The Quest for Nude Pumps

May 1, 2011 by Julie 70 Comments

As those of you who regularly check my Fashion page may recall, back in March I posted about my quest to find a pair of nude pumps that were both classy and relatively comfortable.

I’ve scoured the internet a bazillion times and searched nearly every store I’ve shopped in since then but came up empty handed time and time again.

Until today!

I found these beautiful little babies at Off 5th, the Saks Fifth Avenue Outlet located at the Prime Outlets by Millenia Mall in Orlando. I was at the store looking for a black jersey dress for our trip to Europe when I saw them.

I rushed over and scanned the display for my size to no avail. I searched and searched the other racks until I saw them. And then I saw two other women trying on the same pair of pumps. We were all quite the smitten kittens.

When I learned that they were 30 percent off, I was sold. I scooped them up and brought them home along with some other finds from the store and the J.Crew Outlet.

I found a lot of great layering pieces and simple cotton dresses for Europe. I am determined to re-wear a lot of my clothing items in original ways and hope the neutral colors I found will allow me to mix and match.

While at the outlets, I also got my main birthday present from my family sized just in time for our vacation.

I love it! Open-mouthed smileThey did a great job with this one!

As I headed home from my shopping trip, I got word from Ryan that he was also on his way back to our apartment from his soccer game.

Lunch

After he arrived home, we decided smoothies for lunch sounded great because he was hot and sweaty from his game and I have a smoothie addiction.

In the mix (for one smoothie):

  • 1 1/4 c. milk
  • 1 scoop chocolate banana crunch Muscle Milk protein powder
  • 2 tbsp. peanut butter
  • 1 frozen banana

I’m not even lying when I say this smoothie tasted like a milkshake. It was freakin’ fantastic! The combination of the banana, chocolate and peanut butter flavors created a party in my mouth.

I also had a peanut butter roll up about an hour later that include a whole wheat tortilla smeared with peanut butter and topped frozen banana slices and chia seeds. Apparently the peanut butter and banana combination is rockin’ my socks today!

After lunch, Ryan and I headed to Target to purchase some essentials, including a new wireless router because ours crapped the bed last night and plugging your computer into a cord is a pain in the booty.

Now I’m flyin’ high on my Wi-Fi! Smile Time to get to work preppin’ the blog for some fun posts that will be coming your way while I’m exploring Europe.

The rest of my evening will be spent right here…

I too am looking for nice nude heels. I found some when I was in NC but couldn’t get myself to buy them because they were SOOO tall, the heel that is. Otherwise they would’ve been perfect (were steve madden). My hunt goes on!!!

Have fun in Europe! I loved it when I went. Is Ryan going too?

Oh and cute pumps! I’ve been looking for the same exact look but in black–it hasn’t been as easy as you’d think!

Hi Julie!! I’ve been following you for a loong time but todays post totally hit my fashionista nerve because I thought it was deja vu when I read this post. I literally have spend the past 48 hours scouring every shoe site on earth looking for the perfect nude pumps that are comfy and classy. Too bad most of them are over 4″ tall and waaaayyyy over my budget. 🙁 Lucky you found yours though and I’m happy for ya!! THey’re adorable and looks just like what I’m looking for. Sadly, I’m nowhere near an outlet mall. Darnit Boston!!

Love your watch, too! I have a very similar gold MK one, which is technically a “mens” verison. I don’t even care, I love it and wear it all the time 🙂

    Hi Julie,

I like a smoothie just as much as the next gal but it seems you consume an awful lot of protein powder and smoothies! Also I would have liked a look at this peanut butter roll up instead of the smoothie. Just some food for thought!
