I love the inexpensive date ideas you guys added to my morning post.
Here are some more fun ones:
- Liz: “I’m surprising my boyfriend tonight with an indoor picnic, complete with food that I have a Groupon for!”
- Jill Bond: “Our local surf shop has cheap paddle board and kayak rentals. We stop at Whole Foods, pack a snack, put in a dry bag, and paddle to a quiet spot for dinner.”
- Kelsey: “One of my favorite date nights is when my husband and I do our own version of the Food Network show Chopped. I usually make the main dish and he takes the appetizer. We each pick 4 ingredients for the other person, then they can use anything at home. So fun!”
- Celina: “The weekends that we do get to spend alone together are normally spent working on our home or we spend them at local flea markets (Lafayette, LA). We love turning trash into treasure. I love our little hobby together! Plus, it’s tons of walking and we always enjoy lunch somewhere super cute.”
- Jamie: “Another thing we enjoy is just leashing up the dog, driving to a nearby town and just walking around and sharing a sweet treat from one of the little shops.”
- Melissa: “I think some great dates would be: fruit picking (i.e. apple, blueberry, strawberry, peach) and/or wine tasting!”
Workout + Lunch
Today’s workout was a good one! I headed to the gym for my favorite Wednesday morning boot camp class and made sure to warm up for a little bit on the elliptical before jumping around and sweating like crazy. Boot camp flew by and definitely got my heart rate up. That’s all I ask!
After boot camp, I quickly showered and then worked through the morning before it was time to head home for a late lunch.
I reheated leftovers from last night’s dinner which kept things simple. On the menu for today was a sweet potato paired with lean turkey, red pepper, onions, chopped bacon, salt, pepper and goat cheese.
The goat cheese melted into the dish and created a somewhat creamy sauce that added a lot of flavor to the meat and vegetables. Loved it!
And now it’s time for a giveaway that I think you guys will enjoy!
You Choose: Reebok Shoe Giveaway
As part of my on-going relationship with Reebok, I feel very fortunate to be able to try out different shoes that the company sends me to review on occasion. I know a bunch of you guys are in the market for new shoes, so this month I approached Reebok about hosting a giveaway that would allow one of you to select whatever pair of shoes you want from their website!
They were instantly game for my giveaway idea, so now it’s time for one of you to win a snazzy new pair of shoes!
Here are some of my personal favorites:
- Nanos (And yes, this giveaway does include the new Nano 3.0s!)
I wear Nanos on days when I know I’ll be doing functional workouts. Avid Cross-Fitters seem to love these shoes and though I don’t do CrossFit, I still love the Nanos because they make me feel a lot more stable when I do certain exercises like lunges, squats or box jumps! I love the way the shoe doesn’t have a lot of cushioning and since the midsole material is a flattened platform, it’s thinner which allows my foot to lay flatter and closer to the ground. If you’ve only ever done functional workouts like CrossFit in traditional running shoes, I’d definitely try a pair of Nanos!
These shoes actually remind me a little bit of the Nanos, but with a little more structural support and cushioning. I love them for boot camp workouts!
These are the newest shoes in my collection and I’ve been wearing them to work nearly every day (as I’m sure you can tell from their well-worn look in the above picture). They’re more cushioned than some of the other Reebok shoes out there and feel comfortable even after hours on my feet. I wear them when I teach certain group exercise classes or during my own workouts that include light running or cardio.
I’ve been wearing my RealFlex Fusions for almost a year now and love the lightweight, supportive feel of the shoe. They’re another shoe I love for workouts that include a lot of variety and some running and plyometric exercises like speed skaters.
Of course if another shoe strikes your fancy on the Reebok website, you can choose a pair that isn’t currently on my radar! It’s totally up to you! (Dancers and Zumba lovers may want to check out the dance shoes on the Reebok website. I cannot pull off the high tops, but if you can, do your thang!)
To enter this giveaway, please leave a comment below, telling me which pair of Reebok shoes you would choose if you won the giveaway. I will randomly select a winner on Friday.
Good luck!
Please note that shoe selection is subject to availability.
The sublite duos for bootcamp workouts!!
i have a lot of joint problems, so the only (non swimming) workout i can really do is walking, i need a well cushioned, supportive shoe, so i suppose i’ll go with the Sublite Duo
I would have a tough time choosing between the Nanos and SubLite Train 1.0. Definitely in the market for some weight lifting/crosstraining shoes.
RealFlex Fusion!
