PBF Gift Guide 2023: For Him

The trickiest gift guide of the holiday season is here! The gift guide I share with gift ideas for men is always the most challenging gift guide for me to create every year. Thankfully I have a little help in the form of some of the guys in my life who weigh in and help me create this list.

As always, this year’s gift guide includes gift ideas at a variety of price points and many gifts included are practical gifts because something it seems like the men in my life appreciate is a highly practical, very usable gift. I hope a couple of these gift ideas help you as you brainstorm ideas to help make the men in your life feel a little extra loved this holiday season.

• A Gift to Support His Hobby

When I brainstorm gifts for the men in my life, I start by thinking about their hobbies and the things they do in their free time that they seem to enjoy. Maybe he’s an avid reader or enjoys woodworking or gaming. Perhaps gardening or music or painting or spending time fishing or hiking is something that brings him joy. Finding a gift to support his hobby might be something that would be appreciated.

If there’s a man in your life who is all about fitness, a gift centered around exercise or his favorite athletic activity might be a hit! Ryan falls into this category big time so he was instrumental in this section of this year’s gift guide.

Headphones: Apple AirPods / Bone Conduction Headphones (so nothing is in his ears but he can still safely listen to music, podcasts or audiobooks during workouts) / Waterproof Bone Conduction Headphones (for swimmers!)

Health/Exercise-Related Gift Certificate: For a stretch session, cryotherapy, IV hydration (I gave this to Ryan for Father’s Day and he was psyched), sauna session, deep tissue massage, ski pass, etc.

Fitness Apparel: Lululemon Linerless Shorts (Ryan’s favorite) / Under Armour Compression Shorts (Ryan wears these under his shorts for all of his workouts) / Under Armour Heat Gear Leggings (the running tights Ryan wears for winter running)

Athletic Socks: BOMBAS are Ryan’s staple athletic socks (He loves the ankle socks and the performance calf socks)

• For the Techy Guy

Massager: What area does he mention bothers him most? His back? Feet? Hands? There are so many massage options out there to choose from! We love our Hypervolt but I’m awfully intrigued by the Theragun mini (or this $20 version!) for on-the-go massages. This hand massager and this foot massager also look great!

Bose QuietComfort Wireless Headphones: Comfortable, noise canceling and perfect for work, listening to music, podcasts, etc.

Portable Charger / Extra Phone Chargers: A great stocking stuffer. Some personal favorites: Built-In Portable Cable Charger (I just ordered this one a couple months ago and love how it shows how much charge remains) / Small Portable Charger (the ultimate tiny charger for on-the-go charging) / 3-Pack iPhone Chargers (because you can never have enough)

Apple Air Tags: We bought one of these for Pepper to wear in case she ever dashes out the door when our boys are coming in and out of the house but they have so many applications. Maybe he travels a lot and might like to slip one in his suitcase in case it gets lost? Perhaps he frequently misplaces his car keys? (Pair it with this keychain!) Maybe he has a laptop he wants to make sure he doesn’t lose in his workbag that might be worth tracking?

Portable Projector: This one comes with a screen and can be used indoors or outdoors. This one looks amazing if you’re looking for something super compact.

Bluetooth Speaker: We use this JBL Speaker for on-the-go listening / Marshall Speakers have a vintage look we love (Ryan has one in his work office)

• Something For His Closet

My dad and Ryan both always seem to appreciate a little something to update their closet. A few favorites: lululemon ABC Joggers (these always make my list because Ryan, my brother-in-law and dad all have and love them) / Vuori Tuvalu Tee (I gave one to Ryan for his birthday last year and it quickly became his favorite tee. Is your loved one someone who enjoys spending time in the kitchen? Is he a foodie or someone who appreciates a good cocktail at the end of the day? A food-related gift might be a hit!
