Things You Could Talk About for Hours

May 26, 2011 by Julie 123 Comments

Today’s lunch was yesterday’s lunch! Around noon yesterday I just wasn’t in the mood to eat the salad I packed. I went home for a smoothie for lunch instead and left my lunch in the office refrigerator overnight.

Today I was in the mood for a salad and I dug into my neglected bowl of veggies with excitement this afternoon.

Today’s salad included:

  • Butter lettuce
  • Honey ham
  • Grape tomatoes
  • Carrots
  • Cucumber
  • Bell peppers
  • Honey mustard dressing

It was a good one!

Things You Could Talk About for Hours

This morning at work I was talking with one of my coworkers about our dogs. We were both filling our water bottles and ended up standing by the water cooler for a while laughing at random stories about the crazy animals in our lives.

When I sat back down at my desk, I began thinking about all of the things in the world that I feel like I could talk with someone about for hours:

  • Dogs (vizslas in particular)
  • Blogging
  • Cooking and baking
  • Weddings
  • Celebrities (My heart skips a beat when I see a new issue of US Weekly on the magazine rack at my gym)
  • Fitness
  • Travel
  • Old episodes of Friends
  • North Carolina and my desire to live there
  • Food (specifically dessert)
  • Body image and self worth
  • The future and personal goals

Then I thought about the topics that bore me to tears within two minutes:

  • Finance
  • Web coding
  • Insurance

Questions of the Day

  • What is one thing you could talk about for hours?
  • What is one topic that bores you to tears within two minutes?

P.S. The Fashion page was updated today!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

Something I could talk about for hours: the Titanic. I am a huge nerd and I embrace it. Also food, health, blogging and high school. Yes, super nerd.

Things I hate to talk about: finance, medicine and sports. Which basically means I can’t talk about the things my boyfriend’s, dad’s and brothers’ lives revolve around.

as a woman who is married to a sports fanatic, i always ask questions about their personal lives or the dynamics of the teams. it makes it SO much more interesting when ryan is watching a game and i’m like, “oh, so that guy cheated on his wife with THAT guy’s girlfriend?” it’s like reality tv!

And can totally keep up a convo and enjoy myself.

I wanna die of boredom when people bring up

I love talking about running (and exercise in general), cooking, travel, Arrested Development, and San Francisco for hours and hours. Even though I don’t know much about or work in the sciences, I love when my fiance tells me about his work (he does science research), and I can’t wait to learn about the human body when he starts med school in the fall! I do not enjoy talking about financial stuff (stocks, bonds, financial mangement, etc.) and technology.

There’s so many things I could talk about forever; cats (mine, my fosters and yours too) and animal rescue, food, in general and veganism in particular, politics, psychology (its my major and I love discussing how it applies to everyday life), TR (my other major), home decorating, travelling (planning my next trip), the future (specifically post-grad plans), my godkids and on and on. Unfortunately it’s kind of difficult to find convo partners for some of those topics.

I have had an overwhelming urge to move to NC too… idk what it is but I feel like its just the best of both worlds. Don’t get me wrong, I love Philly and I couldn’t really leave my family like that but if when I graduate next year I’m offered an opportunity to work in NC for like a 2year period of time, it’d be pretty hard to decline… My boyfriend disagrees. He refuses to consider moving outside of this area and freaks out (read: gets really sad) at me when I mention that getting a job after school may require at least a temporary move…

I could probably talk about traveling forever. Places to go, places I’ve been, people I’ve met along the way… So much fun.
HATE talking about finances. I don’t mean “What’s your income” or anything like that… We’re talking retirement funds, stocks, 401K… all the things that I have NO CLUE what they mean.
