Until then, I figured I would pop in with a recap of last week’s workouts as part of my monthly workout series. My workouts last week included a lot of Burn Boot Camp workouts which felt great as well as a quick home workout and plenty of rest days.
Week of Workouts July 2024

Monday: Burn Boot Camp Leg Day
I’ve long said I don’t love doing leg workouts on my own. I find them a little on the dull side and, admittedly, exercises like squats and lunges aren’t the easiest for me so leg strength days on my own are not my favorite. But leg day at Burn? Sooo much better! Monday’s leg workout at Burn Boot Camp was a perfect example of why I love Burn. The workout was challenging but the formatting made it fly by. And those banded quad burners? Phew! They made my quads want to fall right off.

Tuesday: Burn Boot Camp MetCon
Metabolic Conditioning days at Burn Boot Camp are my favorite cardio strength hybrid. They’re the best kind of workout because they incorporate total body weights with cardio in a way that fatigues my muscles while elevating my heartrate. I also loved the decreasing time format of Tuesday’s workout and the way we completed a superset of exercises for three rounds before completely moving on from it, as it made me feel like I was accomplishing things and checking segments of the workout off the list as the time progressed.
-
Wednesday: Burn Boot Camp Chest, Biceps, Triceps
I love a good upper body workout and Wednesday’s Burn Boot Camp workout certainly checked that box. The formatting of the workout was tabata(ish)-style — 40 seconds on and 20 seconds off of each exercise. The equalizer triceps extensions burned in the best way!

Thursday: Shoulder Workout (Caroline Girvan YouTube Streaming)
I spent most of Thursday morning food prepping for my mom’s 70th birthday weekend but wanted to squeeze in a quick shoulder workout before the boys and I headed off to a friend’s house for an afternoon of swimming and playtime. I found this 20-minute gem on one of my favorite fitness YouTube stations (Caroline Girvan is the best!) and it did the trick!
-
Friday: Rest
Friday was a rest day from workouts unless you count changing sheets and running all over the house doing last-minute cleaning before our guests arrived for the weekend which, to be honest, kind of felt like a workout. Ha!
-
Saturday: Rest
I don’t often workout on weekends and Saturday was no different. We had a house full of people over the weekend to celebrate my mom’s 70th birthday and spent the day eating, laughing, floating in the lake, playing games and enjoying each other!
-
Sunday: Family Bike Ride
After I said my goodbyes to everyone and once Ryan and the boys arrived back home from their weekend at Jellystone, we spent the rest of the day together as a family. We rode our bikes to the pool, splashed and swam together but no real workout happened.
Question of the Day
Has your workout routine changed at all this summer? More or less rest days? About the same? Have you tried any new workouts lately?

I love seeing what others are doing workout wise. I do miss Burn Bootcamp’s at home workouts since they stopped doing them on youtube and the $40 a month price is just too much to continue with all the other stuff we are subscribed to.
But, I’ve just completed Nourish Move Love’s new summer program Build 30. It is a great at home workout series… just like all of her series!

I’m loving my Peloton and doing the Power Zone rides! I also go to Lagree once a week as a treat since the studio is definitely pricey compared to home workouts.
