Swaying Building

March 30, 2011 by Julie 123 Comments

The weather in Central Florida this afternoon was c-r-a-z-y!

Watch out! Fallen tree!

At around 4:50 p.m., I was sitting at my desk at work, finishing some last minute tasks, when all of the sudden I started to feel dizzy. I honestly thought I was feeling woozy until someone came running out of their office saying, “Did you guys feel that!?”

Instantly my office was a-buzz about the undeniable swaying of our building! It was insane.

I work on an upper floor of a tall building in downtown Orlando and everyone could feel the building moving from the crazy winds. It was nuts and I high-tailed it outta there as soon as I could!

On my way home, I passed street lights that were totally out, fallen signs, tree limbs on the ground and debris.

When I arrived home, the back door of our neighbor’s house had actually blown off! You’d think we were in the middle of a hurricane or something.

The craziest thing is that within an hour, the rain subsided and it was perfectly clear outside. Florida weather is totally random.

Dress Up with the Pup

Once Ryan arrived home from work, we took Sadie on a one-mile walk before heading to the pet store. We initially planned for Sadie to get all buffed up at the “salon,” but the place where we normally take her for her nail trimmings was closed due to a power outage.

Instead we headed to a different pet store, but their grooming salon closed an hour before we got there.

We still entertained ourselves by browsing around and looking for an Easter outfit for Sadie since she loves to play dress up.

We found this Snuggle Bunny outfit which we loved but it was a little tight on Sadie’s chest.

sadie

I think she will be wearing a simple festive bandana on Easter this year!

Dinner

Once we made it home, it was time for dinner.

A box of Monterey Pasta Company butternut squash ravioli made our evening meal come together in a flash.

After boiling the ravioli, we topped it with a bit of butter before placing the pasta poofs on top of a bed of roasted cauliflower.

I think Sadie wanted in.

Time to scour the internet for some nude pumps. Thanks for your recommendations on the Fashion page! I’m starting with your ideas even though I told Ryan that I already found the perfect pair of $665 Jimmy Choo’s.

They’re only slightly out of budget. Winking smile

Just out of curiosity (in case you feel like sharing), what is the most expensive clothing/ accessory item you own (not counting jewelry/watches)? (This question does include purses, shoes, dresses, jeans, etc.)

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

I think the building is supposed to do that, and I think it’s to keep windows from popping out or something? We’re on the 25th floor of my building, and ours sways every time we have any type of windstorm. It’s a wacky feeling, for sure!

Most expensive is probably my wedding dress followed by the bridesmaid dresses for my sister and my friend’s weddings and my winter coat. At least one of the bridesmaid dresses was worn more than once!

Probably jeans and a purse. I love designer jeans and justify the cost since you only really need 1 or 2 pairs…and they last forever!

$700 pair of Chanel flats. They were worth it though I wear them nearly everyday and love them to death!

Well I bought my fiancee a $530 custom-made briefcase in England… but that doesn’t count : ) For myself personally I would probably say my Cole Haan flats, they were $250. Soon to be ousted though, I’m dying to get Louboutins for my wedding.

A few years ago I broke down and spent $250 on a pair of Rock & Republic jeans. Don’t ever go shopping with girlfriends after having a few cocktails, talk about loss of willpower! To be honest I felt a little sick about it the next day, but they are amazingly comfortable and I still get compliments every time I wear them so I figure it was a good purchase 🙂

My Louis Vuitton purses/wallet are definitely the most expensive items in my closet, the most expensive being $1500, the rest clocking in at $300, $600, and $700. I waited for almost ten years to buy my first LV, and I’ve never looked back. The good thing about designer items is that they hold their value, which is how I funded/justified some of my LV purchases! I have sold lots of jeans, purses, shoes, jewelry, etc. over the years and can make some good money.

I just wanted to let you know that I had this pasta for the first time today and I absolutely LOVED it. I wouldn’t have bought it, but when I saw it on your blog I decided to try it!
