I love the inexpensive date ideas you guys added to my morning post.
Here are some more fun ones:
- Liz: “I’m surprising my boyfriend tonight with an indoor picnic, complete with food that I have a Groupon for!”
- Jill Bond: “Our local surf shop has cheap paddle board and kayak rentals. We stop at Whole Foods, pack a snack, put in a dry bag, and paddle to a quiet spot for dinner.”
- Kelsey: “One of my favorite date nights is when my husband and I do our own version of the Food Network show Chopped. I usually make the main dish and he takes the appetizer. We each pick 4 ingredients for the other person, then they can use anything at home. So fun!”
- Celina: “The weekends that we do get to spend alone together are normally spent working on our home or we spend them at local flea markets (Lafayette, LA). We love turning trash into treasure. I love our little hobby together! Plus, it’s tons of walking and we always enjoy lunch somewhere super cute.”
- Jamie: “Another thing we enjoy is just leashing up the dog, driving to a nearby town and just walking around and sharing a sweet treat from one of the little shops.”
- Melissa: “I think some great dates would be: fruit picking (i.e. apple, blueberry, strawberry, peach) and/or wine tasting!”
Workout + Lunch
Today’s workout was a good one! I headed to the gym for my favorite Wednesday morning boot camp class and made sure to warm up for a little bit on the elliptical before jumping around and sweating like crazy. Boot camp flew by and definitely got my heart rate up. That’s all I ask!
After boot camp, I quickly showered and then worked through the morning before it was time to head home for a late lunch.
I reheated leftovers from last night’s dinner which kept things simple. On the menu for today was a sweet potato paired with lean turkey, red pepper, onions, chopped bacon, salt, pepper and goat cheese.
The goat cheese melted into the dish and created a somewhat creamy sauce that added a lot of flavor to the meat and vegetables. Loved it!
And now it’s time for a giveaway that I think you guys will enjoy!
You Choose: Reebok Shoe Giveaway
As part of my on-going relationship with Reebok, I feel very fortunate to be able to try out different shoes that the company sends me to review on occasion. I know a bunch of you guys are in the market for new shoes, so this month I approached Reebok about hosting a giveaway that would allow one of you to select whatever pair of shoes you want from their website!
They were instantly game for my giveaway idea, so now it’s time for one of you to win a snazzy new pair of shoes!
Here are some of my personal favorites:
- Nanos (And yes, this giveaway does include the new Nano 3.0s!)
I wear Nanos on days when I know I’ll be doing functional workouts. Avid Cross-Fitters seem to love these shoes and though I don’t do CrossFit, I still love the Nanos because they make me feel a lot more stable when I do certain exercises like lunges, squats or box jumps! I love the way the shoe doesn’t have a lot of cushioning and since the midsole material is a flattened platform, it’s thinner which allows my foot to lay flatter and closer to the ground. If you’ve only ever done functional workouts like CrossFit in traditional running shoes, I’d definitely try a pair of Nanos!
These shoes actually remind me a little bit of the Nanos, but with a little more structural support and cushioning. I love them for boot camp workouts!
These are the newest shoes in my collection and I’ve been wearing them to work nearly every day (as I’m sure you can tell from their well-worn look in the above picture). They’re more cushioned than some of the other Reebok shoes out there and feel comfortable even after hours on my feet. I wear them when I teach certain group exercise classes or during my own workouts that include light running or cardio.
I’ve been wearing my RealFlex Fusions for almost a year now and love the lightweight, supportive feel of the shoe. They’re another shoe I love for workouts that include a lot of variety and some running and plyometric exercises like speed skaters.
Of course if another shoe strikes your fancy on the Reebok website, you can choose a pair that isn’t currently on my radar! It’s totally up to you! (Dancers and Zumba lovers may want to check out the dance shoes on the Reebok website. I cannot pull off the high tops, but if you can, do your thang!)
To enter this giveaway, please leave a comment below, telling me which pair of Reebok shoes you would choose if you won the giveaway. I will randomly select a winner on Friday.
Good luck!
Please note that shoe selection is subject to availability.
I just finished my Crossfit foundations classes and I would LOVE a pair of Nanos!
SubLite Train 1.0! I’ve started to cross train more and run less so a lighter more flexible shoe would be awesome!
Definitely the Nanos! I do a lot of weight training and they would be perfect!
