I love the inexpensive date ideas you guys added to my morning post.
Here are some more fun ones:
- Liz: “I’m surprising my boyfriend tonight with an indoor picnic, complete with food that I have a Groupon for!”
- Jill Bond: “Our local surf shop has cheap paddle board and kayak rentals. We stop at Whole Foods, pack a snack, put in a dry bag, and paddle to a quiet spot for dinner.”
- Kelsey: “One of my favorite date nights is when my husband and I do our own version of the Food Network show Chopped. I usually make the main dish and he takes the appetizer. We each pick 4 ingredients for the other person, then they can use anything at home. So fun!”
- Celina: “The weekends that we do get to spend alone together are normally spent working on our home or we spend them at local flea markets (Lafayette, LA). We love turning trash into treasure. I love our little hobby together! Plus, it’s tons of walking and we always enjoy lunch somewhere super cute.”
- Jamie: “Another thing we enjoy is just leashing up the dog, driving to a nearby town and just walking around and sharing a sweet treat from one of the little shops.”
- Melissa: “I think some great dates would be: fruit picking (i.e. apple, blueberry, strawberry, peach) and/or wine tasting!”
Workout + Lunch
Today’s workout was a good one! I headed to the gym for my favorite Wednesday morning boot camp class and made sure to warm up for a little bit on the elliptical before jumping around and sweating like crazy. Boot camp flew by and definitely got my heart rate up. That’s all I ask!
After boot camp, I quickly showered and then worked through the morning before it was time to head home for a late lunch.
I reheated leftovers from last night’s dinner which kept things simple. On the menu for today was a sweet potato paired with lean turkey, red pepper, onions, chopped bacon, salt, pepper and goat cheese.

The goat cheese melted into the dish and created a somewhat creamy sauce that added a lot of flavor to the meat and vegetables. Loved it!
And now it’s time for a giveaway that I think you guys will enjoy!
You Choose: Reebok Shoe Giveaway
As part of my on-going relationship with Reebok, I feel very fortunate to be able to try out different shoes that the company sends me to review on occasion. I know a bunch of you guys are in the market for new shoes, so this month I approached Reebok about hosting a giveaway that would allow one of you to select whatever pair of shoes you want from their website!
They were instantly game for my giveaway idea, so now it’s time for one of you to win a snazzy new pair of shoes!
Here are some of my personal favorites:
- Nanos (And yes, this giveaway does include the new Nano 3.0s!)
I wear Nanos on days when I know I’ll be doing functional workouts. Avid Cross-Fitters seem to love these shoes and though I don’t do CrossFit, I still love the Nanos because they make me feel a lot more stable when I do certain exercises like lunges, squats or box jumps! I love the way the shoe doesn’t have a lot of cushioning and since the midsole material is a flattened platform, it’s thinner which allows my foot to lay flatter and closer to the ground. If you’ve only ever done functional workouts like CrossFit in traditional running shoes, I’d definitely try a pair of Nanos!
These shoes actually remind me a little bit of the Nanos, but with a little more structural support and cushioning. I love them for boot camp workouts!
These are the newest shoes in my collection and I’ve been wearing them to work nearly every day (as I’m sure you can tell from their well-worn look in the above picture). They’re more cushioned than some of the other Reebok shoes out there and feel comfortable even after hours on my feet. I wear them when I teach certain group exercise classes or during my own workouts that include light running or cardio.
I’ve been wearing my RealFlex Fusions for almost a year now and love the lightweight, supportive feel of the shoe. They’re another shoe I love for workouts that include a lot of variety and some running and plyometric exercises like speed skaters.
Of course if another shoe strikes your fancy on the Reebok website, you can choose a pair that isn’t currently on my radar! It’s totally up to you! (Dancers and Zumba lovers may want to check out the dance shoes on the Reebok website. I cannot pull off the high tops, but if you can, do your thang!)
To enter this giveaway, please leave a comment below, telling me which pair of Reebok shoes you would choose if you won the giveaway. I will randomly select a winner on Friday.
Good luck!
Please note that shoe selection is subject to availability.
I like the sublite duos!
Nano 3.0 for sure !
Wow!! I love your reviews on all of them but if I won, I would LOVE to try a pair of the Nanos! Loving the purple too!
Wow, what an incredible opportunity!
I only have 1 pair of running shoes that are Nike and find my knees hurt after my workouts (terrible, I know!) I would be honoured to try out Reebok SubLite Train 1.0 and hopefully become a die hard Reebok fan 🙂
Definitely the Real Flex Fusions for running and squats!! Love this giveaway 🙂
ZigKick Trail 1.0 or Outdoor wild since I’m in the market for trail running shoes!