Oh my goodness! I am in LoVe with the Sublite’s! Those would be perfect for my long walks and runs!!:) Thanks for the giveaway!!! I love getting meal ideas from you:)
I love the Sublite Train 1.0! I just got into Body Pump (love it!) and have just been using an old pair of running shoes. It would be nice to have a pair that was meant more for it since they are completely different kinds of exercise!
Nanos!
Wow that’s a tough choice! I love them all! I think I would go with Sublite Duo!
Those sublite trainers are pretty darn cute. I’ve been wanting some new gym shoes for awhile now.
Without a doubt, I’d choose the Sublite Duo. You gotta love bright-colored gym shoes!
I have been eyeing the nano 3.0s since they came out! I would definitely choose those!
I love the Sublite Duo!
Oh man I would for sure pick the Nanos!!! I just started Crossfit 2months ago after I had my first baby and the shoes I’m wearing now have too much cushion and push me forward onto my toes too much for weightlifting!
Definately the Realflex fusion!!
I would choose the Nanos. I stuggle with keeping my feet stable during lunges (my foot always tends to roll) and thus loathe them. However I am very much pear shaped and need to be able to incorporate a lot of lower body workouts into my routine (including the dreaded lunges). I really want to try the Nanos!
RealFlex Fusion TR’s for sure! I’m in much need of new running shoes! Purple running shoes would just be a plus!
I would choose the SubLite Train 1.0 🙂
I would get the Sub Lite Duos. I love that color you are wearing !
definitely the sublites!!
Definitely the sublite train 1.0, i need a little more support in my ankles :-/
I like the RealFlex Fushion TR because they seem like they could handle my HIIT workouts as well and running. Thanks!
the sublite duo chases look awesome! I would get them for my half marathon training. They would definitely keep me comfortable when I’m running from class, to work (babysitting chasing 3 little kids!) and of course, on my own workouts!
Definitely the Nanos. Just started with CrossFit and have been using my running shoes. I could really use the extra support!
I would love the sublite trains! Love the color too. I’ll be teaching Zumba and Fitness Walking for my graduate assistantship this year and my present shoes are about done, these would be perfect!!
The Nanos!! Definitely the Nanos!!
I have no clue which one’s I would pick but I am definitely in need of a new pair of sneakers for the weight room!
I would love the nano’s!
I would choose either the nano or relflex. I tried the nano on in store and lived the feel but the price tag made me shy away. I tend to spend most of my shoe money on running shoes every 6 months so its hard to justify $100+ on shoes I would wear twice a week for 30 minutes
I am 2 months into crossfit, and LOVE it!!! I would love to try the Nanos!
I am just getting into running again and would love a nice, comfortable shoe to get me going.
I would pick the new nanos! They look super cool 🙂
I would love the Nanos! My shoes now are from 2010. Whoops!
I would choose the Flex Fusion TR. I am always looking for a great shoe for cross training.
Ever since I started doing my own functional/cross-fit type workouts at home, I’ve been looking at the Nanos. I think they would be really helpful for the squats and lunges that I do. I would love to get a chance to try them out!
I could certainly use a new pair of sneaks for my trips to the gym! But, as a Physician Assistant student, I can’t afford them 🙁 But the sublite duo’s seem amazing!!
I would love to get a pair of nanos the shoes I have now are getting those holes and are stinky….as brand new pair would put a pep in my step for my crossfit WOD!!!!!!!
I would get the nanos! I tried my friend’s pair one day when I forgot my shoes and they were great!!!
The Nanos would be great for my WODs!!!
I love them all!! Tough choice but i think i would choose the nanos!! 🙂
If love to try the real flex fusions! Looking for running shoes and I had old pair of real flexes I loved!!
I would love to try out the nanos for some cross training!!
I would love to try out those nano 3.0s!!!
I’m currently training for the Chicago Marathon and am needing another pair of running shoes to add into my training since my current ones just went over 200 miles! I’m not sure which ones I would pick but I love Reeboks and would be able to easily fall in love with a pair!
Love them all! I want the Nanos!!!!!
I would love to try out the Nano’s! They look great
I love the look of the RealFlex Runs! Although if I win I’ll probably do a significant amount of research about the shoes I pick 🙂
I want the nanos for sure. Good for crossfit!
I would love to get the realflex fusions, I have been looking for a light pair of shoes to train for a triathlon!
Love the Sublite Duos!
I would pick the SubLite train 1.0! Love the colors!
