Swaying Building

March 30, 2011 by Julie 123 Comments

The weather in Central Florida this afternoon was c-r-a-z-y!

Watch out! Fallen tree!

At around 4:50 p.m., I was sitting at my desk at work, finishing some last minute tasks, when all of the sudden I started to feel dizzy. I honestly thought I was feeling woozy until someone came running out of their office saying, “Did you guys feel that!?”

Instantly my office was a-buzz about the undeniable swaying of our building! It was insane.

I work on an upper floor of a tall building in downtown Orlando and everyone could feel the building moving from the crazy winds. It was nuts and I high-tailed it outta there as soon as I could!

On my way home, I passed street lights that were totally out, fallen signs, tree limbs on the ground and debris.

When I arrived home, the back door of our neighbor’s house had actually blown off! You’d think we were in the middle of a hurricane or something.

The craziest thing is that within an hour, the rain subsided and it was perfectly clear outside. Florida weather is totally random.

Dress Up with the Pup

Once Ryan arrived home from work, we took Sadie on a one-mile walk before heading to the pet store. We initially planned for Sadie to get all buffed up at the “salon,” but the place where we normally take her for her nail trimmings was closed due to a power outage.

Instead we headed to a different pet store, but their grooming salon closed an hour before we got there.

We still entertained ourselves by browsing around and looking for an Easter outfit for Sadie since she loves to play dress up.

We found this Snuggle Bunny outfit which we loved but it was a little tight on Sadie’s chest.

sadie

I think she will be wearing a simple festive bandana on Easter this year!

Dinner

Once we made it home, it was time for dinner.

A box of Monterey Pasta Company butternut squash ravioli made our evening meal come together in a flash.

After boiling the ravioli, we topped it with a bit of butter before placing the pasta poofs on top of a bed of roasted cauliflower.

I think Sadie wanted in.

Time to scour the internet for some nude pumps. Thanks for your recommendations on the Fashion page! I’m starting with your ideas even though I told Ryan that I already found the perfect pair of $665 Jimmy Choo’s.

They’re only slightly out of budget. Winking smile

Just out of curiosity (in case you feel like sharing), what is the most expensive clothing/ accessory item you own (not counting jewelry/watches)? (This question does include purses, shoes, dresses, jeans, etc.)

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

I was at Kohl’s this weekend and spied some nude pumps by Elle, they can’t be more than 60 bucks. And they were cute!

Besides my wedding dress ($550), I think my most expensive piece of clothing is a $120 pair of jeans that just happened to look really good on.

I don’t get the whole name brand thing, it’s not really me. I mean, I love fashion, but paying for it…not so much. I’d rather take a trip somewhere or go to an awesome concert.

I recently bought these nude pumps- they are inexpensive and SO cute! They are the perfect shade of nude. They are actually pretty comfortable too.

Holy scary weather! Glad you got out of that swaying building – yikes!

The most expensive item I own is my engagement/wedding ring set, followed by my wedding dress, both of which are followed closely by a Louis Vuitton bag from my hubby. Luckily I did not personally fork over the dough for any of those items! haha. I cringe to think of the total cost of those three things alone.

I’m a complete designer accessory fiend. I used to work in Jimmy Choo so I have a ridiculous amount of JC shoes which I love and adore and would actually pay full price for now that I’m no longer an employee 🙂

But my most expensive item is the love of my life, my Chanel 2.55. I’m taking that thing to my grave, future daughters and grandaughters be damned!

hmmmmmmmmmmmm I spent $170 on a top and $ 150 on a pair of pants before my hubby and I get married 7 years ago. I don’t have the pants any more but I still have the top!! It still looks amazing and still in style. But I would never spend that much money on a top or pants again. I would rather have a bunch of nice things that I get on sale instead of a few nice things LOL.

The weather tonight in Tampa is crazy too. My poor Rhodesian Ridgeback is not a happy camper.

Hmm I think the most expensive item I’ve ever bought was a Tory Burch bag. It was $600! Definitely hurt the bank! A close second are my $425 rain boots! Quite pricey for rain boots, but they’re Jimmy Choo for Hunter.

I’m a huge bargain hunter when it comes to clothes, but I love to save and then splurge on shoes and accessories. My Chanel sunglasses were probably the most expensive at about $400, but I’ve had them for about 3 years now and I’d say I’ve definitely gotten my money’s worth! I wear them all the time, and don’t see that changing anytime soon. I’d love to get another pair one day. I also really want a pair of Louboutins.

Other than my wedding dress (which I’d say doesn’t really count because it’s not re-wearable), my wedding shoes.

You can see them here: http://bit.ly/bmrandall

Most expensive: I own two pairs of Coach boots that I freaking adore.. both were around $400 each. Yowza! Also all the gowns I have to buy for recitals (I’m a masters voice student) cost upwards of $450.

Also – got some really cute nude pumps (almost typed nude pimps… that’s different) at Nine West for about $79 just a month ago… they have a few versions but mine have a stacked wood heel and are matte leather nude. Nice 3.5″ heel.

The most expensive thing I’ve bought myself was a $400 iPod Video (this was when they first came out back in 2005 or so, thus why it was $400!). I paid for it with a $400 cheque that everyone in Alberta received from the government that year – iPods really don’t have that long of a life expectancy so I kind of wish I didn’t use the money on it!
I also have a Coach purse and matching wallet, but I got them at an outlet store in Las Vegas for less than $200 total. I’m a bargain hunter now that I’ve grown up and I’m living on my own! 😉

Without a doubt my most expensive item is a black leather Coach tote I got from eBay last year for $200. But if you factor in cost per wear, it’s basically paid for itself. I take it to work every single day. Although I do eye a lot of things full price at Anthropologie, I still haven’t bought anything from there that wasn’t on sale. I’m pretty cheap…
