Wedding Fun Kick Off

April 10, 2013 by Julie 59 Comments

As I briefly mentioned before, this year is officially the year of weddings for us. Ryan and I have five weddings to attend (I am in four and he is in one) and the wedding fun officially kicks off this weekend with my friend Laurel’s bachelorette party in Orlando.

Julie and Laurel

I am so, so excited. We have a lot of fun stuff planned for the weekend and I spent most of the day today running around town picking up last-minute supplies for the special day. Tonight will be dedicated to crafting!

Oddly enough, I am just as excited for a low key night with the bride-to-be and the bridal party on Friday night as I am for the craziness that we have on the agenda on Saturday night. I love late nights spent talking away in pajamas and can’t wait to catch up with everyone on Friday and then party it up on Saturday.

Lunch

Since I was way on the other side of town running errands when my stomach started talking to me, I decided to pop into Firehouse Subs for lunch. I still had another errand to run before heading home and knew I wouldn’t get home until after 2 p.m., so a quick sub sounded like a good idea.

Firehouse Subs Ham

I ordered a ham sub on whole wheat with all the veggies but I forgot to ask for them to hold the mayonnaise. Mayo usually grosses me out, but it kind of melted into the provolone cheese and I didn’t notice it too much even though the sub looks mayo-tastic in these photos!

Ham Sub Firehouse Subs

Delish!

Question of the Afternoon

  • How would you like to celebrate your bachelorette party?
  • If you are married, what was the most memorable thing about your bachelorette party?

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

Woop, Partaaay! I didn’t go too crazy on my bachelorette party. A bunch of friends and I went out on the town, but no destinations or anything too $$$. I know it sounds cheesy, but I really liked this goofy checklist my friend found. It put an extra silly twist on fun times.

For my bachelorette party I think I’d just like to go out for dinner and then to a pub. I’m not much of a party or club person, so I’d be happy just spending time with my friends.

I’m getting married this May and I absolutely LOVE costumes! So, I’m sure my best friends and bridesmaids will do something associated with some scandalous lingerie. haha. Either way, my bachelorette party should be a fun experience.

I definitely want to spend my Bachelorette party away from where I live! It might sound cliche but, there’s nothing that would beat Vegas. Well, except for maybe New Orleans 😉

I decided to get married where I live in South Florida in November. All my friends and family live in Georgia, and I because of problems with work, I wasn’t able to go home the weekend of my bachelorette party and wedding shower. My new friends and husband got together and planned a last minute shower, though.

    I hope you have fun!

We definitely had a wave of weddings too–one at age 27, and now again at 34/35 (New Yorkers do it late!). The most memorable part of my bachelorette party was how special my girlfriends made me feel with all their little fun surprises. That, and a bangin’ dinner.

For my “bachelorette party,” we just had a get together at my girl friend’s house. All of my friends bought me a piece of lingerie, and we played games and ate yummy party foods. 😉

We stayed in town for my bachelorette party, but still had a blast! My friends surprised me with a limo. The best part was having all my friends there- the ones I’ve known forever, my college friends, and my cousins. They also played a game where everyone bought a pair of panties and i had to guess who brought each pair– one friend got me these giant granny panties!

I would like my day to include mimosas at the beach. I am not a huge club type of person, so a nice beach day and a delicious dinner would be enough for me .

For mine I’m bar hopping with some of my best girlfriends around DC next month. I’m so excited. I told them all I really care about is getting to see them, having a cute sash to wear, and a fun to-do list!

The most memorable moment of mine was realizing that pretty much everyone there was already married or in a serious relationship. Everyone left early because they had to “take care of” their men. Lame! My best friend and I ended up lighting up the town into the wee hours of the night on our own!

I am not sure what I want to do for my bachelorette party; I just know I want it to be fun! My maid of honor said she has something planned and it is a surprise, so I am super excited! My best friend is getting married in June, and I am planing a bachelorette party for the June 1st. I am all in crafting and organizing, since the party is in Serbia. The most interesting and labor requiring part is “An album of girlhood” (I will make sure to blog about it once the bride saw it). In general, we’ll do some games and sing star at home and then go to the club/bar on the river after midnight

A family member of mine owns a place in Sonoma Valley, CA, and my friends and I have already said that is where we want to go (keep in mind I don’t even have a boyfriend!). I would love to just hang out with them, visit wineries and shop in the square in the center of town. With all of my friends who have gotten married, we have yet to go to a city and party it up; we’ve just gone to a beach house and chilled (and drank) with ourselves

First, Firehouse Subs are my favorite! I crave them now that I’m back in a city that doesn’t have any.
My bachelorette party was in July of this past year. My best friends and sister-in-laws to be threw me a dinner party at a local Irish pub that was amazing. We went out partying afterwards and just had a crazy awesome time. Something I definitely won’t forget though is the scrapbook that they made me. Each girl created a few pages in the book with their favorite moments of our friendship. I cried as I flipped through and remembered exactly why these girls are my closest friends.
