Wedding Cake & Finding Nemo

March 30, 2010 by Julie 22 Comments

Last night our friend Dru came over to our new apartment and told us a story about a wedding he attended this past weekend. Apparently the cake fell over. Yikes!

I think this story made me fall asleep with wedding cake on the brain because I had one straaaange dream.

I dreamt that I left all the wedding cake details up to Ryan. Then, on our big day, I walked into the reception room to look at the cake and he ordered a Finding Nemo cake! Ah!

Hi Nemo!

What’s the craziest thing you’ve seen happen at a wedding?

Oddly enough, I wasn’t the least bit upset about the Nemo cake in my dream.

When I told Ryan about my dream this morning, his response was, “Well, did it taste good?”

Run, Run, Run

After dreaming eventful dreams, I woke up ready to run with the pups!

I took Sadie on a 50 minute run. The weather outside was a little chilly at first, but ended up being the perfect running temperature.

Sadie, yet again, made me feel extremely unathletic this morning. When we returned from our 50 minute run, I let her out back and this is what occurred:

Running Machine

She never stops. It’s insane.

Breakfast

I was cravin’ a cinnamony breakfast this morning, so I prepared an apple cinnamon ricotta wrap featuring a huge Pink Lady apple.

Apple + Cinnamon + Ricotta

Wrap Filling

Not even half of the apple was featured in the above pictures (it was in my belly by then). Yay for apples the size of my face!

Open-Faced Wrap

Wrap it Up

This breakfast hit the spot!

Not crazy necessarily, but we were at a wedding this past Fall, and they had cupcakes out for their cake. My hubby was hungry and thought it was perfectly fine to EAT the cupcakes before the bride and groom even arrived. He basically ate their wedding cake before they ‘cut’ it. 🙂

Hmm…at our wedding our best man’s wife (never though she was good for him), starting spending her whole night with his brother on the dance floor. Didn’t think much of it, but yeah…needless to say a month later they were seperated, then got a divorce and now his ex-wife is still with his brother, who now has basically been disowned by his family….rightfully so! Drama.

I used to work at a reception hall and can’t really recall anything too crazy–some of the cakes were amusing, though! The Finding Nemo cake is hilarious! 😀

Sadie is such a cool dog!!

lol– I had some funny dreams before my wedding too. Once, I dreamed that I was marrying Ryan, but that he was a baby– literally. I guess maybe I was worried that I was going to have to take care of him in our marriage– which is so not the case! Funny stuff.

Gosh I wish I had Sadie’s energy! We think Daisy is part greyhound so that girl can run too…although when I try to take her on a jog she is like, “Ummm what’s this slow crap? I want to sprint!”

I’m with Ryan, did the cake at least taste good?! That’s all that matters 😉

A nemo cake would be pretty funny…and definitely strange.

I saw a grooms cake that was made into a burning building…he was a firefighter!

I was at a wedding where the groom said his sister’s name instead of his bride’s. It was funny.

The Midgets love Finding Nemo! They would love that cake.

I have yet to be at a wedding where anything crazy happened, but I guess that’s a good thing.

Haha, your Finding Nemo dream is hilarious! I just laughed out loud reading it! 😀

It sounds like you definitely have cake on your mind (especially after filling out that cake vs. pie chart…coincidence?). Anyways, I’m sure your wedding cake will be FABULOUS and delicious! Any ideas for what kind of cake you want?

Once again, your breakfast looks delish! Sadie sure is a crazyyy energy machine…just looking at those pics wears me out! lol

Hope you have a Happy Tuesday!

I wish I had a funny wedding story to report, but I don’t. Your dream and Finding Nemo Cake are funny. You should totally get that as the grooms cake or something. 🙂

I’ve never witnessed anything too crazy at a wedding, but at our wedding the band kept calling my husband Jason. That is not his name! Close (Jensen) but no cigar.

They announced him as Jason, Jason danced for the first time with his new wife, and Jason threw the garter. Even after told, they couldn’t get it right 🙂
