She’s Back!

July 27, 2011 by Julie 100 Comments

Guess who is back in my arms!?

snack plate 005

Sadie girl!!!

Around 11 a.m. I left Ocala and drove the two hours to my parents’ house in St. Pete to see the pup!

She gave me quite the welcome. Whimpering, running around in circles and a sprinkle of pee were involved. Sadie only pees from excitement on very rare occasions or when she sees a small handful of people that she really loves, so I took her little squirt as a compliment. Or, you know, I missed her too much to care about a little doggie pee.

I’m now blogging with a 35 pound dog sprawled across my lap and everything feels right again. Smile

Lunch

Lunch today was really random. Whenever I come to my parents’ house I feel like I’m on sensory overload because of all the delicious food options, so I decided to go with my cravings and fix myself a snack plate of goodies.

snack plate 002

My plate included pretzel crisps with almond butter for dipping, cilantro lime shrimp and a cup of fresh blueberries.

snack plate 007

And then I ate about a million pecans that I picked out of a big jar of mixed nuts. Nut overload! (TWSS.)

I hope no one else in my family shares my affinity for pecans because they may have a little bit of a problem finding any in that jar if they go digging.

As I was sitting down to lunch at the kitchen counter, I saw a cute mini card that I assumed my mom gave to my sister or dad.

snack plate 008

So sweet, right?

Well, when I flipped it over to read the message on the back, this was staring back at me:

What is that!?!?

RANDOM CARD!!! I usually pick out the cashews. It helps that my stepdad is allergic to them, so he never notices . . .

Hahaha – my mom got those cards! She saw them at Michael’s Craft Store and they were marked as being little cards to put in children’s lunch boxes. My mom teaches first grade so she thought it might be a good thing to give to her students. When we got them out of the pack, they were SO weird. One of them said something like, “I can’t wait to be with you later.” I thought that sounded more like something a wife might put in her husband’s lunch! 😉

So cute! I went to the website that is on the bottom of the card… http://www.sayplease.com & some of those cards are really adorable.

I do love handwritten notes though. I always leave one for my fiance if I know he is going to either wake up before me (if im sleeping in on the weekend but he has to work) or if I leave before he’s home.. I think it’s those little things that you do for eachother that mean the most!

Reuniting with pets after time spent apart is the BEST. It melts my heart every day when I come home from work, to a chorus of barks, tail wags and kisses! Sometimes the cat even gets in on the welcome wagon party.

I act like a starving woman every time I go to my parent’s house because they have so much good food that I never buy for myself, I love it. I often wonder at what point in my life I’ll start stocking my cabinets like they do!

I also just want to say that your positivity throughout your moving situation and new city has amazed me. I know I’d be really thrown off, and probably pretty cranky, if I had to move into a hotel and didn’t have my normal “stuff,” food, and even beloved pet with me, but you’ve been so upbeat on the blog about your temporary situation. Keep your smile on and I know that good, exciting things will come to you!

I laughed at the pecan/TWSS part of your post today — only because my mother in law has pointed out to me that pecans look like vaginas. So I cannot eat a pecan without laughing a little bit because that little fact comes to mind. Yes I’m 11.
