Peek-a-Boo Veggies

June 30, 2011 by Julie 70 Comments

I had grand plans to make an elaborate dinner tonight, but then this arrived in the mail:

glee 001

It happened. I fell in love with Glee. I’m an official Gleek.

The first season of Glee is available to stream from Netflix whenever you want so you don’t have to wait on DVDs to be sent to your home. When I discovered this, I watched the entire first season of the show in a week… the same week Ryan was away on his manly hiking trip.

Mr. Schuster kept me company. Winking smile

Ever since I finished watching the first season, I’ve been anxiously awaiting the DVDs from the second in the mail since you cannot stream the episodes from the second season.

When the mailman showed up at 5:15 p.m. (he comes ridiculously late), I just about jumped for joy and abandoned any elaborate dinner plans in favor of making an easy dinner and curling up on the couch with Ryan to watch an episode. (Yes, Ryan is loving Glee. And the Biebs. I love him.)

Our easy dinner included Carba Nada pasta (12 grams of protein in one serving, baby!), topped with marinara sauce, parmesan cheese, turkey sausage and hidden roasted broccoli and cauliflower.

I say the veggies were “hidden” because the whole bottom of the pasta bowl was packed with the cruciferous veggies!

See? Peek-a-boo veggies! I’m so sneaky.

Hoping to sneak another episode of Glee in tonight before hittin’ the hay.

Sleep well, friends!

I’m a total Gleek! I absolutely love the show. Also, Netflix is the greatest thing EVER! My instant queue is constantly being updated. I’m currently watching The Kennedy’s mini-series.

Also, I agree with Heather…Alcohol episode is AMAZEBALLS! You’ll love it. I have one of the CD’s too…not sure which number it is but it has Poker Face and Bad Romance on it. You have to get some of the music!

I love watching Glee! Sometimes I don’t really care for the storylines. I like it for the musical numbers the most! 🙂

I love Glee and the alcohol episode was my favorite too. I also love that I finally looked up Carba Nada pasta to try it out, only to discover that the company is 1.5 hours from my home in Michigan!! Love that I heard about it on a blog from Florida =)

I did the same thing – watched all of Season 1 over the course of a weekend on instant play and then now I am on season 2 and get super excited when it comes in the mail! I love Instant Play but it is awful when you have to wait for DVDs to come in the mail! I also got my husband into it too! 🙂

How frustrating to have the mail come so late! We get ours around 11 am, and when they don’t show up untli 1 I’m always thinking where WERE you!? It helps us get more Netflix movies because I can watch them and send them back on the same day.

I just watched the first episode last weekend and finished the season yesterday… but I watch netflix online using my bff’s login so I had to buy hulu plus so I could watch season 2! It’s so addicting- I love it! That’s so cute that Ryan watches it with you… it’s a good social issue show!

Hi Julie! So I know this post is from AGES ago, but I just had to add that my boyfriend used to watch Glee with me, too! I actually forgot about it until I read about Ryan watching. Thanks for the trip down memory lane 🙂
