Sangria and Pizza Kind of Night

October 9, 2011 by Julie 43 Comments

Good morning!

I hope you are all having a great weekend! Mine has been filled with lots of quality time with my best friend, Laurel.

I arrived at her apartment in Orlando yesterday around lunchtime and we immediately headed out to Subway to grab some sandwiches.

I opted for a black forest ham sub, topped with nearly all the veggies!

The weather was even more rainy in Orlando than it was in Ocala, so we decided it was the perfect kind of day to head home, put on our pajamas and spend the rest of Saturday in her apartment, talking away and catching up.

Laurel was my roommate in college sophomore through senior year and whenever we get together I feel so nostalgic for that time in my life. We had the best time living together!

When it was time for dinner, we busted out some sangria to enjoy while we made a fancy schmancy pizza following a recipe that Laurel clipped out of Cooking Light magazine.

orlando 049

We both were lovin’ the sangria and I think we would’ve liked any pizza that came out of her oven because both of our appetites were high since Laurel also completed a long run Saturday. (She’s also training for a half marathon.)

We inhaled the pizza while Laurel’s cat Natasha turned her back on us for not sharing.

Laurel said she was doing the “stanky leg.” Such a little ham!

Off to get dressed and soak up the last of the few minutes I have with Laurel!

I’m only over a pancake filled breakfast and now I’m craving pizza. LOVE fruits cheese and nuts on pizza, best combos! My fav has to be peach, balsamic reduction and goats cheese but the apple sounds yum.

I’m glad you’re having fun with your friend, looks like the perfect lazy afternoon to catch up! I also get just about every veggie imaginable when I’m at subway. I start to feel annoying sometimes: “and cucumbers, and olives, and tomatoes, and spinach, oh and onion, and peppers…” etc.
