Sleep In Walk

This morning when the alarm went off, Ryan got out of bed and declared it “sleep in day” and we slept until 6:30 a.m. which felt glorious.

I am hoping to take a lunchtime group exercise class at the gym, so skipping our typical 5 a.m. workout and getting and extra 90 minutes of sleep sounded like a great idea.

Once we were up, we took Sadie on a 30-minute walk around the neighborhood.

casall 013

It was cool enough this morning for me to wear workout capris instead of shorts, so I threw on some of the new gear I received from Casall a few weeks ago.

casall 016

My top is the Level Rib Boxback tank in bird of paradise and the capris are the Essential Rapidry 3/4 Tights.

casall 010

I was able to pick out a top and bottom I wanted to try from Casall’s website and was very happy with my selection. I love the drifit material of the top and the extra length is perfect for someone with a really long torso like me. I struggle to find workout tops that are long enough and was relieved that this top was extra long and didn’t ride up during workouts like many others seem to do.

The capris deserve an excessive amount of praise. I can’t stand when workout capris fall down when you run or are so thin that they show every lump and bump. Not so with these!

casall 019

I love the waistband of the capris and the way it doesn’t dig into my sides. The material of the capris is thicker than other capris so they are not ideal for outside workouts in the Florida heat, but they have been perfect for gym workouts and a yoga class that I took in them a few weeks ago. The thickness of the capris makes them a lot more flattering as well and they’re backed by a three-year warranty. The downfall is the price of the apparel, which seems to be in the lululemon price range.

Casall agreed to host a giveaway on the blog very soon, so stay tuned! I have a feeling you guys will love their workout apparel and once we work out the logistics, I’ll be sure to fill you in.

My morning walk with Ryan and Sadie was a great way to start the day, especially since we were able to get outside before the heat of the day set in.

Sadie was pumped and the slightly chilly weather only heightened her enthusiasm.

casall 015

Can you see the “stick” in her mouth? Sadie found a stellar piece of mulch that she carried around with her for the last half of our walk. She’s a peach.

Breakfast

Breakfast this morning was a cold and thick bowl of overnight oats topped with a sliced banana.

overnight oats with bananaovernight oats

I’m not sure what it is, but this breakfast is sitting like a rock in my stomach this morning. Very filling!

Question of the Morning

  • What brand do you think makes the most flattering workout apparel?

I love your capris and tank! It’s super cute! The capri’s look really comfy and flattering. 🙂 I think lululemon makes really comfy and flattering looking work out clothes. I’ve never purchased anything from them but I definitely think it would be worth it.

Ooh I like the sounds of this brand! I can’t stand when capris start to fall down, and my Lululemon ones fit perfectly. I used to have a lot of workouts gear from other brands, but over the past couple of years have only really bought Lululemon items because they fit me so well and they last forever!

Love your shoes! Do you have a preference between those and the pink ones you wear? Im in the market and the bright colors call to me, but want to make sure the support is there too.

I am a die hard lululemon fan – anytime it’s my birthday or a holiday rolls around, that is what i ask for! My favorite item is probably my run inspire crops – I wear them all the time!

I am a morning exerciser too and sometimes you just need a sleep-in day. Those are the best! Nice capris! I love my lulu capris, but also like my champion ones from target (haha) and im dying to try some from athleta since we have a new store locally!

Lululemon Wunder Unders are a godsend as far as capris go! They are a tad pricey, but everything from their store is amazing!

  7. Marissa says

Woah! Those capris are out of my price range … I’ll just head to TJMaxx or Marshalls to find some workout gear 🙂

um, whoah price tag on those clothes!! must be nice to get to try them out for free!! maybe i can win the giveaway!! their prices seem more expensive than lululemon, which is outrageous in my opinion!! but i DO value the importance of good workout clothes. target’s champion line seems sufficient enough for me!!

  9. Kristin says

I like the Zella line from Nordstrom. It’s amazing and not super expensive! The main designer used to be a product manager at lulu.

That tank and capri is super cute, but it’s actually MORE than lululemon. I didnt even know that could be possible! Haha

I usually go with whatever fits properly, regardless of brand. I’m generally bigger on top than on the bottom, so that sometimes makes it tough finding things that fit. Plus it has to be in my budget – while I definitely don’t mind paying for quality, I’m not going to pay more just because of a name.

I buy nearly all of my workout gear from Old Navy or Target. I love Target’s cardio tees. They’re like $10! I also have a pair of compression capris from Old Navy that are flattering and awesome. I’d love to get some of the lululemon speed shorts but they are just SO pricey!

Love your shoes!! I have some of these Nikes except mine are a white & mango(orange)… Love them 🙂 so comfy for working out & light :-). No actual preference on the workout apparel. Been having trouble lately b/c I’ve been losing weight LOL

I have to say Lululemon, though I do not love all their stuff but their bottoms are always the most flattering and comfortable. I am not a fan of skinny or elastic waist tops for bottoms and for tops I like thin material, and yes longer tops.
Love your outfit, I will check out their website!

  15. says

I am a huge Lululemon fan! I have yet to meet a piece of their workout clothing I didn’t love 🙂 For running, I love Nike shorts and tops, and lately, I’ve been wearing Target’s C9 Champion sports bras–cute colors and super supportive!

That whole outfit looks so cute on you. Underamour and Nike make great running capris. I love Lululemon though. I usually go to Nordstrom Rack to find workout gear, the sales rack at Dick’s sporting’s goods, and target :). I love your blue nikes by the way! Are they comfortable walking shoes?

