I love the inexpensive date ideas you guys added to my morning post.
Here are some more fun ones:
- Liz: “I’m surprising my boyfriend tonight with an indoor picnic, complete with food that I have a Groupon for!”
- Jill Bond: “Our local surf shop has cheap paddle board and kayak rentals. We stop at Whole Foods, pack a snack, put in a dry bag, and paddle to a quiet spot for dinner.”
- Kelsey: “One of my favorite date nights is when my husband and I do our own version of the Food Network show Chopped. I usually make the main dish and he takes the appetizer. We each pick 4 ingredients for the other person, then they can use anything at home. So fun!”
- Celina: “The weekends that we do get to spend alone together are normally spent working on our home or we spend them at local flea markets (Lafayette, LA). We love turning trash into treasure. I love our little hobby together! Plus, it’s tons of walking and we always enjoy lunch somewhere super cute.”
- Jamie: “Another thing we enjoy is just leashing up the dog, driving to a nearby town and just walking around and sharing a sweet treat from one of the little shops.”
- Melissa: “I think some great dates would be: fruit picking (i.e. apple, blueberry, strawberry, peach) and/or wine tasting!”
Workout + Lunch
Today’s workout was a good one! I headed to the gym for my favorite Wednesday morning boot camp class and made sure to warm up for a little bit on the elliptical before jumping around and sweating like crazy. Boot camp flew by and definitely got my heart rate up. That’s all I ask!
After boot camp, I quickly showered and then worked through the morning before it was time to head home for a late lunch.
I reheated leftovers from last night’s dinner which kept things simple. On the menu for today was a sweet potato paired with lean turkey, red pepper, onions, chopped bacon, salt, pepper and goat cheese.
The goat cheese melted into the dish and created a somewhat creamy sauce that added a lot of flavor to the meat and vegetables. Loved it!
And now it’s time for a giveaway that I think you guys will enjoy!
You Choose: Reebok Shoe Giveaway
As part of my on-going relationship with Reebok, I feel very fortunate to be able to try out different shoes that the company sends me to review on occasion. I know a bunch of you guys are in the market for new shoes, so this month I approached Reebok about hosting a giveaway that would allow one of you to select whatever pair of shoes you want from their website!
They were instantly game for my giveaway idea, so now it’s time for one of you to win a snazzy new pair of shoes!
Here are some of my personal favorites:
- Nanos (And yes, this giveaway does include the new Nano 3.0s!)
I wear Nanos on days when I know I’ll be doing functional workouts. Avid Cross-Fitters seem to love these shoes and though I don’t do CrossFit, I still love the Nanos because they make me feel a lot more stable when I do certain exercises like lunges, squats or box jumps! I love the way the shoe doesn’t have a lot of cushioning and since the midsole material is a flattened platform, it’s thinner which allows my foot to lay flatter and closer to the ground. If you’ve only ever done functional workouts like CrossFit in traditional running shoes, I’d definitely try a pair of Nanos!
These shoes actually remind me a little bit of the Nanos, but with a little more structural support and cushioning. I love them for boot camp workouts!
These are the newest shoes in my collection and I’ve been wearing them to work nearly every day (as I’m sure you can tell from their well-worn look in the above picture). They’re more cushioned than some of the other Reebok shoes out there and feel comfortable even after hours on my feet. I wear them when I teach certain group exercise classes or during my own workouts that include light running or cardio.
I’ve been wearing my RealFlex Fusions for almost a year now and love the lightweight, supportive feel of the shoe. They’re another shoe I love for workouts that include a lot of variety and some running and plyometric exercises like speed skaters.
Of course if another shoe strikes your fancy on the Reebok website, you can choose a pair that isn’t currently on my radar! It’s totally up to you! (Dancers and Zumba lovers may want to check out the dance shoes on the Reebok website. I cannot pull off the high tops, but if you can, do your thang!)
To enter this giveaway, please leave a comment below, telling me which pair of Reebok shoes you would choose if you won the giveaway. I will randomly select a winner on Friday.
Good luck!
Please note that shoe selection is subject to availability.
Nanos, definitely! I love my strength training days and would love to try these out.
Sublite Train 1.0! 🙂 Love your blog!
The Nano 3.0’s look awesome!
I’ve been drooling over the Nano 3.0s!
I start my training for my first half marathon this weekend and have been eyeing the One Cushion shoes to train in!
