Lake Relief

July 14, 2011 by Julie 44 Comments

Tonight was a fun night!

After a quick dinner on the grill…

oatmeal whole wheat pancakes 003

…and a medium McDonald’s orange milkshake to share (delicious!)…

Ryan and I leashed Sadie up for an evening of fetch at the dog park!

wheat germ cookies 029

It’s hotter than Hades in Orlando right now, so we thought Sadie would enjoy running around at the park since the nearby lake offers some relief from the heat.

I love it when Sadie makes a beeline for the lake and then plops down right beside her ball. She’s such a little ham.

Ryan and I even stepped out of our flip flops and got our feet wet in the lake. Feeling the sand between my toes really made me want to go on a nice beach vacation.

I think Sadie was more than happy with this evening’s activity.

And now it’s time to update my iPod with some new workout tunes. Thanks for your song recommendations on the PBF Facebook page today! I’m using a bunch and will be sure to share my new playlist in the morning!

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

And how hilarious that the caption of Sadie’s pic says “Wilson?” — I had just put Castaway on my Netflix list!

I have a random wedding question for you and other readers. I just got engaged a week and a half ago and we have started the planning process already! I have had my bridesmaids chosen forever, a group of 5 girls, including my sister, who I’m really close with.

My fiance has an older sister, but he’s not close with her at all. Since we’ve been engaged, she hasn’t called him or anything, just texted him once to say congrats. I don’t mean this in a harsh way, they just don’t have that kind of relationship.

We both were on the same page that we would have his sister participate in the ceremony in some way (maybe do a reading or something) but not be a bridesmaid. As I mentioned, my fiance is not really close with her and I’ve only met her 3 times (she also lives across the country). Plus, I don’t think she would care either way.

Well, now his mom has been bugging him that she thinks his sister should be a bridesmaid. and he’s brought it up to me. I feel like it’s putting pressure on me to have her in the bridal party and that I will be the bad guy if I don’t want her in it. It would be a different story if my fiance wanted her, but it’s not him, it’s his mom. And I feel like if he was close to her then I would be too, but I barely know her. She is also over 10 years older than me. Am I being bitchy? Or am I right to feel that I shouldn’t have to include her in the bridal party?

Oh CONGRATULATIONS!! No, it’s your wedding! If you are not close and don’t want her as one, i don’t think its an obligation. You should feel great on your day with your close friends!

No I don’t mind at all! I really want to know what other people think is appropriate. If I’m not being crazy, then I can be like “see honey, all these people on the internet agree with me!” 😉

I guess the song is right… Milkshakes bring all the boys to the yard.

Only it’s Orange Milkshakes… and boys AND girls (puppy girls)… and instead of yard, it’s lake.

Other than that, they nailed it.
