-so-purdy.

I said about five totally stupid things before the filming was done. Sweet!

Oddly enough I’ve been interviewed on the news in Orlando before on a morning walk with Sadie, also in my sweaty workout gear. Perhaps I should freshen up a bit before walking around Lake Eola in the future, no? I say this, but honestly I’m much to lazy to care how I look before 8 a.m.

At least it made for an exciting start to my day!

Breakfast

Breakfast was less exciting, but still very tasty.

Monday Breakfast

In the mix:

  • Chobani Greek yogurt
  • Strawberries
  • Planters trail mix

Trail Mix

Berry Nutty and Delicious

Great start to the day!

Weekend Catch Up

Playing weekend catch up? Here’s what you may have missed:

  • Finished The Hunger Games and completed a great Lazy Girl workout
  • Went to the dog park and saw The Social Network
  • Went on an eventful hike

hahaha, I was interviewed back when I was in high school…as I was leaving work…at dunkin donuts. So I was covered in powdered sugar, wearing a DD shirt and men’s pants (they only had men’s pants that would fit me, all the women’s pants in stock were too big) and hat hair. I looked HAWT.

Those strawberries look perfect! …it’s snowing in Atlanta, so I think it’ll be a while before we have good [cheap] berries up this way.

Ha! I’ve had a news crew randomly interview me when I was working at the Y during a crazy snowstorm last year. Same kind of situation…had no idea it was coming! My boss called me in at the last minute in a panic to see if I could come in since I lived so close, I agreed and rolled out of bed and out the door. Little did I know I’d be making my TV debut that day, sans makeup and sportin’ a curly-hair-fro. Ah, well, it was fun!