I would love to try the nanos. They come in so many fun colors and everyone I know who has them raves about them. They are on my shopping wish list for sure!
Love the ATV19′s!!!

Love the look of the RealFlex Fusion TR!
I would choose the Sublite Train shoes!
Hi!
I’ve been reading your blog for a couple of months now and I love it! I’m fairly new to fitness and healthy living but I’m definitely trying!
I noticed today with your reebok giveaway how many different types of shoes there are for different workouts.
I currently wear one type of sneakers for everything. Would you recommend a different pair/pairs for someone who traditionally does Zumba/ strength training/spinning as well as some beginners running for their workouts?
Also you mention the words ‘functional workout’ frequently, what exactly does that mean?
Thank you in advance for any tips!
I would love a pair of the SubLite Train 1.0. There are a lot of great colors and would be great for the group classes I take!
I’ve been in the market for a pair of trail running shoes for a while now. I love to hike, and would like to try out trail running. I’d love to win Reebok’s Outdoor Wild shoes! The tread looks tough, and the colors are awesome!
I would pick a pair of Nanos. I just recent started doing functional workouts and have been wearing my running shoes.
Definitely the Nanos! I could use a second shoe for cross-training to keep my running shoes from wearing out so quickly from all the miles on them 🙂
I love the ATV19′s!!!
I would choose the SubLite Train 1.0’s. I do a lot of circuit/interval workouts so I would like to try these out. I need a little bit more support in my shoes so I think I would prefer the SubLite Train 1.0’s over the Nanos.
Nanos 3.0 all the way!
I love the RealFlex Fusion TR! The color is so pretty, it looks so comfy and light, I’d love to workout with those shoes to get back my prepregnancy weight:-)
SubLites would be my first choice. Would love to try them…….
Tons of cool ones on the website. I especially love the DMXsky ones or the Zig Quickfire ones. I just love tennis shoes!
Sublight Train!
I’ve only ever done my strength workouts with running shoes and would love to try the nanos to get a much better work out!
I would love the Nanos for strength training days since all I have are my running shoes. 🙂
Love those RealFlex Fusions! I am need of some new comfortable shoes that I can wear when I am on my feet all day at clinics!
I would choose the nanos for sure!! especially the 3.0s! I am into crossfit and have been in desperate need of some of these shoes! As a student, i have to save up for a while to afford these, and winning these would just make my day/week/month/year!!
I’d love the Nanos!! The description sounds perfect for my fitness lifestyle.
The sublite train 1.0 look awesome for cross training workouts!
I’ve lost 40 lbs the past 7 months and finally got the guts to start Crossfit 2 weeks ago so I’d love to try a pair of the Nanos 3.0!
I’d love to try the nanos!!!
I would love the sublite duos. They sounds like the perfect fit.
The RealFlex Fusions! They’re just so darn cute! (That’s what workout gear is all about, right?? 🙂
I’m game for any shoe that’s free but I’d LOVE the Nano’s.
The nanos for sure! I would love to give these a try!
SubLite Train 1.0! These seem perfect for all the boot camp classes I take. 🙂
I would choose the SubLite Train 1.0! I love all the colors!
i would love to try the nanos!! all my crossfit friends love them!
Nanos, definitely!!
Sublite trainers for sure! I’ve been doing more cross training lately (instead of just running) and I bet they would be perfect for that!
I’d like to try the sublites!
My current Nano 2.0 shoes are over a year old and really worn from all the CrossFit WODs I’ve done within that time. I would LOVE to win a pair of the new Nano 3.0’s!!
I would love to own a pair of the Real Flex Fusions! They are so cute, and I think they’d work well with how I exercise!:)
I would love the Reebok CrossFit Nano 3.0’s! I just had back surgery for severe degenerative disc disease and I will start physical therapy in two weeks. This surgery is a life changer for me and I look forward to living an active lifestyle again. How great would it be to start off in a new pair of shoes? SOOOO great!!!
The Sublite Duo would be great for my post honeymoon in Italy workouts! (loved the food maybe a bit to much!)
The RealFlex Fusions look so cute! I would probably need one for running though, since I do that more than CrossFit-type workouts, so the SubLite Duo, ZigKick, or ONE Cushion shoes would probably work best. I LOVE all of the unique colors and designs!
I would love to try the ATV19 or the Outdoor Wild. Those look the best for long runs outdoors or on the trails.
The Realflex Fusions are what I need!
