I love the inexpensive date ideas you guys added to my morning post.
Here are some more fun ones:
- Liz: “I’m surprising my boyfriend tonight with an indoor picnic, complete with food that I have a Groupon for!”
- Jill Bond: “Our local surf shop has cheap paddle board and kayak rentals. We stop at Whole Foods, pack a snack, put in a dry bag, and paddle to a quiet spot for dinner.”
- Kelsey: “One of my favorite date nights is when my husband and I do our own version of the Food Network show Chopped. I usually make the main dish and he takes the appetizer. We each pick 4 ingredients for the other person, then they can use anything at home. So fun!”
- Celina: “The weekends that we do get to spend alone together are normally spent working on our home or we spend them at local flea markets (Lafayette, LA). We love turning trash into treasure. I love our little hobby together! Plus, it’s tons of walking and we always enjoy lunch somewhere super cute.”
- Jamie: “Another thing we enjoy is just leashing up the dog, driving to a nearby town and just walking around and sharing a sweet treat from one of the little shops.”
- Melissa: “I think some great dates would be: fruit picking (i.e. apple, blueberry, strawberry, peach) and/or wine tasting!”
Workout + Lunch
Today’s workout was a good one! I headed to the gym for my favorite Wednesday morning boot camp class and made sure to warm up for a little bit on the elliptical before jumping around and sweating like crazy. Boot camp flew by and definitely got my heart rate up. That’s all I ask!
After boot camp, I quickly showered and then worked through the morning before it was time to head home for a late lunch.
I reheated leftovers from last night’s dinner which kept things simple. On the menu for today was a sweet potato paired with lean turkey, red pepper, onions, chopped bacon, salt, pepper and goat cheese.
The goat cheese melted into the dish and created a somewhat creamy sauce that added a lot of flavor to the meat and vegetables. Loved it!
And now it’s time for a giveaway that I think you guys will enjoy!
You Choose: Reebok Shoe Giveaway
As part of my on-going relationship with Reebok, I feel very fortunate to be able to try out different shoes that the company sends me to review on occasion. I know a bunch of you guys are in the market for new shoes, so this month I approached Reebok about hosting a giveaway that would allow one of you to select whatever pair of shoes you want from their website!
They were instantly game for my giveaway idea, so now it’s time for one of you to win a snazzy new pair of shoes!
Here are some of my personal favorites:
- Nanos (And yes, this giveaway does include the new Nano 3.0s!)
I wear Nanos on days when I know I’ll be doing functional workouts. Avid Cross-Fitters seem to love these shoes and though I don’t do CrossFit, I still love the Nanos because they make me feel a lot more stable when I do certain exercises like lunges, squats or box jumps! I love the way the shoe doesn’t have a lot of cushioning and since the midsole material is a flattened platform, it’s thinner which allows my foot to lay flatter and closer to the ground. If you’ve only ever done functional workouts like CrossFit in traditional running shoes, I’d definitely try a pair of Nanos!
These shoes actually remind me a little bit of the Nanos, but with a little more structural support and cushioning. I love them for boot camp workouts!
These are the newest shoes in my collection and I’ve been wearing them to work nearly every day (as I’m sure you can tell from their well-worn look in the above picture). They’re more cushioned than some of the other Reebok shoes out there and feel comfortable even after hours on my feet. I wear them when I teach certain group exercise classes or during my own workouts that include light running or cardio.
I’ve been wearing my RealFlex Fusions for almost a year now and love the lightweight, supportive feel of the shoe. They’re another shoe I love for workouts that include a lot of variety and some running and plyometric exercises like speed skaters.
Of course if another shoe strikes your fancy on the Reebok website, you can choose a pair that isn’t currently on my radar! It’s totally up to you! (Dancers and Zumba lovers may want to check out the dance shoes on the Reebok website. I cannot pull off the high tops, but if you can, do your thang!)
To enter this giveaway, please leave a comment below, telling me which pair of Reebok shoes you would choose if you won the giveaway. I will randomly select a winner on Friday.
Good luck!
Please note that shoe selection is subject to availability.
I would love to try the Nano. At 50 I need all the help I can get when it comes to stability.
sublite duo
nanos! i’m starting to do more functional workouts, so shoes built for that would be nice.
Either the Duos or Fusions – I need a good cross training shoe. I’ve been retiring old running shoes to the gym and they just aren’t cutting it.
I’d love the Sublite Duo!
I’ve been eyeing the nanos 3.0. I currently have the nanos 2.0 and want to upgrade!
