I love the inexpensive date ideas you guys added to my morning post.
Here are some more fun ones:
- Liz: “I’m surprising my boyfriend tonight with an indoor picnic, complete with food that I have a Groupon for!”
- Jill Bond: “Our local surf shop has cheap paddle board and kayak rentals. We stop at Whole Foods, pack a snack, put in a dry bag, and paddle to a quiet spot for dinner.”
- Kelsey: “One of my favorite date nights is when my husband and I do our own version of the Food Network show Chopped. I usually make the main dish and he takes the appetizer. We each pick 4 ingredients for the other person, then they can use anything at home. So fun!”
- Celina: “The weekends that we do get to spend alone together are normally spent working on our home or we spend them at local flea markets (Lafayette, LA). We love turning trash into treasure. I love our little hobby together! Plus, it’s tons of walking and we always enjoy lunch somewhere super cute.”
- Jamie: “Another thing we enjoy is just leashing up the dog, driving to a nearby town and just walking around and sharing a sweet treat from one of the little shops.”
- Melissa: “I think some great dates would be: fruit picking (i.e. apple, blueberry, strawberry, peach) and/or wine tasting!”
Workout + Lunch
Today’s workout was a good one! I headed to the gym for my favorite Wednesday morning boot camp class and made sure to warm up for a little bit on the elliptical before jumping around and sweating like crazy. Boot camp flew by and definitely got my heart rate up. That’s all I ask!
After boot camp, I quickly showered and then worked through the morning before it was time to head home for a late lunch.
I reheated leftovers from last night’s dinner which kept things simple. On the menu for today was a sweet potato paired with lean turkey, red pepper, onions, chopped bacon, salt, pepper and goat cheese.
The goat cheese melted into the dish and created a somewhat creamy sauce that added a lot of flavor to the meat and vegetables. Loved it!
And now it’s time for a giveaway that I think you guys will enjoy!
You Choose: Reebok Shoe Giveaway
As part of my on-going relationship with Reebok, I feel very fortunate to be able to try out different shoes that the company sends me to review on occasion. I know a bunch of you guys are in the market for new shoes, so this month I approached Reebok about hosting a giveaway that would allow one of you to select whatever pair of shoes you want from their website!
They were instantly game for my giveaway idea, so now it’s time for one of you to win a snazzy new pair of shoes!
Here are some of my personal favorites:
- Nanos (And yes, this giveaway does include the new Nano 3.0s!)
I wear Nanos on days when I know I’ll be doing functional workouts. Avid Cross-Fitters seem to love these shoes and though I don’t do CrossFit, I still love the Nanos because they make me feel a lot more stable when I do certain exercises like lunges, squats or box jumps! I love the way the shoe doesn’t have a lot of cushioning and since the midsole material is a flattened platform, it’s thinner which allows my foot to lay flatter and closer to the ground. If you’ve only ever done functional workouts like CrossFit in traditional running shoes, I’d definitely try a pair of Nanos!
These shoes actually remind me a little bit of the Nanos, but with a little more structural support and cushioning. I love them for boot camp workouts!
These are the newest shoes in my collection and I’ve been wearing them to work nearly every day (as I’m sure you can tell from their well-worn look in the above picture). They’re more cushioned than some of the other Reebok shoes out there and feel comfortable even after hours on my feet. I wear them when I teach certain group exercise classes or during my own workouts that include light running or cardio.
I’ve been wearing my RealFlex Fusions for almost a year now and love the lightweight, supportive feel of the shoe. They’re another shoe I love for workouts that include a lot of variety and some running and plyometric exercises like speed skaters.
Of course if another shoe strikes your fancy on the Reebok website, you can choose a pair that isn’t currently on my radar! It’s totally up to you! (Dancers and Zumba lovers may want to check out the dance shoes on the Reebok website. I cannot pull off the high tops, but if you can, do your thang!)
To enter this giveaway, please leave a comment below, telling me which pair of Reebok shoes you would choose if you won the giveaway. I will randomly select a winner on Friday.
Good luck!
Please note that shoe selection is subject to availability.
I just began CrossFit this month and I am definitely in the market for new shoes! I would choose the SubLite Train 1.0 because you mentioned they were similar to the Nanos but with more cushioning. That sounds like just what I would need!
I hear a lot of good things about the Nano 3.0s. I’d like to try them!
I would love the sublite trains or the realflex. I’m in the market for new cross training shoes (and have been for a while). My current pair is over two years old. Oops!
I love the ZigUltras and the SubLite Duo Chase. 🙂
I am in dire need of cross-training shoes, so I don’t wear out my running shoes too quickly – I put enough miles on them every week! I would love the Nano 3.0, Sublite Duo or ATV19! Too many choices!!