I love the Nanos! I’ve been working with a personal trainer and I only have one pair of sneakers, my running shoes. I would love a shoe that might help me feel more stable during the lunges! I wobble all over the place!
Reebok crossfit Nanos!
Definitely the nano 3.0! I’ve been doing CrossFit for over a year now and Nanos are on my “want list”.
The Nanos 3.0! I was looking for a good CrossFit shoe!
I would love to get my hands on a pair of the Nanos!!
would love to try the outdoor wild!
RealFlex Fusions for running ad crosstraining!
I love the sublite 1.0’s!!
I love the sublite duo shoe…and the color combos are great!
I’m on the market for two pairs right now- a pair for running and a pair for Zumba. I have my eyes on the SubLite Duo Runs for the running shoes…still looking around for a good pair for Zumba!
Definitely SubLite Train 1.0! I was just told I really need to ditch my recycled running shoes (yes they do have holes) that I wear for group classes/boot camp at the gym. A PT at my gym said that although noble that i want to “reuse” them, old running shoes do not give proper (if any support) while I cross-train:). Please help me heed her advice;)
Thanks for all the date night ideas!! I would definitely pick the Nanos to try… I’ve heard great things!! Thanka for the chance to win!
I would love to have the new Nano 3.0 for functional trainings since my workout shoes are so old!
Sublite train 1.0 seem like a perfect fit for me!
The sublite duo!! I love the look of them!!
I would love the SubLite Train 1.0. I love all of the colors offered (neon for days) and need a good cross-training shoe with good support!
I would absolutely love to try the Nanos! They look awesome and would be great for my workouts.
I love the realflex fusion shoes!
They all look awesome! I would have to go with the nanos though, my current pair of shoes have not been giving me the stability I need.
🙂
I really want the Nanos because they sound so cool! But- the sub life’s sound like they would work better for the types of workouts I do.
Definitely the nano’s!
I would choose the sublite duo!
I would definitely pick the Nanos! I love doing group fitness classes so I think they will be perfect for me!
I would LOVE the nanos! I’ve become obsessed with the boot camp class at my gym and these would help the aching in my feet I usually feel at the end of the workout. 🙂
I would love a pair of Nanos. I just commited to 3 days per week of Crossfit for a month so they’d come in very handy 🙂
The Nanos!
I would like the Sublite Duo!
The realflex fusions. Love the purple
I’m going back to college and my friend and I are going to force ourselves to finally go to the gym. All those shoes look like they would be fantastic, especially the RealFlex Fusion TR. This is a very generous giveaway, so thank you for the opportunity. I wish everybody luck. 🙂
I recently tore my ACL & am recovering from reconstruction surgery. I was working out in some older shoes at the gym so I think the Nano’s would help give me stability in my gym workouts once I make my return 🙂
Would love the Nanos to teach bootcamp and functional workouts.
I would choose bright colored Nanos! I’ve been wanting a pair for so long!
I really want some new running shoes. I am starting cross country this year so I need some nice shoes and it would be so cool to be able to pick any shoe I wanted!
I would love the Nanos! I’ve been wanting to try Crossfit and these would be perfect!
I would definitely choose the RealFlex Fusion TR. I’m going to sign up for the tough mudder in Chicago next year and I want a good shoe to start with my training!
For me it would be the sublite duo!
Sublite train! Need a good functional workout shoe.
I like the Sublite
I’ve been an avid walker for almost two years now. I have just progressed to running and have dealt with having to buy new, supportive shoes frequently because of my flat feet 🙁 I would love to try a pair of Reeboks that you could suggest that has plenty of arch support!! Thanks for approaching Reebok with this great idea!
I really like the RealFlex Fusion TR. Great color and would be great for training in! I am due for a new pair of shoes!
I would love a pair of the Sublite Train 1.0’s. I usually get a new pair of workout shoes every Christmas but this year I’ve really done a number on mine!
I’d love to win the RealFlex Fusion TR.
I would love the sublite duo – perfect for me!
I would choose the Sublite train 1.0 because I enjoy a little more cushioning on my shoes!
Sublite for sure! I can only wear closed toed shoes for work, and like you I am on my feet all day! So something comfy would be awesome 🙂
I would love the Sublite Duo please -n- thank you so much. New work out shoes are the best thing ever!!!!!!!
I would like the sublite! Most of my workouts seems to include strength with some light cardio, which sounds similar to what you wear them for 🙂