I would love to try the nanos!!
I would pick the subLite Train 1.0 because at first glance I thought you wrote they remind you of nachos! Clearly I haven’t eaten lunch yet today 🙂 But I got my run in bright and early!
I like the SubLite Train 1.0
probably the sublite duo….
I would love a pair of SubLite Train 1.0’s or a pair of the dance shoes! I have flat feet (no arches) so shoes with little structural support cause pain during workouts. Since I love Zumba, that’s a huge problem with all the footwork involved! I’d love a pair with good support but are good for dancing too!
love the Sublites! Seem similar to the Nike Free, but with more stability. I have somewhat high arches, so these might help out on longer runs with cushioning.
SubLite Train 1.0 look like they would work well for the classes I take!
I love love love the Reebok ATV19 for women. Im all for some funky colors on shoes these days.
Love the Nano 2.0 for crossfit.
I heard lots of great things about the new Nano 3.0, so I would love those!
What a great giveaway! I would love the RealFlex Fusions- perfect for my HIIT and plyo!
The Nanos or (more likely) the SubLite Train 1.0 as I tend to like some stability in my shoes…you do some awesome giveaways!
I would love to try the Nano 3.0’s – I just started CrossFit and am on the lookout for a new, supportive shoe!
I would pick the SubLite Train 1.0. I do a lot of boot camp style workouts but I need the extra support in my shoe.
Would love to try the Real Flex Fusions!
I would love the RealFlex Fusion TRs!!
I would love the RealFlex Transition, I take a lot of bootcamp and plyometrics classes at my gym and these seem perfect for those kind of workouts, I could finally retire my current old running shoes that I’ve been using.
The sublight duos look awesome! 😀
I would love to try the nano’s for non cardio days!
I would go for the Nano 3.0 … I’m curious if they’ll live up to the hype!
I would definitely wear the sublite train 1.0s.
I’d choose the Nanos— I am just starting to get into functional training and would love to try them out!
I’d probably go with the RealFlex or the Nanos! I love all of Reeboks’ new shoes and have been wanting to try out a pair. I haven’t had Reeboks in years!
I would love a good shoe for strength training classes! Maybe the sublite or fushion.
Reebok Nano’s!! I do Crossfit and I’m dying to try the new Nano’s!! :)))
Sublite Duo–let’s face it, the lil extra cushion on my backside, makes the lil extra cushion in the shoe feel real nice 😉
I’ve heard nothing but wonderful things about the new Nano 3.0’s! I’d totally choose those in the neon yellow/blue combo!
I’m jones’ing for some nano 3.0’s! I especially love the purple.
Nano 3.0! I’ve heard a lot of good things about them!
OMG I need a new pair of shoes for crossfit badly. I have been eyeing the Nano 3.0 for a while now
They are all pretty great but I would choose the Sublite Duos. Based on your description, being a nurse I am on my feet all day long and extra cushioning even after long periods of time is something I need. Just been thinking about new shoes the other day – what good timing for reading your inexpensive date idea posts.
I would definitely choose the SubLite Trains, I love having support and cushioning during my workouts, plus they are super cute!
The RealFlex Fusion TRs look pretty fun!
I would totally try the RealFlex Fusions!!
Nano Nano Nano Nano Nano Nano Nano Nano REEBOK!!! (To the tune of Batman) 😛
I love the Nano 3.0s!
I would choose the RealFlex – heavy on support and light on weight is always ideal for me!
Wow what a great giveaway! I am looking for new running/training shoes right now! Both the nano 3.0 and the Reebok One Cushion look amazing! I would be ecstatic with either!!! And I’m loving all the fun color options!
I would rock the new Reebok Ones. I currently CrossFit at the Reebok 5th Avenue box in NYC and training for the NYC marathon. I’ve always been an Asics girl but I know the coaches at the box would be proud to see me run the marathon in a pair of Reeboks!
Oh what a good idea! I just learned from my PT that I need to find a pair of running shoes with less of a heel to better my position, so any of the flatter shoes could work!
I would definitely love the Realflex Fusion. I recently bought a pair of running shoes from a different brand and my feet have never hurt so bad.
The Sublite Duo’s! Any sneaker that leaves you still feeling comfortable after hours on your feet- sounds good to me!
I would definitely go for the sublite duo!
Nanos!
