Peek-a-Boo Veggies

June 30, 2011 by Julie 70 Comments

I had grand plans to make an elaborate dinner tonight, but then this arrived in the mail:

glee 001

It happened. I fell in love with Glee. I’m an official Gleek.

The first season of Glee is available to stream from Netflix whenever you want so you don’t have to wait on DVDs to be sent to your home. When I discovered this, I watched the entire first season of the show in a week… the same week Ryan was away on his manly hiking trip.

Mr. Schuster kept me company. Winking smile

Ever since I finished watching the first season, I’ve been anxiously awaiting the DVDs from the second in the mail since you cannot stream the episodes from the second season.

When the mailman showed up at 5:15 p.m. (he comes ridiculously late), I just about jumped for joy and abandoned any elaborate dinner plans in favor of making an easy dinner and curling up on the couch with Ryan to watch an episode. (Yes, Ryan is loving Glee. And the Biebs. I love him.)

Our easy dinner included Carba Nada pasta (12 grams of protein in one serving, baby!), topped with marinara sauce, parmesan cheese, turkey sausage and hidden roasted broccoli and cauliflower.

pasta bowl 001

I say the veggies were “hidden” because the whole bottom of the pasta bowl was packed with the cruciferous veggies!

pasta bowl 007

See? Peek-a-boo veggies! I’m so sneaky.

Hoping to sneak another episode of Glee in tonight before hittin’ the hay.

Sleep well, friends!

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

I haven’t had the chance to really get into Glee yet. To be honest, I’m afraid to start because it’ll probably end up consuming what little free time I have! Your dinner looks delicious by the way!

What brand of sausages do you use? We haven’t found many turkey brands and the beef ones upset my stomach.

GIRLFRIEND! Just WAIT until you get to the alcohol episode. It’s my FAAAAAAAAAAAAVORITE. Think of me when you realize that Puck’s monologue about drunk girls is the most perfect description you’ve ever heard. Seriously, the writers on that show = brilliant!

my little sister just started watching Glee last month, too. She’s on season two as well, and a few days ago, at about 1:00 in the morning, we had an hour long conversation about Glee. We were ANALYZING it, and discussing it as art. It was ridiculous.

    Seriously. Alcohol episode. BEST EVER.

I just finished watching the first season of Glee on Netflix for Wii like 2 days ago. I, too, am now a Gleek. I had seen some episodes of season 2 when they came on TV and liked it, but now I’m mildly obsessed and I think I may get Season 2 on Netflix, as well. Unfortunately, my fiance isn’t as good of a sport as Ryan and refuses to watch Glee with me–he finds the entire premise of the show completely ridiculous. (He’s very anti-musicals or anything that involves people breaking out into song and dance.)
