During the summer months when it’s hot outside, it’s easier for me to remember to stay hydrated because warmer weather makes me thirstier and serves almost as a daily reminder to sip on a cold, refreshing beverage throughout the day. As the temperatures begin to drop, my desire to drink a lot of cold water decreases significantly, but there are a few key things we can all do to help remind ourselves to drink and stay hydrated all year long.
Below you will find a few tips that can be easily implemented to help keep yourself hydrated every day! (And stay tuned for a hydration-themed giveaway at the end of this post, thanks to Ocean Spray® PACt® cranberry extract water!)
- Opt For A Larger Water Bottle
If I have a large water bottle sitting in front of me as I work on the computer, I will often look down to find the water bottle completely drained without realizing I’ve been guzzling it down. Mindless drinking for the win! By opting for a larger water bottle – one that holds 20+ ounces – I find myself drinking more since a larger amount of water is simply sitting in front of me, making staying hydrated a bit easier!
- Refill Your Water Bottle Every Time You Go To The Bathroom
This is a tip I started to follow when I was working at my previous desk job, but now that I work from home, it’s one I still try to remind myself to follow since it’s a great way to remind yourself to always have a full water bottle with you! If you fill up your water bottle every time you use the bathroom, you’ll always have a full water bottle on hand, making staying hydrated that much easier!
- Vary Your Beverage To Prevent Boredom
If you’re anything like me, sipping on water all day long can start to get a bit boring. When I was pregnant, and now that I’m nursing, I cannot seem to drink enough but drinking tons and tons of plain water can feel a little dull. When I feel water boredom setting in, I opt for sparkling water or extract water to spice things up a bit! It’s an easy and delicious way to sneak in extra fluids.
I was recently sent a few bottles of Ocean Spray® PACt® cranberry extract water to try and it’s a great option to turn to when you want to hydrate your body with something that tastes great, too! The PACt® cranberry extract water contains PACs (proanthocyanidins), unique, powerful elements found deep inside cranberries that help cleanse and purify your body. The cranberry extract water is made with clean ingredients (the bright red color comes from cranberries alone and it’s sweetened naturally) and the water has only 10 calories per 16 ounce bottle.
My favorite flavor is the Cranberry Mango-Passionfruit and I love all of them mixed with a little bit of sparkling water for a refreshing mocktail any time of the day!
- Use A Straw
Is it just me, or is it a billion times easier to drink water when you do it from a straw (especially if you’re multi-tasking while pushing a baby in a stroller and walking your dog)? It makes sipping on water more fun and I try to drink most of my water from a water bottle or tumbler that has a straw. For some reason I just seem to drink more when I do it from a straw!
- Add Your Own Fun Flavors
According to Ocean Spray’s hydration survey (which you may find and take here), more than 60 percent of Americans are drinking less than eight glasses of water a day and more than half of all Americans don’t feel the need to hydrate when temperatures cool down. Make your water or water-based beverage more fun by adding your own flavors! Throw some fresh orange, grapefruit or cucumber slices into a cold cup of water. Crush mint leaves and stir them into sparkling water. Add frozen grapes to cranberry extract water for a tasty alternative to ice cubes!
Anything to make staying hydrated a little more fun!