  18. says

While I love lulu as much as the next girl, it’s definitely a splurge purchase. For more everyday, I LOVE Under Armour, especially their running shorts. I was a huge fan of the Nike Tempo shorts, but I haven’t touched them since I bought the UA running shorts. Oh, the UA are generally cheaper, too 😉

      (Quote)

  19. says

I love the tops that are longer and I agree with your frustration over short tops. Now, they are coming out with more and more tops that look like skirts over capris and I love those.

  20. says

I WANT that top and capris haha. I have a long torso too. You look fab in them by the way :D. Can’t wait for this giveaway! I just generally wear nike running shorts and random tanks that I find at Dicks Sporting Goods. Although, victoria’s secret vsx has some cute stuff too!

You look wonderful and Sadie so willing to pose with you!

I fully admit, I don’t invest much in athletic gear. I need to even upgrade my sports bras at this point.

Nice to meet someone else with the long torso problem!

those capris sound amazing! I have one pair for running from target, but they really dig into me since I have to tie a string to make them stay up. And I LOVE your shoes!!! Are those Nike Frees?

Also, what ratio of yogurt/oats/milk/chia seeds do you use for your oats? I always have trouble with overnight oats and never getting it right, or it ends up not being filling enough.

      (Quote)

  23. says

I LOVE the Zella line from Nordstrom. They are by far the most flattering work-out pants I have ever found. They work great for all types of exercise, too.

      (Quote)

  24. says

my favorite work out capris are from jcpenney, of all places! they’re the xersion line. they actually remind me of these ones – thick waistband (high waisted, which i like… suck it all in, baby), thicker material that isn’t sheer and covers all the nooks and crannies. they’re very reasonably priced, too!

      (Quote)

  25. says

Those workout clothes are really cute!

In the higher price range, I love Lululemon & Zella for workout clothes, but I also don’t always want to drop $50+ on gym gear, so I frequent Target’s C9 collection quite often!

      (Quote)

  26. says

I LOVE YOUR SHOES!!! Can you link me to those? I really don’t have any nice workout clothes, except one cute outfit I got from target, I bought one of those shirts that keep moisture off and is so light, um dri- something?? And some turqious track shorts, I love track shorts, but Ive been wanting to get some nice black strecthy pants, but haven’t been able to find ones like don’t show the lovely imperfections in my upper thigh area ha!

I’m obsessed with Lululemon. I pretty much only buy it when it’s on sale and have been slowly building up my collection, while weeding out the old stuff. It’s totally worth it to me!

I’m actually headed to Lululemon during lunch to try out some of their stuff (we are lucky enough to have one in downtown Milwaukee). But of all the stuff I already own, Nike Dryfit has worked best.

Julie! please don’t go jogging alone in the early morning even if the neighborhood is safe. My close friend was followed by two men in a car and she was alone yesterday. Of course she ran as fast as she could and went inside her house, (it was a bit dark) but the car was still there around her house. I was literally terrified by her phone call yesterday.

They taste heavenly to me!! 🙂

And I love the Sadie pictures! I recently saw a Dogs 101 episode about vizslas—it was like seeing a bunch of Sadies running around lol Cute little personalities!

LOVE the workout clothes you have on today, especially the top! Coming from another girl with a long torso, it is HARD to find shirts long enough. I hate when I am in a class and I constantly have to pull my shirt down to cover up my belly.

Can’t wait for more details about the giveaway!!

Lululemon is my favorite, but I really don’t have too much of it. I can’t wait for the giveaway because living in Boston, it can get pretty cool. I would love some capris to wear instead of shorts when it’s chilly!!

After years of loyalty to Lulelemon, I’ve switched to Nike leggings. They’re a much more flattering fit, better at sweat wicking and have perfect sized pockets for running with ID and ipod.

You look really cute and I love the color of that top! I clicked over to their website because I’m always looking to try new workout clothes but I have to say I am shocked at how expensive Casall is. And I shop at Lululemon often! Yikes! You’re lucky to have gotten to try them for free.

I live in Lululemon speed shorts and swiftly tanks and tees. Comfortable, on the cheaper end of lulu and really functional!

Those look great and I would love to try, but it is so hard for me to drop that kind of cash on workout clothes when I don’t even spend that much on regular clothes 🙂 I’m a big fan of the Old Navy compression capris, they’re comfortable and stay up well, and are just $23! They also have these loose cross-back tank tops that I am in love with for yoga.

I got a Casall tank top for $8 at a store called Clothes Mentor. The store is similar to Plato’s Closet. They have a website so you can check for store locations. They have great deals on workout clothes that would otherwise be expensive . I love the length of their tank tops:)

I tend to wear the VSX line or the Pink yoga pants from Victoria Secret’s. They are thicker and on the cheaper side for this college kid. On the other hand I normally wear a random tank top when I go out running, but I need to find something longer for me. I’ll have to start hitting up the TJ Max in my town 🙂 Thanks for always trying out new things and sharing!!!

That outfit is adorable. I try to find workout clothes that keep me cool and comfortable. I also steer clear of colors and fabrics that show a lot of sweat. I tend to have good luck finding quality clothes for cheap at TJ Maxx and Marshalls. Love those stores!!!

Your workout outfit is adorable! (And while you didn’t talk about the shoes I LOVE them – that color is awesome)
I usually just end up getting whatever fits in my budget from Target, Old Navy or a TJ Maxx/Marshalls kind of place. I really want to try Lululemon but it has yet to be allowed within the budget. 🙁

Lululemon creates a demon in you! I have serious lulu problems these days! You can find good things on sale if you get there (or online) right when they re-fresh the sale rack, but sale prices are still more than like Nike or Gap clothes. I have a pair of Gap running shorts that I got recently that I adore too!

I love when new workout gear fits just right – I got a new lulu running skort for my birthday and it is perfection! I’ll have to check out these capris, I would wear them for biking tho instead of running 🙂
