Quite the Accomplishment

February 3, 2011 by Julie 84 Comments

Today I completed quite the accomplishment.

I finished off an entire box of cereal by myself in 24 hours. Well, Sadie had one serving this morning because I was bribing her with food in hopes of being her favorite parent of the day.

Ryan who? Winking smile

I told you I have zero control around cereal! It’s no joke!

Despite eating a bazillion servings of cereal today, I was still hungry for dinner tonight.

Dinner

Ryan and I revisited the salmon with raspberry glaze dish that we enjoyed so much two weeks ago and it was just as good as we remembered.

tout 011

This time we subbed trout for the salmon and it was just as tasty.

tout 006

On the side we enjoyed steamed Brussels sprouts topped with garlic salt and Parmesan cheese.

tout 009

The sprouts were good, but I definitely prefer roasted Brussels sprouts. I love it when they get all crispy and really missed that aspect of the veggie this evening.

Dessert included two squares of Guylian milk chocolate.

tout 012

So good!

Wedding Fun

My friend Leah is getting married in July and is thinking about wearing blue shoes on her wedding day as her “something blue.” Since I am apparently going through wedding withdrawals now that our wedding is over and love shopping for shoes as it is, I jumped at the chance to send Leah a link to a pair of beautiful heels I found made by the same designer that made my pink satin wedding shoes.

Check ‘em out!

1241948-p-DETAILED

So pretty, huh? Well, Leah is a bit concerned about the heel height, so I figured you guys and your savvy ways might have come across some pretty blue shoes in your day. Feel free to post links to websites or blog posts where you’ve seen some blue beauties!

And with happy wedding thoughts running through my brain, I’m off to relax with my husband.

Goodnight!

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

I’ve always thought that robins-egg blue Christian Louboutins would be AWESOME with a wedding gown. Ridiculously expensive, but hey, if I’m only ever going to spend that much money on one pair of shoes, it’s gonna be the ones I wear down the aisle! I love that idea though 🙂

Here’s my 1st question – do the shoes HAVE to be designer? Is she more set on the color or the name on the shoes?

If it’s more on the color, she could always find a heel she likes better and feels more comfortable in and add the accents like found here:

I am also thinking about doing blue shoes! My colors involve blue also…

    Here are some I love:

http://www.katespade.com/product/index.jsp?productId=10776404 (I think Kate Spade heels are SUPER comfortable, so the height isn’t as noticeable)

Manolo Blahnik also makes a flat version of the “Something Blue” pump. Since my fiance is about my height, i’m really considering these!

You can read about the Manolos and some of my other shoe picks (including dye-able!) here: http://martafacts.blogspot.com/2010/09/something-old-something-new.html

I totally understand your friends predicament. I’m currently looking for wedding shoes and am concerned about standing in sky-high heels all day too.

One thing I’m thinking of doing is getting a plainer pair of heels and then getting some shoe clips on etsy (if you do a search for shoe clips: wedding shoe clips, flower shoe clips, or feather shoe clips, you’ll be amazed at what people can do!!). That way, I have a comfortable pair of shoes that is still exactly what I want. Plus, my hair piece has feathers so I can tie in that idea with shoes…Tell her to check it out!
