The Quest for Nude Pumps

May 1, 2011 by Julie 70 Comments

As those of you who regularly check my Fashion page may recall, back in March I posted about my quest to find a pair of nude pumps that were both classy and relatively comfortable.

I’ve scoured the internet a bazillion times and searched nearly every store I’ve shopped in since then but came up empty handed time and time again.

Until today!

I found these beautiful little babies at Off 5th, the Saks Fifth Avenue Outlet located at the Prime Outlets by Millenia Mall in Orlando. I was at the store looking for a black jersey dress for our trip to Europe when I saw them.

I rushed over and scanned the display for my size to no avail. I searched and searched the other racks until I saw them. And then I saw two other women trying on the same pair of pumps. We were all quite the smitten kittens.

When I learned that they were 30 percent off, I was sold. I scooped them up and brought them home along with some other finds from the store and the J.Crew Outlet.

I found a lot of great layering pieces and simple cotton dresses for Europe. I am determined to re-wear a lot of my clothing items in original ways and hope the neutral colors I found will allow me to mix and match.

While at the outlets, I also got my main birthday present from my family sized just in time for our vacation.

I love it! Open-mouthed smileThey did a great job with this one!

As I headed home from my shopping trip, I got word from Ryan that he was also on his way back to our apartment from his soccer game.

Lunch

After he arrived home, we decided smoothies for lunch sounded great because he was hot and sweaty from his game and I have a smoothie addiction.

In the mix (for one smoothie):

  • 1 1/4 c. milk
  • 1 scoop chocolate banana crunch Muscle Milk protein powder
  • 2 tbsp. peanut butter
  • 1 frozen banana

I’m not even lying when I say this smoothie tasted like a milkshake. It was freakin’ fantastic! The combination of the banana, chocolate and peanut butter flavors created a party in my mouth.

I also had a peanut butter roll up about an hour later that include a whole wheat tortilla smeared with peanut butter and topped frozen banana slices and chia seeds. Apparently the peanut butter and banana combination is rockin’ my socks today!

After lunch, Ryan and I headed to Target to purchase some essentials, including a new wireless router because ours crapped the bed last night and plugging your computer into a cord is a pain in the booty.

Now I’m flyin’ high on my Wi-Fi! Smile Time to get to work preppin’ the blog for some fun posts that will be coming your way while I’m exploring Europe.

The rest of my evening will be spent right here…

I love my nude pumps. I too had a frustrating scavenger hunt to find just the right thing, but success is so sweet. 🙂

SO glad you found your pumps 😀 I was on the hunt for them for you 🙂 I know what a pain they can be to find..it took me a good few months to find mine, but I love ’em! They go with so much!
& also, that’s so funny that you got that watch…that was one of the watches that I picked out for Craig to get me as a wedding present. (He needed some suggestions..& one of them was a link to this watch …and a silver one very similar! I hope to see some Michael Kor’s in my future- haha!)

Julie, I smiled when I saw this post today because I think we have really similar taste! I have a serious watch addiction (I love my watches like jewelry!) – 6 to date – but I’m feeling the craving for another one. Trying to decide between rose gold, white ceramic or the tortoise Michael Kors…. yours is beautiful. Wear it in good health!!!

I’ve been obsessing over gold watches lately. I finally decided to order one after seeing you wear it so often. 🙂 I will blame it on you when my hubby see the bill. LOL