I would love a new running pair like the ZigUltra’s! They come in amazing colors too 🙂
The SubLite Train 1.0’s sound perrrrfect for my circuit training. I would love to try them. 🙂 Woot-hoo! 🙂 Love your giveaway’s Julie!
I absolutely love the nanos and the RealFlex Fusion TR I do a good mix of running, circuit and weight training!
Great idea for a giveaway Julie. I would love to check out the Sublite Duo!! Thanks for hosting. 🙂
I’d love the sublight trainers!
Oh! This would be awesome! Im in desperate need of a new pair of shoes for workouts. I haven’t bought a new pair in almost a year. I would either chose the Real Flex Fusion TR or the Nanos.
LOVE the sublite duos!!!
RealFlex!!!
I would love the RealFlex Fusions. I’ve just started running again and need a new pair of running sneakers!
I would probably pick the Sublite duos! 🙂
I absolutely love the SubLite Train 1.0! They are so cute and look so comfortable! After recently becoming an avid reader of your blog (which I am obsessed with btw), you have inspired me to break out of my same boring cardio routine and take some bootcamp classes at my gym. They make waking up at 5:15am not so bad! Thanks Julie!
The new nanos 3.0!! Love reading your blog!
Definitely the RealFlex Transition. in PINK! 🙂
Love the sublite duo! I need some cushioning in my shoe 🙂
My sister in law runs in her real Flex shoes….I want a pair so bad!
I would absolutely love the new nanos 3.0!
I like the look of the RealFlex Fusion. I’m also a group exercise instructor and am in the market for a new pair of lightweight cross trainers!
I definitely need some new running shoes! I like the Reebok ONE Cushion for pronation control and my high arches.
I’d love the Sublite Duo!
I would love to try the Nano 3.0! I’ve heard great things and I currently have a pair of the 2.0s and have been pretty happy with them.
I would love to try out the nanos! I am not a Cross Fit guru but I do a lot of the home workouts like Insanity and T25 and thought it would be a great fit! I love reading everyones comments and your blog is so inspiration, fitspiration to the 100th degree. Thanks for all you do, fo ryour motivation and your daily routines. xx
I love lightweight shoes….am OBSESSED!!! So I would go with the Sublite Duos!! 🙂
I would love love love to try out the new Nano 3.0s. I have been lusting over some Crossfit shoes for months; I do Crossfit 6 times a week and would love to see what a difference the Nanos that everyone raves about would make!
Nano 3.0’s!
I would love the reebok ONE guide’s for running!
I would choose either the Nano or a pair of running shoes from the website. I would love to give a different brand of shoes a try during my runs, but keep going back to my same old running shoes!
Definitely the Nanos! I’ve been doing more heavier lifting lately and the extra support would be great!
How cool! My boyfriend and I are hopefully (fingers crossed!) getting a dog this week and I’m itching to get the little guy out for a trail run with me! The Outdoor Wild shoes look like they’d provide great stability so I can hunker down and keep myself stable when he inevitably pulls on the leash. 🙂
What a hard choice. I think I would love the RealFlex Fusions (or maybe the sublite Duos)!
I would like to try out the Sublite Duo. I like the additional cushioning in my tennis shoes, plus I love the neon colors of that shoe!
I love the SubLite Train 1.0.
I need a bit more stability!
Great give-away! Thanks!
I’m digging the SubLite Duos. Not only are they on point with this summer’s neon trend, I like that the sole is unique and makes the shoe lighter!! Hope to try them out!
I would choose the Reebok Nanos. They look cute and comfy, which is exactly what I’m looking for.
I would pick the SubLite Duos for sure! I need all the support I can get 🙂
I would love to try the nanos. I have a personal trainer and we do a lot of crossfit inspired exercises so I think the nanos would be perfect!
I would go with the Sublite Duo. If you are wearing them to work everyday, they must be good!
I’d like to try the Sublite Duo Chase! I’ve never owned Reebok shoes, and these look great for cross training!
sublite!
The RealFlex Fusion TR look like a great pair to try.
I would definitely get the Sublites. Generally my workouts consist of about half cardio (jogging/walking) and half circuit training. These seem like the perfect shoe for both!
I’d pick the Nanos. I trust your recommendation!
I love the sublite duos!! I usually start off my workouts with some running before functional training so it sounds like they’d be perfect!
I would pick the sublite duo!!
I would choose the real Flex Fusion TR or the Nanos.