I would try the sublite duo
I’ve been working out in my hiking sneakers lately which hasn’t been good for my feet 🙁 so I could really use some new sneakers I have my eyes on the nanos 3.0s the purple ones are adorable !!!
I love the SubLite shoes! The style and the colour combos are great!
I would love a pair of Nanos– so cute and so functional!
I’d choose the real flex! My current pair are all worn out and I love the support plus they’re so lightweight which is great for travel.
I am DYING for a new pair of Nanos. They are my favorite shoes to wear while I coach crossfit. 🙂
Ahh I’ve been dying to get a pair of the SubLite Train 1.0s because I LOVE the colour!! I think they’d be perfect for some of the group exercise classes I’ve been doing. Great giveaway!
I’m so glad you are able to provide some real life experience behind each shoe! From what your experience shows, I def think Nanos would be right up my alley. They sound perfect for the type of workouts I enjoy! <3
I would LOVE to try a pair of the Nano 3.0’s. I have been searching for a training shoe with more stability.
I would love to try the Nanos! I started a bootcamp/crossfit class a month ago and these shoes would be a great addition to my work out!
I recently bought my first pair of Reebok shoes and LOVE them and would like to add a second pair into the rotation. I would love to try the Nano 3.0 or the RealFlex Fusion TR. Love all the bright, fun colors!
I would love the sublite or realfex shoes. I teach so I’m on my feet all day and need some new gym shoes.
I would want the Real Flex Fusion TR! I need some shoes for plyometric moves!
Would love to try the sublite train 1.0! I’m training for 2 halfs this fall and am in desperate need of a new crosstraining shoe! There are some great color options too!
I would love to try SubLite Train 1.0
I would try the SubLite Duo Chase. I’m in the market for some new running shoes and these look lightweight yet still supportive. I haven’t had a pair of reeboks since elementary school so I’d love to give them another shot!
SubLite Train 1.0 would be great for my 1st year in indoor track
I’d like to Real Flex Fusion. Those look super comfortable for gym time and Zumba time!
I really like the look of the SubLite Train shoes! They seem super supportive.
The nano 3.0s of course!!!!! I started CrossFit with my boyfriend and I just love it!! I can imagine myself doing squats and box jumps with these shoes and it is just give me so much motivation. My PR would go high!!
I think I’d get the Sublight Trainers for when I teach Boot Camp!
I’d love to try the Nano’s!
My current workout sneaks are def looking a little shabby so a new pair would be amazing! I would love to try the sublite duo’s 🙂
I like the ATV19
The ZigKick rides would be perfect. I am actually not running right now because of a (bad) shoe purchase and I pronate. There is no support and a new pair of shoes would be a blessing. 🙂
Hi Julie! I’d love to have a pair of the Real Flex Fusion!
I would love to try the nanos or the sublite duos!
I like them all! Love the style of the nanos though, I could really use a good pair of cross training sneaks.
The SubLite Train 1.0 would be great for some of the classes I take at my gym like kickboxing!
I lost my nice Nike Shox on a trip to Kenya last fall and have been wearing 4 year old cheer shoes ever since….I am definitely in need of new shoes! I have never owned a pair of Reebok shoes before, but would love to give them a try! I would probably choose the Sublite Duo for their good support!
I would choose the SubLite Train 1.0. I have the Nanos for CrossFit and absolutely love them, but I need a good training shoe for my regular gym days that will support all kinds of exercises and some treadmill sprints. Plus they are super cute!
I love all the neon colors Reeboks puts out! I’ve had my eye on the RealFlex Fusion TR 🙂
I would love to try the sublite duos! Most of my workouts consist of cross training and they seem like the perfect pair for that.
My workout schedule imcludes everything from tabatas to strength training to long distance runs, so the sublite shoes or the realflex fusion TR shoes would be an amazing addition to my worn out running sneakers!
I love how colorful their shoes are! I would go for the Sublite Duos!
Reebok shoes are awesome, I love the lavender nanos!!!
Nano 3.0!
Hi!! I would love to win the Real Flex Fusion TR
The Reebok nano 3’s for sure!!!
I would be SO grateful if I could win a pair of the Nano’s!!! I am currently training for a marathon, and use my running shoes for all my workouts including my weight training/cross training. It would be so great to have another pair for those workouts rather than wearing my running sneakers all the time. AHHH I am dying for a pair of Nano’s!! Any color would be perfect, but i really am loving those purple ones shown!!! 😉
I’d LOVE to try the Sublite train for my cross training days! 🙂
I would love to win the new nano 3s!! They look incredible.
I would love to try a pair of Nano’s. I think it would make me a little less wobbly doing lunges! 🙂
I would love to try the Nanos!
I would choose the Sublite Duo. Fun color 🙂
