However, I am who I am and there are some things that take my time — day in the life blog posts and chatty share-whatever-I-want-to blog posts — that never gain a lot of long-term traction but I’ll never let go of because I love writing them and they bring me joy. I think that is important as still, 15+ years of blogging later, sitting down to blog and chat with you, whether it’s something lighthearted or deeper, is my very, very favorite thing to do in this space.
That being said, Google sure doesn’t like those kind of blog posts so you won’t see them claiming top spots when it comes to my most popular blog posts of the year. This make sense to me (I mean no one is Googling a day in the life blog post from 4 years ago, ya know?) so you’ll see mostly content that’s evergreen and of interest year-round claiming the top spots. I’ve actually poured some more effort into updating old blog content for SEO behind the scenes which seems to be paying off in terms of maximizing some of my old content for Google search.
Of course, I’m fully expecting this could change anytime (especially with AI taking over and massively impacting bloggers) but with more than a decade of blogging, I’m more than used to the internet’s crazy ways and the way trends and content can change seemingly overnight.
Top 10 Blog Posts + Recipes of 2025
Aaand that was a heck of a long segue to introduce the 2025 top blog posts of the year! I have the top blog posts categorized by recipes (which claimed almost every single one of the top spots) and other miscellaneous blog content. It was interesting for me to see cottage cheese recipes and chicken marinades perform well in this space. As well as travel content and Amazon and gifting content. (I was honestly shocked to see my Gift Guide for Her claim a top spot since I just published it in November. That post apparently worked hard behind the scenes!) If you have any requests for blog posts you’d like to see or content you’d like to see more of in 2026, please let me know in the comments section of this post.
Hope you’re all having a great 2026 so far!

PBF Gift Guide For Her (2025)

I love all your kid tips, tricks, and recommendations—please keep them coming! The “on the boys’ plates” part of your week of dinner posts are really helpful for inspiration. Would you be willing to share your approach to snacks and desserts for your kids, and how it’s changed over the years as they’ve gotten older? It feels like it can be tricky to get mostly nourishing foods in them while also helping them establish a positive (neutral?) relationship with food, especially when schools, sports, and other events are filled with so many sugary treats. It’s always helpful to learn from other moms, and I’d love to hear what works for you (especially since, from the outside, it looks like you’ve found a healthy balance for your family).
I bet your regular readers – like me – really enjoy your day in the life type posts. Yeah, they’re not evergreen, but they definitely keep the feeling of community in your blog. Please keep doing them! They always feel like I’m catching up with a girlfriend even though you and I do not know each other.
Yes, I agree with everything Sarah said!
I agree with Sarah too! 💜
As a long time blog reader, I’m more here for the chatty long-winded posts, and kid-related content. I always love your gift guides, I usually get at least a couple ideas from you each year (and will forever sing the praises of TUL pens!!). One post idea I would be interested in is how you decide what/when activities to sign your kids up for. I am new to this game; my kids are 4 and 6; my 6 year old has expressed interest in doing gymnastics, and she’s just started Girl Scouts. My 4 year old hasn’t shown interest in much yet. I’m wondering your approach – is it more parent led and suggested, or do you wait for your kids to ask to do an activity? We are not in a rush to have our weekends consumed by youth sports, but I also don’t want to hold my kids back by not getting them involved. Thanks!
Please never stop your recent outfit roundup posts no matter what!!!!! 😉
This totally inspired me to finally share one again this week! I didn’t realize I hadn’t shared since September! Thanks for the nudge 🙂
Since becoming a mom myself I binge-read all your baby-related posts and loved your detailed updates on Chase:)
Over the years I cherished both your more lighthearted posts (loved your fitness related content, especially during your running days) as well as your serious content. Writing about topics that are really hard to talk about (like miscarriages, death, transitions in life) is not easy but so important so maybe I would love to read more about that again? Topics I can think of would be something like: How does it feel to be in your 40s now (being around that age myself)? Do you experience changing friendships as well? How do you find time to feel like “Julie” and not just “mom”? How do you manage the fear of losing one of your parents one day?
I love the day in the life posts! But still find myself searching for some of your breed and true recipes regularly! Keep doing what you are doing- in this world of AI and overconsumption I value your content SO much!
That meant to say *tried not breed🤣
I also love your workout posts. It always inspires me to get up and moving.
Ah! Thanks for sharing this! I’ll try to bring more of those back!!
