Rainy Day Movie

April 21, 2012 by Julie 23 Comments

When we saw that there was a 90 percent chance of rain this afternoon, Ryan and I figured it would be the perfect day to see a movie!

First we took advantage of the last remaining sun this morning and drove to some nearby hiking trails with Sadie.

I think she was excited.

We scaled our typical five mile loop down to three miles just in case the rain came early. Fortunately we didn’t get wet and were able to get Sadie some much-needed exercise before the afternoon showers.

Once we were back at home, we showered and ate a quick lunch before heading out to the movie theater to see a matinee showing of Think Like a Man.

As for the movie itself, Ryan and I both thought it was very funny and entertaining. It was a little on the long side, but I enjoyed it and laughed a lot.

Dinner

Dinner tonight came about like this: Ryan and I were in his car after the movie when he said, “I’m really in the mood for Moe’s, but I guess that’s not happening.”

“Why?” I asked.

“Because there aren’t any in Ocala,” he explained.

“There’s literally one across the street from us right now,” I said, pointing across the parking lot.

Decision made!

I was in the mood for cheese and ordered a chicken quesadilla with extra salsa.

It was served underneath a bed of chips that I dipped in salsa.

Great ‘dilla!

On our way home, Ryan suggested stopping for frozen yogurt which sounded great despite my full belly.

I got a small(ish) cup of chocolate and peanut butter swirl and taro frozen yogurt that I topped with Butterfinger pieces and kiwi.

Ryan opted for bubblegum frozen yogurt which was good, but he said it was a little much on its own without another flavor to offset it.

Now we’re back at home where we plan to spend the rest of the evening. Seeing a movie in the middle of the day left me feeling rather sleepy, so a Saturday night at home sounds perfect.

Have a great night!

Sounds delicious! I could really go for some authentic Mexican tortilla chips with salsa right now! I may just pick some up on my way home from my proctoring shift. 😉

Bubblegum froyo? Never heard of it. I don’t think I’d be trying that one 🙂 Not a huge bubblegum flavoring fan!

I’m kind of jealous; a rainy day matinee sounds wonderful.

The closest Chipotle from me it 4 hours away. I miss it! Sometimes I look for conferences & trainings in that city just so I can have Chipotle. Shhh! Don’t tell my supervisor…

Just when I was complaining about being sick of chipotle you have reminded me how lucky I truly am lol. I like you determination. You should send your story to chipotle maybe they would give you a burrito coupon or something haha

The taro froyo sounds great! I’ll definitely try that one if I get the chance – just wish they had sweet sticky rice as a topping choice. In Thailand the street vendors sell coconut ice cream with sweet sticky rice and peanuts. It sounds weird but tastes awesome.

I asked my Fiance recently while getting frozen yogurt, if anyone would really eat bubble gum flavor. I guess so 🙂 It makes me thing of that horrible flavored toothpaste from the dentist when I was a kid.

I want to see Think Like a Man! I read his book before I started dating my boyfriend and thought it was great. It isn’t the reason why we’re together but I definitely used the guidelines and a year and a half later we’re still together and talking about our future. Steve Harvey is a smart man.

That kind of thing (there is none, except for the one right in front of me) happens all the time. It makes me giggle every time it does!

Sounds fun!! My hubby and I also spent the day indoors (when I should have been studying for finals! shh!) I was in a flalshmob (fun!), then we got a drink and chatted for a couple of hours and just walked around the mall people watching. It was something unplanned, but super fun to have a day date of sorts. Have a great Sunday Julie!

My husband and I LOVE Moe’s (Welcome to Moe’s!). I was first introduced to them in Atlanta, my college town. There used to be one near us in Maryland, but it’s since closed down and there aren’t any other locations convenient to us 🙁