I always carry my re-fillable water bottle with me, everywhere I go 🙂
Thanks for hosting this giveaway! Adding MiO Energy is how I stay hydrated- it’s also a great alternative to coffee!
Hope you’re enjoying your travels with the fam 🙂
When the weather gets chilly I switch over to hot water, usually with lemon or cinnamon tea. Hot water feels so good!
My 32 ounce Nalgene bottle! I always try to finish the bottle by lunch time.
I use a bottle with a built-in filter- that way I can get that filtered water taste wherever I go, and I can’t make excuses about the water not tasting good as bottled!
As an elementary music teacher, I always carry a water cup/bottle with a straw with me wherever I go! More recently, I started filling gallons of water at home and taking them to work with me- it’s so much easier to drink the water I need when I have access to water that tastes good!
I definitely make sure to start my morning with a glass of water and/or a mug of tea, and I’ll try to end my day with the same. Then, I make sure to keep a tumbler/bottle of water in front of me. I can’t stand seeing it empty, but I also can’t stand seeing it not empty… so I’m just constantly drinking and refilling it! (It helps me get in some steps every day, too!)
Filling up every time I get up is key!! And I eat so much less!
I keep a pitcher (with a spigot) of water on the counter and add lemon slices and basil. It’s refreshing and very convenient!
It’s something small, but I make sure water is the first thing I have each morning – before breakfast or even coffee. Gets the day off on a good foot!
O I need this Infuser Pitcher in my life! I am in the second trimester and I am really struggling with drinking as much water as I should. I am normally great at getting a lot of water in, but these days I just do not like it. Adding fruit in the infuser would be a great idea!
I know this probably sounds weird but I have separate specific water bottles for different areas of my life. I have one that I take to work, one for by my bed at night, one for road trips, etc. It’s weird but it works for me!
I drink a glass of milk in the middle of the night when i wake up to use the bathroom
I am always refilling my water bottle at work!
I use an infusion pitcher and make lemon, orange, lime water! I try to drink all 3 quarts each day along with my other drinks to stay hydrated.
Sparkling water is my favorite and I could drink it everyday!
i keep a 20oz water bottle at my desk and have alerts on my fitbit that go off every 2 hours to remind me if i haven’t finished it, chug and refill
I try to drink water first in the morning before I drink anything else.
I have the water logged app to help motivate me all year long. The notifications help remind me to keep drinking!
I keep my FSU water bottle by me at all times!
I find if I finish a bottle on my way to work it sets the pace for the rest of the day. I also love sparkling water with my own additions.

I keep a Bubba Keg on my desk at work and drink out of it all day (of course I can always use another one)! 🙂 I also throw a bottle of water in my purse whenever I leave the house and drink it while I am out running errands.
I carry around my Hydroflask all day long (filled with ice water) and usually switch to a LaCroix at some point!
I fill multiple water bottles to take to work with me so I have water all day long.
Since I HATE (yes, it’s a strong word, but true) drinking plain water, I have started drinking sparkling water. I have not tried diffusing fruits yet, but that sounds good too!
I always make sure to have a water bottle with me but I make sure it’s a big one and I tell myself I have to finish it by the end of the day, I also have been wanting to get one of those infuser water bottles. An easy way to spruce up water on the go!
I drink a big glass of water in the morning while I get ready to work out.
At work, my friend and co-worker remind each other to drink water throughout the day! We even have post it notes on our computers that say, “Drink more water!”

I use a water bottle with the ounce measurement right on the side, that way I know how much I have had, and how much more I have to go!
I always have my life factory water bottle with me! It’s funny but when buying out a new purse, one of the main criteria is that it has to be big enough to fit a water bottle!
As a teacher, it’s difficult to stay hydrated because regular bathroom breaks are NOT an option! I do, however, use the large water bottle strategy when I can!
I make sure to have a water both upstairs and downstairs. I’m a stay-at-home mom with a 14-month-old so not having to worry about where my water bottle is throughout the day is pretty helpful! Both bottles are 20 ounces which is a decent size but it’d be nice to have a bubba for sure.
I always make sure to take a bottle of water with me when I leave the house. Also, whenever my husband buys a coffee, I ask for a cup of ice water. If I’m at home working, there’s a glass of water next to my computer 100% of the time. If fact, wherever I am or whatever I’m doing, there’s always a glass of water next to me.
I drink lots of water throughout the day and I also eat fruit, like watermelon and berries to stay hydrated.

I carry my water bottle with me at all times. It’s gotten to the point where I feel a lot of anxiety anytime I don’t have it. I love my water!!
I buy myself a new water bottle about 2x/year. Every time I switch bottles I get re committed to drinking water again and have no problem keeping my hydration up. I also am a huge favor of the seltzer water spritzer in the evening with dinner- the bubbles work magic!
I always carry my water cup around wherever I go!! That way I have no excuse!! Great tips!! Thanks.

I have a huge water bottle and I try to drink 3 per day 🙂 it’s also smart to drink half your weight (lbs) in oz of water daily. For example, if you’re 150 lbs you should drink at least 75 oz of water each day! Xo!
I drink a big full glass of water every day before breakfast to start the day off on a good note! I also make sure to order a glass of water whenever I go out to eat, and I bring a water bottle everywhere…work, running errands, out with friends…
Club soda with lemon and a straw are my two must haves.
